Welcome to Jim Byrd Photography! We are passionate about weddings and specialize in that photography. We understand the modern couples’ expectations in terms of professionalism and personal service at all times. Besides us specializing in weddings we also handle the bridal events, engagement shots, senior photos, family portraits, pets, and commercial work.

History

Established in 1983.

Jim has always been an artist. Painting, drawing, and of course, music. But photography captured his interest, and he fulfilled his duty to country in the Navy as a Navy Photographer.

After the military, he completed his degree in Photgraphy at Sam Houston State University. Then went to work with on of the state’s premier commercial photographer. After honing those skills, he went to work for one of Texas’ top wedding & portrait photographers, and there he found his niche!

Jim has photographed over 1000 weddings in his career to date, and still has the same love and passion for the job.

Business Owner

Jim began his artistic journey in High School, as an avid painter and sculptor. After High School, entering college on a football scholarship when an injury ended his football dreams, so he returned to his artistic talents.

He entered school for graphic design, but decided to join the Navy, finding his love of photography. With the Navy, traveling the world, photographing beautiful & interesting places, along with his naval peers & civilians.

Out of the Navy, returning to Texas, Jim continued his new career, receiving training at Sam Houston State University, obtaining a B.S. in photography.

After several years as a commercial photographer, Jim started working for a wedding photographer. After gaining experience in the field with a reputable photography studio, he went out on his own & Jim Byrd Photography was born! Jim has now personally shot more than 1000 weddings, leaving hundreds of couples & families with their special memories of the day, magnificently captured forever!
