Texas State Optical in Fort Worth is a Modern Eye Care Practice that promotes great customer service in a friendly environment. Excellent Eye Doctors and Staff specialize in all aspects of Eye Care including general family vision, specialty contact lenses & unique frames/​lenses for glasses. Our Therapeutic Optometrists and Optometric Glaucoma Specialists are well educated on diseases of the eye — many of which do not always have obvious symptoms — as well as eye infections and other conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, & dry eye syndrome.

Prior to joining TSO, Dr Matthew Barber specialized in ocular disease at Young Eye Institute in Lawton OK and was Executive Director of American Laser Vision here in Fort Worth. During her internships, Dr Cassie Rogers specialized in pediatric optometry care & specialty contact lens fitting at the Bellaire Family Eye Care in Houston; then provided medical-​based eye care with emphasis on glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy & cataract management at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas.

History

Established in 1936.

Texas State Optical is one of Fort Worth’s oldest and most respected optometric practices, providing eye care services for over 50 years. In September 2001 Dr. Matthew G. Barber began seeing patients on Camp Bowie Blvd at TSO Fort Worth, formerly known as TSO Ridglea. For over a decade the eye doctor has worked diligently to provide cutting edge eye care and a warm environment for his patients. Dr Rogers is excited to be the newest member of the Texas State Optical team (as of June, 2015) and looks forward to serving the eye care needs of the wonderful people of Fort Worth, and its neighboring communities.

Business Owner

Dr Barber attended Oklahoma State University, was one of OSU’s «Top Ten Freshman» men, was a member of the President’s Leadership Council, Oklahoma State Spirit Group, & the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He received his Doctorate in Optometry and a Vision degree from Northeastern State University graduating with honors. His true passions is spending time with his wife and 3 kids. He also considers his patient’s «family,» and enjoys discussing sports, life lessons, and gathering parenting advice along the way.

Dr Rogers graduated from Texas A&M University, was a member of the Aggie Optometric Organization. Then was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honors Society and obtained her Optometry Degree graduating Magna Cum Laude at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association, as well as the American Optometric Association. She enjoys fishing, boating, any outdoor activity imaginable, and cheering on her Texas A&M football team!
