Great neighborhood park with simple amenities and riverside elegance. Lots of space to play and great access to the river. The Oakhurst Cycling Club leaves from this park for all their rides.

I found this park to be A-OK and a great place for an impromptu picnic with an order of tamales from Tio’s. It was clean and definitely popular. Several families played nearby. Available were picnic tables, playground equipment, and plenty of open space. Parking is limited(at least at the south end, off Belknap, which is where we parked), but due to the lack of major amenities, I doubt it will become a problem. Bottom line: Best part was watching all the people stuck in traffic on I-35W. PS. Russell R.‘s link yielded a blank page, so I don’t know what improvements, if any, have been made.

If you’re looking for lots of space in your park, then Riverside Park might be your kind of place. I’m not very fond of this park due to the minimal amount of stuff to do there, the condition of the equipment(plus litter), strange looking guys sleeping on the tables, and the very, very little parking available(for a park of it’s size). Thankfully the City of Fort Worth is planning on making improvements in the future( ), but till then the only thing that I’ve seen people do here is park, have family get-togethers and play soccer. BTW, there is a playground area(with swings) at this park. I just couldn’t take a picture of it because it was covered in kids(and I feel a little weird taking photos of other people’s children, so if you go out there try to take a pic for me).
