The Velvet Box

Where do I begin? If I could select 0 stars, I would. This is the most crooked, counterfeit establishment I’ve ever dealt with! I have been a customer on multiple occasions. On mother’s day, we Parked in front of the building, only to see it was closed. We decided to walk to the nearby Fred’s café to listen to some music and eat some lunch. After a couple of hours, we walked back to discover that our vehicles had been towed! By then, the store had opened… nearly two hours after they were supposed to be open according to the hours listed on the door! We ended up taking this business to court regarding illegal towing. The judge ruled in their favor DESPITE the fact that they DO NOT have legal towing signage at their store! Save yourself the hassle and order from Amazon. They’re prices and selection are better and they’ll make your day rather than ruin it!

No shame in writing a review for an adult store. I wasn’t going to at first until I went on a hunt for a pillow. We went to the one on Overton Ridge and they were out of the Liberator. I thought we was just going for this pillow type thing and ended up with a ramp. Inquiring minds, it raises you about 14 inches and kinda on an incline. When folded it becomes a seat! The Overton store was out, so they called this store and held on to it until we came to pick it up.
I’ve only been here a few times. mostly last month. Previously, back years ago we would go to Crystals. Velvet is a small store, but they do carry a lot. Fancy lingerie, oils, lotions, ticklers, massagers, rabbits, glass things, double the pleasures, and more.
Since the staff was helpful. I’d definitely would be back.

This is a nice store, but there’s not a lot of variety. I do believe they carry the hottest items because I saw some electrical tool from 50 shades of grey (never read that series, the store was promoting the item with the book next to it), so I have no clue what it was-​the clerk said electric shock, which prompted me to move on to the next item lol The prices weren’t too bad either. They have several choices for lingerie, affordable, but you can do better at Victoria’s secret if willing to spend the extra money. Their lingerie only costs $ 25, and if you are looking for something simple and sexy, it will do the job.

I did a little window shopping yesterday all along W. 7^th when I decided to sneak a peek in here. I figured why the hell not– you only live once! NYE 2016 was lingering and Valentines day is just around the corner, lets just have a little looksie!
First off the lady who greeted me, Ms Dawn; her customer service skills were right on point. She introduced herself cheerfully and politely, but then kind of let me take it from there. Im sure they never know what kind of people they’re getting (Ie: nervous, or shy, outgoing, or just going in for giggles). Anyway, I love that she let me browse, and just checked on me here and there with out being intrusive. If I had a question she answered super professionally and skimmed just the surface as to maintain a level of privacy. It made me way comfortable!
The store it self has everything from upscale lingerie, novelty items and gag gifts, high dollar adult items and a large book selection. The thing that sets this store a part from others in it’s likeness was it inclusivity, and taking the opportunity to «teach» about the human body! The first book I saw on display was «How to Talk to Your Kids About Sex». And the shop has a whole section devoted to Mama’s and their post baby bodies. I really appreciated the fact that they were normalizing whats always considered such a taboo subject!
Way to go The Velvet Box! Three cheers for you!

A clean and nicely organized store, attractive displays, and lots of toys with batteries to power up and try (in the palms of your hands) make the Velvet Box a great choice for you and your partner’s adult needs.
Lingerie here is over-​frilly and Lacey for my taste, like an 80s Frederick’s of Hollywood catalog. I like classier simpler stuff. The few books I leafed through were technique related how-to’s with no pictures.
We particularly enjoyed walking the toys section of the store because everything was charged and ready for action, helpful since these devices are priced from $ 50 up to $ 150 and higher. And, without violating Unilocal’s community content policies all I can really say here is *daaammmnnn* there are some inventive researchers out there working hard to dream up tickly, vibrating, rotating, wiggling, suction devices and em, let’s just say it was fun to talk about them together. I kept saying «Huh. Well I’ve never thought of THAT before.»
There was one retail professional working the store, appropriate as it was very slow early Sunday afternoon [insert joke about the after-​church crowd still being at lunch]. She was a bit over-​helpful. Like, we are obviously in a sex store so sex talk is inevitable when discussing the products. But, idk she looked like Tina Fey and I didn’t want to hear her use the word «clit» in a sentence for some reason, haha. Ok I’m uncomfortable typing this so I’ll move on now.
By far the best part about visiting these stores is the conversation my partner and I inevitably have about trying new things together. So, for that I give Velvet Box high marks because of the ease of navigating the store and availability of floor models of the toys to try out (on your hand, arm, etc.). The prices were a bit high, but the products seemed to be of high quality, this «Upscale» in the business name.

Took my first class at velvet box, very friendly and knowledgeable. Coming again… No pun intended.

I was in town for vacation and was told about this store. I have been on the web site and had to check out the store. The sales clerk was very helpful. I will be back again when I am in town.

Amazing selection and amazing staff, I’d be back in a heartbeat. Don’t let the location scare you away – parking would typically be a pain around here because it’s quite a busy area – but they have their own storefront parking so it’s very easy access. Very female friendly, clean/​classy, and this location is actually really convenient in my opinion!
They have an enormous toy selection complete with tons of displays they encourage you to take advantage of (so to speak) and a very sizable lingerie selection as well. I failed to notice the bachelor/​ette party selections but considering the impressive selection, I’d have faith enough to assume those needs would be more than met as well. And again, the people working here and really friendly and approachable. Late hours (til 11 during the week and 1am on weekends, 9pm on Sundays) are helpful, too!

Really nice store. Love the open layout and displays. And appreciated the helpful staff that could explain the pros and cons of the different toys. Highly recommend.

I was probably a little tipsy when I ventured in here… but not tipsy enough to not know what I wanted to purchase. A lady approached us… I’m pretty sure she didn’t think I was a serious shopper. I ended up purchasing her recommendation actually. Smaller store… decent enough selection of fun fare. Pretty attentive staff too. No complaints aside from feeling like the lady that helped me didn’t come across sincere. Go ahead, get your rated R/​X on.

I needed a good place to buy a bachelorette party gift and bridal lingerie between Dallas and Midland and this was absolutely perfect! The selection is the biggest I’ve seen of any shop I’ve been in and they even had a large selection of mens undies as well as ladies outfits and tights. The lady who was working was so nice and unlike other shops I’ve been in, left me to shop without hovering nearby making it awkward. I ended up finding perfect white lingerie as well as some adorable white lacey pastees! If I’m ever in the area again, I will absolutely stop by for a visit. Oh yeah, and the penis confetti that I found here was BY FAR the highlight of the party!

I was just in The Velet Box on Morton. We had run out of WET Lube and had to resupply so we stopped in the store. OMG, Super clean and the staff was so helpfull and knowladgeable. Not only did we buy the lube but we found a perfect new addition to our play room stuff.

Okay, yes, it’s an adult shop. Don’t go in there if you don’t dig. But holy shit. Seriously, it’s classy and neat and doesn’t feel dirty like NFA at all. Nearly every item is on display for you to touch and feel — getting home with something that looked funner on the box sucks! The nice girl who helped me was fantastic too.
There’s a selection of books and lingerie too, and even some man-​panties too, in case you are feeling generous for the dude in your life :).
I bought nothing on this trip, but know I’ll make the 30 minute drive to this gorgeous little shop before stepping foot back into oogie NFA again, any day.

Honestly, this is one of the most female friendly sex boutiques in the DFW area. I’m a huge fan and love the store layout, how everything is color and flavor coded, the selection of toys, the fact that the toys are out of the boxes for you to play with, the awesome customer service (my girl had my toy charging, cleaned and bagged by the time I was done browsing) and for having a fitting room. I haven’t been to the other location but I heard it’s huge! The prices are a little on the high end but I think for the fantastic environment and quality of the products it’s well worth paying a few extra bucks. Think of this as the Nordstrom’s of adult stores. This location did not carry any shoes nor did they have very many sleeves and dildos (probably attributed to the fact that they do not hold a sexually oriented business license with Ft. Worth so less than 35% of their inventory can not be considered obscene) but they have a large variety of self help books, different lubes (even my favorite vegan sliquid lube was found in every flavor here) and plenty of naughty accessories like numbing pops, textured condoms, horney honey wipes and body paint. This reminds me, I did see some ants crawling around this display area which led me to think that maybe something was leaking in one of the containers. Regardless, I’m still a fan! I would have stayed longer but there are only a few designated parking spots here and they have a 30 minute time limit. So whether your a sex toy novice or a pleasure toy sexpert, you’ll find something pleasing!
