Most definilty the most bang for your buck. Amazing views from your windows, walking distance to downtown. Brand new feelings when first moving in. They re paint the entire place and put in brand new carpet for each resident. It is costly but you are getting great benefits to being so close to downtown. The trains are noisy but thats the experience of the Depot. It was originally an old train station. It has lots of history! Staff is very friendly! I couldn’t have found a better Apt to live in. I left because I moved into a house and wanted to save some money. Great experience all around!

I lived there the last 2.5 years, responsive mgmt staff, and hard working and fast maintenance crew, best I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend living here !

I felt the need to come back and write a review after seeing the HORRIBLE experience a friend is having at another complex. I lived at the Depot almost three years until I bought a house. Yes, it is a little loud because of trains, but they reflect this in their rent. They really maintained this place. It was painted and the grounds were cleaned all the time. I regularly saw the friendly maintenance staff. I had minor issues, such as a clogged drain and window that wouldn’t close – they fixed everything within one day. Everyone was also very responsive to emails. I didn’t think much if this until I realized this isn’t the norm other places. A little extra light in the bathroom and another closet would’ve been nice, but I guess that’s the loft vibe.

I’ve lived at The Depot for going on two years now in a two bedroom on the third floor. I selected this property as I work full time (in Arlington) and am in night law school at Texas A&M in downtown Fort Worth. For any students that can afford it, living only three quarters of a mile away from school is fantastic. I’m a young professional who was looking for a quiet place (to study) and yet still be in the middle of the downtown lifestyle.
I live on the third floor, and as a few other reviewers have noted, occasionally the fourth floor is very loud. This comes down to the consideration of your upstairs neighbor, in my opinion, as noise from someone walking around doesn’t bother me, but loud music does. If you have to make a complaint after hours, it gets forwarded to the Fort Worth police department, which has a station maybe a quarter mile away.
The inside of the units are nice. There aren’t marble countertops or stainless steel appliances (at least not in my unit) but the feel is nice. There is wood laminate in the kitchen, tile in the bathrooms, and carpet in the living and bedroom areas. The fixtures are in keeping with the fact that the leasing office was the original train station for downtown Fort Worth (or so I’m told) and there is a cool, almost industrial feel to the lights. I love the windows in every room, they take up almost the entire wall overlooking downtown… you can’t beat the view. The bedrooms are very spacious with big closets. I don’t have a roommate, but I can easily see a roommate situation working out without any argument about who got the better room.
I have a balcony and it has plenty of room for a bench, two armchairs, a table and some plants without feeling crowded. However, for those that don’t have outdoor space, the deck near the leasing office has several patio tables and I see people hanging out there. Bonus, the Wi-​Fi from the leasing office reaches that area if you want to be on your computer. Upstairs from the leasing office is a sitting area with a private library area that they will open up if you want to study in. They also have a free coffee and hot chocolate in a small kitchen off the seating area, as well as a wine-​sharing program I’ve participated in. The property also has a dog park and seems pet-​friendly (I don’t have any pets). The pool is nice but tends to get crowded after about 3pm on weekends in the summer. My unit overlooks the pool and I can tell you there is almost never anyone in it before noon.
There is also a small gym with 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a couple weight machines and a mat with free weights. I work out here in the mornings when I don’t want to drive to the gym and there is rarely anyone there. 3 people is the most I’ve ever seen in there at one time. It has a tv by the treadmills if you like to watch tv while you run. As an avid runner, I typically run through downtown. If you run outside of business hours, you typically don’t have to contend with much traffic, especially if you run toward the TRE station (which is about a half mile away) and stick to that area of town. If you run the opposite direction, toward the Trinity River, there are trails along the river for miles. It’s roughly half a mile to get to an entrance to the river trails. I’ve never run toward I-​35, but I don’t recommend it… the line between upscale urban areas and scary happens pretty abruptly and there isn’t much lighting in that area at night.
One of the best parts of this complex is the easy access to I-​35. There is what almost feels like a back entrance to the highway that allows you to escape the downtown traffic on weekends when there are festivals or parades that clog the streets.
Some reviews have mentioned the train; there are tracks close to the property on both ends. I’ve never been bothered by it as there is a city ordinance in place that keeps them from blowing their whistle as they pass.
As for the entertainment, you are only about a 5 min walk from a recently renovated movie theater, tons of both upscale and casual restaurants, bars, Bass Hall, comedy clubs, piano bars, the Fort Worth Water Gardens, Sundance Square, and so many other fun places. If you like live music, specifically country music, Panther Island Pavilion is a short walk away (look it up online… its amazing). I love that there is a heavy police presence and private security everywhere. I’ve never felt so safe walking around a downtown in my life. You are also about a $ 5 Über ride from the West 7^th district and Magnolia Ave where the nightlife continues if you want to go beyond downtown.
More than all of that, though, is that I love how friendly and accommodating the staff are. This is the fifth city I’ve in over the past 10 years (I move often as part of my job), and the staff here is easily the friendliest I’ve ever had to deal with. If you want to feel like a valued tenant after you sign the lease, this place is where you want to live.

Just can’t say enough good things about living at The Depot. From the management to the amenities and Floorplan this apartment complex is a cut Above.

The Depot has a SoHo New York feel to it and for the most part the neighbors are hard working people. The time I’ve spent here not once did I have to complain about anybody. Parking is first come first serve so its a little annoying walking from one side of the complex to the next after a 14hr shift at work. Still, if you can get past that then its a great place to live. I’ve lived here for a year now and I love the fact that its a short walk away from Sundance Square and far enough from the hype and noise that comes with living in the city.

I’ve lived here for over six months now, and could not ask for a better experience. I’ve rented various places in the DFW metroplex, and by far The Depot is a cut above the rest.
The problem with most apartments is variety. You’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all, and the «average» apartment complex is very boring. The Depot offers a unique living environment, a fantastic location, and an amazing staff. The converted industrial train depot into a loft apartment complex gives this complex a vibe and feel that you can’t find anywhere else. It’s a modern layout with a steampunk-​like atmosphere. Being a short walk away from the Flying Saucer and the AMC theater, the rest of downtown is easily accessible. The staff here are also phenomenal, going above and beyond and always exceeding expectations. They have genuine care about their tenants, a refreshing change of pace that many people could only wish for.
Bottom line: you want to live here.

After greatly enjoying my time while living at Firestone on the Upper West Side, I had high hopes and expectations for The Depot. Unfortunately, outside of the location, I can’t come up with many positives.
First and foremost, I will say the apartments are aesthetically pleasing. They look nice from the outside, and they look new and polished on the inside as well. However, the building itself seems to have been very cheaply constructed. The walls are paper thin, especially the ceiling. I lived on the third of four floors, and I could literally hear every single thing my upstairs neighbor did (take a step, flush the toilet, vacuum, listen to music, etc.). It was as if an aerobics class took place upstairs. This often woke me up at 6 a.m., and kept me up beyond 12 a.m. Beyond that, the hallway noise was just about unbearable. The Depot is built using long, connecting concrete hallways, thus any noise echoes incredibly loud throughout the complex. Having a neighbor who felt it was appropriate to smoke in the hallway while talking on speakerphone at 1 a.m., this obviously became a frustrating ordeal.
I would also highly caution any potential tenant with a family to avoid living here. Beyond the obvious noise issues, the pool is often littered with music-​blaring twenty-​somethings who drink heavily. I’m in my mid-​twenties, but even then I felt that I was surrounded by people who still want to pretend they are in college.
If you can snag a top floor apartment, The Depot would probably be a phenomenal place to live. The office staff is friendly, and the maintenance crew was helpful as well, but their positive attitudes aren’t nearly enough to overcome the deficiencies at The Depot.

I have lived in several places and leased at multiple apartments, and by far The Depot has been my best experience. The location is amazing, being right outside of downtown you can walk there in three minutes. Plus, with the new Sundance Square renovation — it’s only getting better! The staff is amazing, always friendly and so helpful. The property is always kept clean, and parking has never been an issue. I cannot express enough what a great place this is to live and play!

This has been my first place off campus. I didn’t want one of those huge, sprawling apartment complexes and this apartment was fairly close to my new job (and I didn’t want to live in the ghetto). Plus, the architecture was great! I signed for a loft. I really liked the layout, the nice appliances, and the high ceiling. The Depot is definitely a little pricey; I was originally shooting for the apartments nearby, which are comparable in price, have a yard, and include a washer/​dryer. I had to rent a dryer from the Depot.
First, the good. If you ever, ever need anything, ask for Matt in the office. Maintenance was always prompt– one time making it to my apartment ten minutes after I got off the phone! Having anything fixed was never an issue. Also, when I was short on money this last month due to moving costs, Matt was more than willing to accommodate me and allow me to pay my rent at a later due date. For that I am grateful. The staff here is great and were never a cause for concern. They don’t let people get away with keeping a bag of trash on their doorstep very long without a nastygram left on their door.
With that being said, I did have a few issues. They started right away as soon as a I moved in. My downstairs neighbor was always pounding on the ceiling and accusing us of being loud. I started a log after their first call to the police. It included such as absurdities as «7÷29÷09: 11:23 AM. Dropped the remote control on the floor. Neighbor then banged on the ceiling.» A conversation with the courtesy officer revealed that the only people that ever have had noise issues with neighbors is between the third and fourth floors, which seem hollow. This problem was long standing and so infuriating by the time I was ready to break the lease, the problematic neighbor was moving out that week. Since then, new neighbors with a large, noisy dog moved in. At first I didn’t mind (just because it is a marked improvement over the last neighbor), but the howling got annoying quickly. Many people in this complex own dogs (there’s a new, mini-​dog park recently put together by the Depot) and I’ve stepped in poop more than once. There are many available areas on site where people can take their dogs (bags included), so I wouldn’t fault the complex, just inconsiderate neighbors.
One big problem that happened shortly into my lease was that the fire alarm for the whole complex went off for several hours in the middle of the night. All of my neighbors were standing in the hallway outside and calls to the complex went to a call center who told us that she’s paged the manager but nothing more can be done. The noise was piercing and there was no escape from it. I was very angered, as I had to be up at 5am to work a 12 hour shift. I don’t believe this incident should have ever occurred, but to be fair, it never happened again.
Parking can be an issue, especially during weekends. I lived in the sixth building (the building with the most available parking) and only twice in the last year was I forced to park elsewhere. Not having assigned parking is irritating, as well as no covered parking if you live on top floors (I think a garage is an extra $ 200 a month). Also on weekends, you do get a bunch of random people in the parking lot being loud; not only because it’s the weekend, but from people wandering back and forth downtown. Parties can be loud and out of hand (I remember a party on the first floor that woke me up all the way up on the top floor). I tried getting the courtesy officer to address it, but was told by the after hours call center that I had to call Fort Worth city police. I haven’t noticed any problems when I switched to night shift, however.
And while my apartment is beautiful and I loved to entertain in it, there are a couple things architecturally than can be improved. First, there’s no light over the kitchen sink (in the loft, anyways). The cabinets can be pretty small, too. I can’t fit my colander in any of them. Also, the bathroom is a dark dungeon. I actually have to apply make up in the living room. A friend of mine commented that, since I drop over a grand a month in rent, you’d think the counters would be real granite. But it’s rental property and I chose to sign here in lieu of a brand new car, so w/​e.
All in all, a nice place, especially if you get weekends off, enjoy the nightlife, and don’t have to wake up early.
