Stir Crazy Baked Goods

First off, I absolutely LOVE this bakery (hello adam bombs); however, I’m not sure what is going on with the Daggett location. They just sold me a completely frozen cupcake and after multiple visits the bakery, they never seem to have any kind of a selection. This is especially disappointing since this is their original storefront. Definitely save your time and energy and go to the Magnolia location instead. The employees are much friendlier and they always have a huge selection of freshly baked goods.

I had some free time today and thought I would make the trek over there to get some mini pies and maybe a cupcake or two.
No mini pies available, so I got 5 cupcakes: carrot, coconut, champange, salted Caramel, and TX whiskey.
I ate the salted caramel one in the car on the way home. I was really surprised at how COLD it was. the cake was dry, the icing was pretty hard/​stiff. The cake actually tasted kind of, dare I say it, old.
No biggie. maybe it’s a bad one, right?
Tonight after dinner, I dug into the carrot cake one. It had been sitting on the counter for about 2 hours, to avoid cold cupcake. I got the same dry texture, still-​stiff icing, not great flavor. Very disappointing for me.
I’m scared to eat the other cupcakes now. :/

Finally was able to try this place out. Having an Empire watch party and decided to pick up some treats for the girls tonight. Well soon as I walked in I instantly got a sugar rush!!! The bakery smell was so yummy and made me want to eat everything and workout later. The place was small and cute. It’s so hidden that if I didn’t have Unilocal I don’t think I would’ve known it was there. The two girls were so nice and vey helpful. I was able to pick one of each of the cupcakes so I’m excited to be able to test a variety of flavors. Well of course I couldn’t wait till tonight to eat them so I had to dive in mouth first on one of the goodies. Let’s just say the cupcake was gone in 2 seconds. The inner fat girl in me took over… lol. So good and can’t wait to get feedback on all the flavors from my friends. Check this place out my fellow Unilocalers.

Literally just had my first experience at Stir Crazy and am completely underwhelmed. I’ve never been here before and was looking forward to the visit due to all of the other hype and reviews. The location is adorable and the baked goods looked delicious but I cannot emphasize enough how lacking it is as far as staff. No one offered to help me navigate the pastry cases or asked if I had been in before. I stood around aimlessly while two employees and I’m assuming the owner basically ignored me. I know it seems pretty simple to be able to pick out cupcakes without the assistance of an adult but the vibe was off putting and cold from the employees. Let’s hope their sweets are to die for or I won’t be returning.

Great customer service! We loved the red velvet cake for my daughter’s birthday! It was so moist!

I just think this place is wonderful. It’s so warm, welcoming and ohhhh the baked goodies here are delicious. I just moved from Fort Worth a few months ago and it’s definitely one of my most missed spots. Try the cinnamon rolls, they’re my favorite!

Simply amazing! This is the bakery everyone wishes their town had. High quality ingredients, amazing creativity, great customer service and always fresh. The adam bombs are my very favorite! If we are in the area and they are open we always stop by.

Great staff, friendly atmosphere. The turn of the century storefront is a nice escape.
Scones are excellent! Not too dense, not too sweet, but definitely not bland.
Cupcakes are very rich, with creative flavors.
Cookies very good — moist but not to much, definitely not crumbly.
Prices are pretty good unless you’re getting a dozen of something (but they might have a discount for that).
The only thing that would make it better is fancy French press coffee… but they are a bakery, not a coffee shop so I’ll cut ‘em some slack.

I dropped in, after getting my hair done at The Salon Upstairs. I bought some mini fruit pies and atom bombs. Everything was so delicious! I fully intend to go back and try more. Or maybe just eat a dozen atom bombs.
I’m so excited to have found a delicious local bakery!

This bakery just ruined a birthday celebration. Robbie, the owner, I suppose, took absolutely no ownership over the mistake she and her employee made… Which was to bake a birthday cake that they never baked.
When placing the order, I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with Cathy, who I think is Robbie’s mother, had a nice conversation with her and went through specifics of the cake I was ordering and when it was to be ready. Cathy and I talked about the party that was going to happen with this gluten free banana cake at the center of the celebration. We are in town with a play, and Cathy and I talked about making the design on the cake representative of the show… she got my number and name but wouldn’t take my credit card, saying that I would pay for it at pickup. When our company manager went to pick up the cake, it had not been baked.
We had tables full of people waiting in a park to celebrate with this cake (because it’s not very easy to find cakes for a gluten free birthday boy in Texas, and we were all excited that we had one coming), and I got a call from our company manager saying that they «thought I was going to call back to confirm the order» so they didn’t make it. I spoke with Robbie on the phone because Cathy wasn’t there.
I understand that mistakes happen, and I suppose Cathy never entered the order in the system, but what really gets me is that never once did Robbie apologize for this mistake, nor did she take any responsibility for it. Absolutely no appropriate customer service. Her only suggestion was a gluten free flourless chocolate cupcake she had on hand and her assumption that the birthday boy would «love it». I did not agree and she hung up the phone on me.
Our manager arrived with the 1 cupcake for the party, the birthday boy ate it and remarked that it was dry. I’ll add that it was ugly too.
I am very dissatisfied with Robbie at this bakery and I would advise that if you don’t have another option for your special order, make sure you get a confirmation number.

I went to Stir-​Crazy this summer and ended up just getting a Topo Chico and talking with the owner for a while. (Also I would like to note that the words «Topo Chico» come up in my reviews a lot.)
In October, I commissioned Stir-​Crazy to make me the best birthday cake on the planet. A gluten-​free strawberry basil cake with lemon icing! Yuck, you say? Well you are WRONG. Even my father, who doesn’t like anything with green in it, loved this cake. My mother also started giving away pieces at the bowling alley when I wasn’t looking because she wanted everyone around us to know how great it was, too.
(Once I caught her, I just carried the cake in its box around the bowling alley, protecting it.)
Daily, they won’t have gluten free things. But if you need to order a dozen cookies or something similar, she’ll whip up some gluten free deliciousness for you.

By far the best bakery around! I was getting ready for a 2-​day company event with approximately 60 attendees –I needed dessert for one night, individual boxes of breakfast goodies for multiple meeting rooms and cookies for lunch. All of this was needed the week after Thanksgiving.
I went to just about every bakery in downtown Ft Worth – I didn’t tell anyone I was scouting for an event, I just bought a few samples to try before ordering from anyone. I was so disappointed with the customer service and quality of baked goods everywhere I went – until I walked into Stir Crazy – before 8 am one day, no less.
I was greeted like an old friend and offered samples of a new flavor of cup cake that had just been created – and this was not even the owner. It only got better from there. I placed my order and it was executed perfectly, even with all the special requests I had. Everything was AMAZING.
As a matter of fact, everything was so good that I have run out of time to do my own personal holiday goodie-​making. I started to stress out, then I remembered – Stir Crazy! I have made it easy on myself and ordered all my holiday goodies for my family from Stir Crazy.
Don’t let the cozy atmosphere and so very friendly folks inside fool you – this is one very serious bakery that can handle any size job no matter how complicated – while being great to work with to boot!

Where to begin?
I could write a few pages on the details surrounding my experience with Stir Crazy and their complete lack of service. Manners and decorum completely escape the people operating the phone and/​or the storefront. However, this detailed post would be deleted in short order. A number of honest, detailed, specific reviews were deleted from this business’s Unilocal account recently. I wonder why… Somehow, only the positive reviews remain. Astonishing!
The owner and proprietor, Robbie, is a bully. I had the misfortune of watching her berate an elderly employee while purchasing a cinnamon roll on a Saturday morning. It was incredibly uncomfortable; Robbie thought this individual was operating too slowly. Interesting position for a «boss» to take when she couldn’t manage to fill an incredibly simple order a few weeks later for a baby shower.
The details of said order were simple. Cupcakes and «Adam Bombs». A dozen or so of each. I called beforehand to confirm the details. I also went in and spoke to Robbie in person to be certain. After all, this was my future nephew’s baby shower.
As you can imagine from my tone, the order wasn’t correct. The cupcakes were stale; baked the day before and dry. The «Adam Bombs» were an entirely separate fiasco. All you prospective customers should know that the end result was a phone call from Robbie herself which entailed her attempting to prove she «was right» about the order being late. My fault she stated. I laughed and hung up the phone.
I didn’t ask for favors. I called weeks in advance. I confirmed in person. I paid for baked goods. I was verbally berated and the goods were stale. No one at the shower ate the cupcakes or «Adam Bombs» from Stir Crazy Bakery.
I will not be returning. I tell every mother, co-​worker and friend about this experience when people ask for bakery advice.
Do business elsewhere.

Love love love all of her vegan baked goods. Vegan cinnamon rolls are awesome. Robbie is the greatest. Willing to try new and different things.

A cute neighborhood bakery with delicious treats. My favorite is the salted caramel cupcake. It’s to die for. I like that they have a fun variety of stuff — not just the standard chocolate cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, blueberry muffins, and chocolate chip cookies. (They also have Vegan options!)

Yay! So happy to find a bakery that is affordable and super yummy! Ordered a dozen Rahr & Sons Uglypug beer cupcakes for my hubby’s birthday. He loved them! There were so many types and flavors to choose from. I will definitely return.

LOOOOOVE the cupcakes. All others pale in comparison to the tasty treats they come up with here. I have never had a flavor I didn’t enjoy. The vegan chocolate with peanut butter icing is my favorite. The cake is moist-​the icing creamy with a light texture. My mouth is watering just thinking about eating one! I love that they will also come out to events locally and sling goods too. I’m always excited to see them at Near Southside gatherings.

I cannot thank Robbie enough for her work on our wedding dessert bar. The cakes were delicious and perfect … subtle flavors and pretty frosting … cupcakes were amazing and the adam bombs are CRAZY good.
Everything was perfect and she worked with us in her super sweet store to put together a killer dessert bar that wowed everyone. Everyone has talked about the desserts since the wedding and I couldn’t be happier that we worked with Robbie.
Honestly, she’s just a good person, too. Give her a shot for that, at least. Let her win you over for sure with the food. But trust that you’ll be supporting a cool, local shop owner who bakes little slices of tempty, tasty heaven in Fort Worth.

I have been gobbling down Stir Crazy cakes and cupcakes from Avoca for the past 9 months, but now I love stopping by their sweet little store front. The bakery is so cute, with a handmade, wooden sign out front and a few little tables and chairs, with local art on the walls.
Inside, they have an enormous case with so much variety — from little two-​bite cookie-​frosting sandwiches (Adam bombs) perfect for a light bite, to cakes and cupcakes in flavors from the standard Italian Cream to a Vegan Guacamole (lime cake with Avocado frosting). Their chocolate and peanut butter cake is to-​die-​for!
I need to go back and test out more flavors, but so far, everything has been delicious. I have even enjoyed the vegan-​selection, as a non-​vegan, which is impressive. My only comment is, if you aren’t a vegan, you have to go for the normal cakes — the texture of the frosting is supreme, whereas the vegan ones aren’t quite as velvety. If you are a vegan, I can’t imagine you are eating better baked goods anywhere in Fort Worth.

Gentrification at its finest. Modeled after the boom in Brooklyn, the Southside of Fort Worth has had a recent influx of restaurants, shops offering homemade stuff, hip coffee joints, and, well… there is one fine brewery in the area, to boot. Artisan bakeries are often associated with cities that are really starting to make strides in the food world.
So, I came across some of Stir Crazy’s baked goods at another local institution one morning, and I thought I would give them a shot. I mean, how does a double chocolate cupcake at 8AM NOT appeal to you, especially when it is baked locally? As a rule of thumb, you should always strive to go for the selections crafted by an institution that is within a close proximity to the place at which you purchase your tasty morsel.
The cupcake was really sweet and really chocolatey, and it will no doubt appeal to all those who like «cute» sweet tooth grub. It was not as moist as I would have liked, but perhaps it was from the day prior. Regardless, Stir Crazy is really putting Fort Worth on the map, and for that, I commend them!
