Specialties
LBH Research & Consulting Specializes in Attachment-based assessments and research consultations. We utilize the powerful Adult Attachment Interview (AAI) and Attachment Q-set (AQS). The AAI is used to assess a caregivers ability to provide a safe, nurturing environment for a child, and the AQS to measure the existing attachment bond with a caregiver (only for children ages 1 – 5 years). These assessments are performed for therapists, interventionists, and the courts where child placement decisions are in question. Our research services run the gamut of simple survey design and analysis, to complete longitudinal design, implementation, and analysis.
Our specialization is Attachment Theory and its application, through proven measures, in the context of helping vulnerable children receive the best emotional, psychological, and nurturing care possible. We are staunch advocates for vulnerable children, and those who serve their needs.
History
Established in 2013.
Dr. McKenzie is a Developmental Psychologist who resigned from the TCU Institute of Child Development for 7 years, leaving as the Assistant Director of Research before establishing LBH Research & Consulting, LLC. The goal of starting this company was to bring the decades of evidence-based research out of the walls of academia, and apply these principles and measures to families/children in need. What has been well-known and established by researchers for decades, has yet to infiltrate the courts, child placing agencies, and other entities that provide services to at-risk children and their families.
