I used to eat here as a kid all the time. This was the first time I had been back in a lot of years, so I guess I relied on memory to how things tasted. The clam chowder was very good, and so were the hush puppies. The fried catfish was not as flaky as I like my catfish to be, and was missing flavor. Can’t go wrong with the chowder though.

I went for the fish an chips and that what I got. I ordered the 2 piece cod not knowing that they are HUGE! So, I had left overs for dinner. I got there at 11:00 am and the dinning room filled up in about 15 minutes, but they have plenty of outdoor seating as well. I will go back.

Good food and good service. If you looking for some good fried fish and more I would recommend this place. I’ve been there a few times now and will be a repeat customer. Be careful going around luch time though because the line gets long you may want to call ahead.

Excellent fish but the grease must cease! Had been wanting to try Zeke’s for quite awhile and finally got the chance last Saturday. Joint was fairly busy when I stopped by with the kitchen jumpin’ with lotsa busy fryer cooks. Ordered the 2 piece cod special for $ 9.75 that came with hush puppies. Dish was brought to my table reasonably quickly and looked and tasted delicious. My only problem was that the fish and fries were both really greasy to the point where my head was seriously pounding about an hour after I departed. Food was great but definitely not something you’re gonna wanna wolf down with any regularity if you value your arterial health. Heh! Very cordial and engaging staff. Bud and Coors Lite on tap with bottled microbrews. Small dining area but with character. Seems to attract middle-aged working class patrons and most were ordering catfish so they may know something. I gave Zeke’s 3.5 stars and rounded to 4. I’ll go back but if they made it healthier, I’d probably be there every week.

I know this is an old Fort Worth tradition for many, but I am just not that big of a fan. The menu had several different items, but I opted for the fish and chips(lunch special) as that’s what their name says. The fish, itself, was okay but the breading was heavy and greasy. I had to peel it off to eat the fish inside. The«chips» were also nothing special. I had to ask for some malt vinegar as all that was on the table was ketchup. This didn’t even help. The service was okay I guess, sort of non-descript. The next time I want some greasy food that I can actually eat, I’ll just go to Jack in the Box across the street.

Lots of good stuff here. The place is like a BBQ for fish. Great food and great to have if you have a fried food craving. First time I’ve had fried zucchini too. I always end up getting the fish and chips.

I can’t live without having a shrimp burger and some fried eggplant! If you haven’t tried this place yet, you need too! Best Fort Worth fish dive! Nice patio out back too!

Listen if you are a fan of fried food, especially fried seafood, then you need to check out Zeke’s. They’ve got all the classics like catfish, cod, shrimp, oyster, etc. I got the cod and it was awesome. The batter was thick but by no means overly doughy. The fish was cooked perfectly, moist and opaque meat. The portions are huge so it’s a good bang for your buck. There are plenty of sides to choose from to round out your meal. They aren’t going to win any décor or ambiance awards but it is a joint you walk into and know you’re going to get some legit food. Well personally the divey joints have worked out well for me. Zeke’s you won my vote and I will be back next time I want quality and affordable fried seafood!

Best fried cod/catfish in the area. Great portion sizes. Be sure to try some of the fried veggies(I am partial to the zucchini). Their banana pudding is pretty good, too.

It has been about year since I have been here. I remember what I was missing. Awesome food. There was a line out the door when I arrived. So there was a short wait for food and clean table. Fish dinner was great, I had cod and cat… coleslaw here is the best. Corn nuggets or okra??? So both… LoL. Only issue was sweet tea, NOT very sweet.

We have been eating here for years and years. The fried cod and all of the fried sides are the best. The catfish is solid but with the cod around, I would never be able to order the catfish. I have seen a couple of reviews of the side vegetables stating these are bland. The reason for this is their homemade«ranch» or actually a dill sauce is packed full of flavor and meant for your sides. The remoulade for the fish is great as well. Vinegar resides on the shelves in the back right corner or ask your server. Yes, we are supposed to leave tips for the servers. If you want an experience not found anywhere else in DFW then head to Zekes. You will not be disappointed. Fried Perfection on every level. Now, I can’t wait to get back here. It is not a weekly restaurant or bi-weekly restaurant but you will figure out what suits you and your party. Just get Here!

Pretty good fish and chips. The fish fell out of the batter but overall the fish and sides were pretty good… Parking is an issue

«Fried, dipped in ranch» is basically the entire idea of this place. We ordered the fried cod with french fries and hush puppies. I think I’ve said this in another review but anything fried and dipped in ranch is a wonderful thing in my book. The cod was fresh, but the hush puppies were a little bit tough and they give you a lot, so the fried goodness becomes a bit overwhelming by the end of the meal — I couldn’t finish all of them. The food is delicious, don’t get me wrong, but I think I would enjoy the experience of Zeke’s a lot more if I ate less, lol.

Zeke’s is one of those restaurants that you grow up loving if you’ve been around for a while. It’s simple food — fried fish, fried veggies, and sauces that make you want to dig in for more. So much so that you need a fried okra for eating your sauce. The lunch specials are my favorite. I always get a two piece fish with two sides. $ 9.99 Winning. The fish is always a good size and the texture stays juicy, firm and meaty. The breading is crispy and buttery. The color is a vibrant ‘I’ve been fried perfectly’ color. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy and served with an amazing creamy cucumber dill ranch. It’s always nice to start the meal with the jalapeño hushpuppies. Service is always super friendly. Parking is kind of limited. Delivery service available.

#6 stop on my quest to visit Fort Worth’s 20 oldest restaurants. For your first visit, I understand dinner traffic can be very crowded, so go for lunch, that’s what I did today. Very limited parking in front and just 3 – 4 spots around back is it. There are only 15 – 16 four-toppers inside, so max capacity is only about 60 – 70 hence my comment about the dinner rush. Fried fish(cod or catfish) is the way to go at Zeke’s, although there are limited other things on the menu(like fried chicken … Get the«fried» connection. I got the cod lunch combo, which came with 2 nice sized pieces of fish, 3 nicely spiced hush puppies, and two«veggies» of my choice(I opted for the little fried corn fritters and the fries, but the fried okra looked tasty as well. This substantial portion with a sweet tea came to $ 11.97, a really nice value. This is a super casual place, and you need to be ready to roll up your sleeves and shoulder in with eclectic crowd, that at lunch ran from business men and women, to Duck Commander types, and everything in between. Plastic baskets and napkins rule the day. You order up front, and then find your seat and the fried magic is brought out to you when ready. The place was half full when I was there and my combo took 10 minutes to be brought out, so I expect wait times for the orders will be 15 – 20 minutes when the line is stretching out the door. It’s worth it folks, Zeke’s kitchen crew has the frying process down pat. Lightly coated and flash fried so the outside is crunchy and the inside is super moist and flaky. Really satisfied my fish and chips need. They give you a couple dipping sauces and a bottle of ketchup and Tabasco on the table. Would have liked to see some vinegar around, maybe I just missed it. The servers run the baskets out from the kitchen to the tables, and everything is made to order, so it comes out hot and fresh. I was checked on a couple times by the staff and my tea was refilled gratis. I noticed no one was leaving a tip when they left, c’mon folks, the girls are working hard to make sure your experience is as good as it can be … Show a little love. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Think Zeke’s will be around for at least 35 more years.
