No smoking in the front bar, updated sound system sounds great for any intimate set of rock reggae country funk or blues. Gotto go get a shotto at the Grotto…

Great time lots of fun! Jenga, shuffleboard and bands. Be prepared to stink like smoke if you hang on that side. Local spot and kinda like a dirty old basement…

Awesome small venue far enough away from 7th to have a little parking and space from the douchebags. Cody and co do a great job

Open mic night on Mondays are hit or miss. On some nights, you can play video games by the bar downstairs. Drinks are cheap, staff is always friendly, shows are usually pretty good. Frat boys and sorority girls from nearby TCU like to come here and be raucous, which annoys me, but if you’re into that kind of thing… Bathrooms are just plain awful. One of the pool tables is really screwy.

Decent little bar, but I am not a big fan of dive bars. They have a good selection of beers on tap and the bartenders seem to know thier beer. There is not a whole lot to this place. They have a stage for a band and a game room in the back. Thier shuffle board table is in pretty good shape. For you dog lovers there was a dog roaming around the bar. I don’t know if that was normal but the dog seemed to be pretty comfortable.

This is most certainly a dive bar. It’s no longer smoking in the main part of the bar, but there’s a smaller area past the stage and restrooms where you can puff it up to your hearts content. The drinks are cheap. It’s dirty. The ladies room is a joke. The door to the«stall» doesn’t close. It has a locking latch you can use at the top, but that still allows the door to open a good 4 inches. So just imagine hoards of drunk girls pulling on the door while you try to pee. Not cute. The main bar and stage area really isn’t well ventilated anymore, so when there’s more than 30 people in there it gets stuffy. You can escape to the smokers area, which is nice and cold, but smokey. I wouldn’t come here unless I knew someone playing. Also be prepared to spend 12 damn dollars at the door for cover. Lola’s doesn’t even charge that much.

Typical dive bar! My brother’s band played here or I probably wouldn’t find myself in a place like this these days… maybe 10 years ago. There are some characters and some regulars hanging around. If you like live music and a small crowd, this is your place. You can get right up to the stage. They have a giant, live-sized Jenga game too which is pretty cool.

I’m really a classic fan of great dive bars. The Grotto fits the bill. I’ve only got three big requirements, too. 1. Cheap drinks: And how! They are more than happy to sate your thirst with a healthy selection of beers on tap and mixed drinks. Easy on the wallet. There have been a couple of nights I was grateful to have hitched a ride up there… Let’s leave it at that. The ‘tenders are usually very friendly and attentive as well! 2. Smoking: Not a good selling point for everyone, sure. But, if I’m divin’ around Ft. Worth then I know there isn’t a smoking ban to keep my lungs healthy for a night. I hate going outside for a smoke while inebriated… And I tend to chain smoke when drinking. 3. Music: I can’t pretend that the in-house jams are always top notch(I’m a bit of a snob) but I can always rely on some decent or great local acts to perform here. My own band has played many times as well as friends’ groups and just good local talent. It’s always a blast. Also, for what it’s worth, parking isn’t too crappy. Truth be told, we usually park next door(they don’t tow) though I suppose I shouldn’t advocate such blatant disregard for property rights. At your own risk. The grotto gets 4⁄5 from me for doing the damn thing simply and well. Oh, there’s a big buck hunter somewhere in there too… if, y’know, that’s your thing. Time for shots!

Love this place, Very cool vibe inside and nice chill spots outside to sit, drink, and hang out. Also there is a back room with a pool table and some other games. In the main room of the bar there is always great local bands playing. Infact, this St. Patrick’s Day(March 17th, 2012) there is a huge show going on that Pistol Packin’ Mama is hosting( ). Molotov Dogs from Denton and Melismatics on their way back from South By Southwest will be there too. Def make that one if you can to see how badass this bar really is. Peace.

Meh! Its An ok place i been here twice and I’m not a fan of it. it could be better I just dont know they charge a entrance Fee for such a small place. its not like a big venue its some small bar filled with what i think are either strippers, hookers or chic’s just wanting to look for the next sucker to buy them a drink. and dont get me started on the D-bag wanna be hipsters that ive seen walk around. YOUNOTFOOLINGANYBODY! I probably wont ever come back to this place i really dont like it but the bartender’s were awesome. and the drink’s were reasonable.
