Awesome online check in so you don’t have to wait 1 – 2 hrs at the place. Just show up 5 mins before your time. Makes thing painless and not wasting your time. You are updated on your phone texts telling you how long the wait is and when to show up.
I actually make the drive from Roanoke to come here for this. Instead of waiting 2 – 3 hrs in Denton. I would rather do some shopping near by. Visit some friends in the area. Then go when my number is near so my wait inside is minimal.
More DPS, DMV, SS offices should do this!!! Loving it!
It even announces the last four digits of your phone number loud and clear and tells you which window to go to. And this place actually has a lot of people working! Thank goodness!

Rude staff. Didn’t need a lecture this early in the morning. Also I would have been out 30 min faster if the website accurately called out every document I’d need. Had to get out of the virtual line, go to car, rejoin.

The estimated wait time was 74 min. 100 min later they called and said it would be 19 min. 50 min later, still waiting. What exactly is the point? Feeling hangry.
Update: 20 min after I left my review I now supposedly have to wait another 30 min. For some reason I’m not so sure.

Excelent service! The online check-​in is so convenient. Never going to another location again!

I just went to apply for a new TX driver license. There was no line for the info desk. But the man at the desk informed me that there is a 10 hr 5 min wait. I could not believe my ears so I asked him again. He repeated, without once bothering to look at me. He did not suggest making an appointment or suggest the get in line online feature. He also didn’t explain what would happen to my place in line after they closed for the day, as it was already 12:30. Completely useless. I don’t understand the previous rave reviews at all!

No complain at all, absolutely good service. Used their Messaging Q Less System and it worked perfectly fine for us. we went there to change our out of state DL. We forgot to take our Texas Residency Document print out, Customer Service on the Front Desk helped us to print out. Although we lost our que, but Letter ‘J’ magically worked for us to be on the line again in no time. Highly recommend Folks to use their Q Less system to avoid long lines and waste valuable time. Thanks FW DPS folks for your wonderful service.

For a DPS this location is super efficient! The workers are nice & helpful and they keep you informed of the progress. I was able to run to Target while waiting and never lost my place in line.

The DMV horror stories are put to bed here! This is my favorite DMV you can call the number and get in line before you arrive. There is always someone at the front directing traffic so there is no jams. The people are ok, but the system itself is more than enough to receive a five star rating. I tell everyone to go to this one even if the don’t live near by because it’s worth it.

The get in line online technology is bunk. The message told me the wait time would be 155 minutes. 2 hours and 11 minutes later, I get a text saying the wait was 86 minutes. When I asked why, they told me that if people miss their number being called, they can rejoin the line in the same spot ahead of you they were in before. That’s not right. This system is horrible and a waste of time. Too bad I’m invested the time now, or I would be out of here!

I went here for the first time yesterday and was there for about an hour. Which isn’t that bad in my opinion. Be sure to take advantage of their phone system though!

I can’t believe I’m giving a DPS 5 stars but these reviews don’t lie!
I’m so thankful I looked up different DPS’ on Unilocal.I had never considered there being a difference between them. I just assumed the worst of all of them! This is another step in the name change process I’ve been putting off because I was dreading a multiple hour wait at some hole in the wall. This was NOT the case here!
I was in and out in 20 min! It would have been 10 had I filled out the paper work before hand!
I followed a tip on Unilocal and I checked in online! Best tip I’ve ever received! You are able to check in before you even get there. Then you receive a text telling you what place you are in line and how long you wait is.
I checked in online before I even left my house and I was shocked to get a notification that my wait time was 9 minutes… That was it!!! It took longer for me to drive there than that! So I jumped in my car and headed off! I saw I wasn’t going to make it and simply texted ‘m’ and was pushed back a couple minutes! I actually had to add time on to my wait because I wasn’t ready!
When I walked in I was pleasantly surprised to find a super nice and clean facility! There was staff waiting at the front to help you with check in if you need it and then another to help you find the right form!
You can track your status and wait time on their screens or you can text ‘s’ to the number you checked in with and it updates you right away!
The lady I saw when it was my turn was very sweet and quick to the point! Even when my summer teacher brain skipped a section on the form she actually filled it out for me!
Seriously I will never go to another DPS again! I’m a little upset I never knew about this place before. It is not the closest DPS to my house but is beyond worth the little extra drive! I highly recommend going here and checking in before you even go!

Well run, organized. Your cel phone is your line number and they will text when your turn is near or you can text an S at any time to check line position and wait time so you can run errands while waiting. much much much better than carrier pkwy site in grand prairie

Very clean professional set up. Was in and out in no time a different set up than I’m used to the people were very professional and courteous will definitely be back

There are 4 Lines and 3 of them move at quick paces, EXCEPT…
1. Renewals — People move fairly quickly in this line
2. Written and Driving tests — Normal Wait
3. New DL’s or ID’s — You don’t move at all AND you can have people bumped up in front of you who missed their appointment or were in the wrong damn line to begin with. So if you think are #4 with 11 minutes left in line don’t be surprised if you look up a few minutes later and see your #8 with 25 minutes.
4. Is for Other Requests — Disabilities, Address Changes, adding Restrictions, Etc.
I singed into the Online Kiosk in Flower Mound with a 1h and 30 minute wait, got to Ft. Worth and was #11 in line with 23 minutes remaining, 2.5 Hours later I was finally being called. What?

If you are in this line don’t even bother showing up early unless you received a txt from the DPS saying you are 4 people away. Mainly because there are probably 2 or 3 more people actually in front of you, they are just in the wrong damn lines because they are dummies who didn’t read the Kiosk or Online Kiosk directions, and yes DPS will bump them up to the correct line. Even tho they are morons who should have to wait back in the back of line because they were too lazy, busy, or just plain too dumb to read the simple Kiosk directions.
** AND if a person gets called before you forgets to bring their required documents or cash, forms, legal docs, whatever, and leave, they are given 2 hours to return, jump to the head of the line, and cut more people off because they were too stupid to read, ask for help or follow the simple directions either on the DPS website or in the pamphlets scattered throughout the waiting area.
Otherwise the people are nice and place is clean but don’t REWARD STUPIDITY!

Although my wait started out at 1 hour 56 minutes I quickly moved up the roster to 55 minutes. Although I absolutely despise most government agencies, these guys are actually doing something right for once. As soon as you walk in, you check in via a computer, input your cell phone # into it and it sends you a confirmation text. You can check your status by texting «s» to the number for an update of your position in line. I made a trip to the bank and took care of some business and had plenty of time to do it. The clerk was very friendly and upbeat despite emotions running high from frustrated individuals on either station beside us. Overall the whole transaction probably took ten minutes to complete and I was on my way, expecting my texas DL in about 10 days. A lot faster than California at almost 3 months

OMG! I used the phone number on the card (817−298−1900) and this really worked. Only 9 minutes at the DMV! It would have been less if I had printed out & filled out the online form. Good job DMV you’re doing it right!

I find it difficult to give this place 5 stars; but perhaps my prejudice is based on the previous years of despising any required trip to the DPS. The stereotypical govt employee stemmed from those misanthropic souls sneering from behind glass shields or oversized counters who could not care less how long or thick the cobwebs grew on those unfortunate souls needing the coveted stamp/​signature of the DPS. Everyone had a story of what time was best to go for the shortest wait time, and the average time always seemed to be just longer than your allotted lunch hour or the required time between getting off work and the DPS closing. In short, the DPS was the equivalent of a wasted day save the coveted license or renewal.
Thankfully, I find myself working through my prejudices as I type this as I really have nothing negative to say other than I wish it was a little closer to home. The parking lot was easy with plenty of spots. You can now ‘get in line’ using text messaging or at the kiosks provided there… you may be able to make appointments… this alone saves the agony of trying to figure out how much of your day will be wasted. We got ‘in line’ while driving still about 15 minutes away and had an 18-​min wait. You can ask for more time if you find yourself arriving later than expected.
There are plenty of seats for waiting as well as the ability to walk around. The A/​C works and the bathrooms actually function. So much different from my previous visits in years past. The new era is good!
The counters are gone and the agents actually seemed to enjoy working there. This is highly likely because of the working A/​C, well-​lit environment and ample space.
It is with much gratitude that I pass my regards to the DPS for finally making a necessary government facility enjoyable.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had having to deal with a license renewal. I couldn’t renew online for whatever reason, so I checked the website for this location, filled out the paperwork online and printed it out, then a couple days later when I had time I sent a text to get in line.
I was sent a text back before I could get there, no big deal, all I had to do was reply text and it put me back in the front of the line, which on that day, was maybe 4 – 5 other people. I went off hours and it wasn’t crowded at all.
Short wait, fast, people working were efficient and friendly. Lots of workstations instead of the 2 – 3 in the old places in the past. I don’t care where you are, but I think it’s a safe bet if you live almost anywhere in Tarrant County this is the place to go for license renewal or issues.

I was in and out of this beauty in 16 minutes and I am NOT exaggerating! First, when I searched for this DPS location online, I saw that there was a «Get in Line Online» option. As I needed to take care of this replacement license business during my lunch break, I had no time to waste! You get text alerts that let you know when you will be at the front of the line. When I arrived, I was shocked at how few people were in the waiting area. I mean, I did a twelve-​take! Anywho, I went in, sat down, and waited, and looked for my number on the screen. When you do the online option, or when you go in and put in your information on the kiosks at the front, the last four digits of your phone number are used as your wait number, which makes it easy to identify on the screen. A telltale ring will alert you to a new number being called, and the automated voice will let you know what number is next and where to go. The gentleman who helped me out was cordial and even joked a little, which was pretty unusual, but appreciated! We all know that most people who work at the DMV or DPS can be cold, calculated, and mean, lol. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s like the twilight zone here, but in a good way.
I was also so relieved I got a new picture taken! Yay for my made-​up face and cute earrings on!

Fast and easy. Around the corner behind the gas station. Directions on Unilocal are incorrect. Sign up at the computer, and wait just a few minutes to get your number called. Just try not to get a newbie to fill out your paperwork… takes forever! But the rest of the process is easy. Oh and the staff does not even know the answers to the driving test so some investigating needs to be done fo sho!
