Overtime Bar and Grill

My first and my last time here so you get my biased opinion.
First, not a big fan of smoke, I can tolerate some but OMGosh, this joint is not my place. The exterior doors lead you to little lobby that you pass through to a second set of doors to get inside the lounge. When we walked in, I immediately smelled the smoke and when we opened the second set of doors, it hit me like a wall.
There were only 4 other patrons in the place when we showed and it smelled like 100’s had been Smoking in there. SO no fans, no form of moving air and defiantly no signs of fresh air anywhere.
My friend and I had the lunch special of hamburger and fries at $ 4.99. The hamburger was good. Veggies on it was fresh and the bun was not stale. The burger and fries were your typical frozen cooked, and they were fine, cook to be expected. I was not wow’d by the meal but ate it. Waitress was really young and nice.
Because we had to go back to work, we did not participate in an adult beverage, so I could not judge on that.
When I left, I wanted to go home and shower because I smelled like I had been clubbing all night and we were barely in there for 45 minutes. I have been into restaurants/​bars that allow smoking. But this one is the worse. It smelled bad!

I had never seen or heard of this place until recently. I only saw it because I missed my turn, and ended up on a street I don’t normally go down. I was looking for a place to eat, and after seeing this decided to give it a try. On the outside they were advertising a lunch special for Burger/​Fries $ 4.99, which I decided to do. I grabbed a seat at the bar, declined a menu and ordered the lunch special and a Shiner. Unfortunately there was a problem with the Shiner tap, so I got a Sam Adams. I’d rather have had the Shiner though. Apparently they didn’t have bottles, because she didn’t offer one of those. And since a beer was almost as much as the lunch special ($ 4 for the beer and $ 4.99 for the burger/​fries), it would have been nice to get what I wanted. The bartender wasn’t very friendly, I kind of got the impression she had a lot of prep work to do and maybe I should have gotten a table or something. For a Sports Bar, they really don’t seem to be putting in much effort. Sure, they had countless TV’s on the wall, but even though there were college basketball games and MLB spring training games going on, they were all tuned just tuned SportsCenter. The burger wasn’t bad, but nothing special. Just lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and mayo. Not bad, but I’d rather have had a Whataburger or something.

Their service is an epic fail. Waitresses ignore you… takes 15 – 20 mins to get your drink, if you are asked to place an order. They try to add things to your tab that you didn’t order. Our group will now drive the extra five mins to flips or boomerjacks after work.

Two words… Crap hole! We were in this smoke filled cess pool for ten minutes tops! We couldn’t even get the time of day! To say the staff is not friendly is a huge understatement! I’d say they’re bitter and pissed that they’re at work! It’s unfortunate because the spot they occupy would be better suited to a business that actually cares about the customer. Stay away if you like good customer service and your lungs…

Love this place. First time here and we weren’t disappointed. Cold beer, good food, not a a loud rowdy croud. We came during a. Cowboy’s game and was glad it was not packed. We have been looking for a local bar with good food and it looks like we found it. Will be back!

When this place first opened, I’ve never had issues with getting any kind of service. Lately, with the constant change of staff (waitresses), I have been getting horrible service. Even when I call in my order for lunch, my food is never ready & by the time I do get it, the food is not cooked correctly or it’s cold. They are not friendly & only pay attention to their everyday regular customers. It’s also not a pleasant sight when some of the waitresses shouldn’t be wearing short skirts where their cellulite is showing or half their butts. Sorry to say, but I will not be coming in anymore.

I like this «hole in the wall bar». Its laid back and easy to enjoy. It my kind of place but I realize that is not what everyone is after. Its got a blue collar feel. The staff is easy on the eyes but they don’t play games to try to flirt more tip out of you. They do their job, making sure you as a customer is happy, otherwise they leave you alone. The drinks are good and are well poured. I did not try the food but what I saw at the bar seem look like large servings. The music was good and it was just loud enough. Thanks for a good time. I’ll be back.

Meh, I’ve never had a problem with Overtime. Been going there since it was open. I think it’s just the new staff «security/​bouncer «whatever you want to call him. He’s suppose to check IDs at the entrance but here he is in everybody’s business … Lame. And then he goes and throws all our pool balls in the pockets in the middle of our game… What a waste of money. I recommend not to go when «Big light skinned guy» is there. Even waitresses tell me it’s wack. Guess day time hours are a thumbs up

I stopped here with about 30 other motorcyclist and wasn’t sure how the establishment would handle the crowd. I was very impressed! The manager came outside to make sure we were okay, the server was very attentive as well. The food looked good, I didn’t eat but some friends did and they liked it. I’m just really impressed with the customer service and would definitely go back.

After coming here a few times, I’ve decided to give it a more in depth review of this place. First of all, this place is very smokey. Its overpowering even when you are a smoker like I am. Décor are nice, definitly not a hole in a wall kind of bar. TVs are everywhere which is great. Service on the other hand is not so great. Unless your sitting at the bar, the chances for you to get a refill on your ice cold beverage on time is not likely. Waitresses are more interested in chatting among themselves or texting on their phones than to actually do their job. Guys to girl ratio are about 10 to 1. Most of them are there for the cheap happy hour drinks like myself. Haven’t had a chance to try any of their food items just yet so I cannot comment on that. Overall its not a bad place if you are close by and looking for cheap drinks.

Downhill service recently. Been coming off and on for 11 months. Decreasing service and food quality every time.
Place is extremely smokey at times. While I don’t mind this at a usual bar, half the time Overtime doesn’t have their fans on. It’s like walking into a wall of smoke. You have that «need a shower» feel when you leave.
Food and drinks are cheap, but taste cheap as well. Sadly I cannot recommend this place to coworkers like I used too. I will not be back anymore.

Came here to watch a playoff game and it was an OK experience. The waitress we had seemed a little disinterested and wasn’t attentive as I would like from waitstaff. The drinks were good and my order of chicken wings was as well. They had plenty of screens showing the game but a lot of people weren’t there for that which made the atmosphere a little subpar.

My pops and I used to frequent here to watch football some time back. So it hurts me to say… WTH IS GOING ON HERE!!!
Pros: Nice atmosphere, waitresses are kind, helpful and punctual! So i invited all my family & friends here… BIG MISTAKE!
Cons: HOW THE HELL YOU GONNA HAVE A TV SCREEN PROJECTOR THAT DOESN’T LIGHT UP ALL THE WAY ON SUPER BOWEL SUNDAY??? All the mini TVs work but this one big a** screen that the staff kept telling us would get easier to see as the sun went down… BULLSH*T! You couldn’t even tell who was playing due to the darn thing not lighting up! So we had to settle for the smaller but plentiful TVs around! NOT GOOD BUSINESS AT ALL! Will never watch the games here again…

cheap drinks and cute girls! we usually hit OT on Tuesdays for $ 2 you call its (crown and down i believe). I’m not sure who Kayleigh is that everyone’s complaining about but I’ve never had a problem with service here. Maybe it’s because I’ve only had the pleasure of being attended to by the night staff. Security dudes are laid back and don’t act like they’re above anyone. been here enough times that they don’t even ID us anymore. one downer is parking is a fcuking b! tch here especially during the UFC fights
can’t say much for the other watering holes in Haltom City but i do know I’d much rather come here than RedNeck Heaven

Rude Bar Staff kayleigh. Screw this place smells like an ashtray. Won’t be back. This place sucks. I should have gone to waffle house! The Grilled Chicken lunch special is great … this place need some staff training how to be friendly. Millions of places to go and made a mistake of coming here.

Waitstaff needs improvement. Kayleigh, the bartender, was not friendly and kind of rude. Not sure bartending is for her. I see why she is the day bartender…
Chicken sandwich lunch special is a good deal.
The entire place reeks of smoke. Open the doors or get better ventilation.
Maybe these are the reasons why the place was dead in the middle of lunch rush hour? Train the waitstaff and limit the smoking.

well, four star for yay! I’m a fan of your food! not the half naked girls in lingerie taking my order. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but keep that stuff in the bedroom! hahah jk
my coworker told me to try this place out! what he forgot to tell me was that the place is reek with cigarette smokes and the guy girl ratio is like 5 to 1 girl. Well, that’s how it was at 5 pm on a Tuesday. The place was busy for a weekday dinner and there wasnt any game on at all.
Anyway, I just got a single burger with everything on it and it was so cheap and delicious!!! they give you fries and a pickle to go with your burger, too. It was one of the best burgers I have ever had «FROM A BAR!»

I wouldnt say this is the end of my search, because I do have plans to go across the whole DFW area to find the great spots! And thats fine, Ill bring the money with me to support my habit! Though, I find this bar in Fort Worth. Lets just say, the older guy that greeted us at the door. Priceless, i dont know if he is just the door guy or the owner /​bar manager! But this guy is a great person and perhaps makes the bar something unique!
The bar is hidden in the middle of motel/​hotel land off some highway. I dont recall as Im not from this area and traveling to every bar in DFW. So, with that being said the attraction of all types of people is a must! Which is why I perhaps like this place. It had a great flavor or people! Asian host staff, Texan looking door guy /​manager to greet people and has open arms for you, great looking white /​hispanic bar staff and not to mention the travelers! I mean you get rough necks, you get bikers, corp people, jocks, preps, women that are bouncing of walls, creepy guys that look like they have been on the road for days, normal guys eatting and playing games. Needless to say, i felt alot more comfortable and at home. Yes because the creepy guy winked at me! JK!
The drinks were on specials. I had crown and coke drinks for 2 dollars each! OMG! Seriously! I had 3 drinks and my friend at 2 beers and my bill was under 10 dollars. GHEEZ! MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL HERE I COME! But dont be fooled, this place was huge! It had a completely different back side for the pool tables, café looking area to eat, huge bar to sit at with games on the counter tops, patio to eat and drunk /​smoke and booth areas to have a small family gathering if needed. This place still had the feeling of a dive bar even though its new looking and in a corp area. I think it had alot to do with the type of people and the fact the music was louder and blasting! Which I enjoyed! Bars are meant to be loud, and crazy! What kinda bars do you want to go to where you can actually hear your partner? I want to yell to my company and have a reason to brag about why my voice is going away!
I didnt have any of the food, so I cant comment there, but I enjoyed my time here and think its a great local hang out. Still not exactly what Im looking for, but it will do for the time being. It had real fun spelled out for me and perhaps the only place Ive been to in the Fort Worth area so far, that had the most women and men together at one spot. So for you single people out there, perhaps this is the place to go and have some fun.
The atmosphere just felt more laid back and free spirited! I love that feeling and hopefully it wont lose that feeling.
One bad thing though, even though the music was loud and I like that, the DJ was playing ok music and had a good selection for all different types of people in this bar BUT serious, I come from a huge entertainment back ground. YOU DONT SCATCH COUNTRY into RAP and then INTO ROCK! You can mix it, you can blend it in. but DONT do your scratching skills with it nor try to be the next DMX number 1 scratch master with those genres of music. Just my 2 cents. lol
