Hunters Green Apartments

This complex seemed promising when we went to look at it. We moved in February 2015 our lease isn’t up until March but we have already found our new home. After being there two weeks we knew it wasn’t gonna be great. We are paying for an updated apartment. That means updated appliances and new floors. When we got in, our fridge was updated but the dishwasher and stove were not. I wasn’t too bothered since I don’t use the dishwasher but when I tried to turn the stove on, it just smelled. It wouldn’t even get warm. We finally got our new appliances after 3 months of me bugging them because I was having to cook in my microwave. Our lease is up in 4 months and we never got new flooring. Maintenance is the worst. I have had orders in for months. Stuff as simple as a new lightbulb. I tried to buy my own and take off the maintence order and they got mad because i wasn’t using the «quality» bulbs they wanted. I took my dog to the park and watched the two maintence guys watching a movie in their car. Which seems ridiculous but i could hear it outside of the car and when they finally got out, one of them said «I could watch movies all day». They like to hang signs everywhere telling the renters what to do, but nothing gets done. The dog park ran out of doggie bags so people weren’t picking up their dog poop. The staff hung a sign about it and refilled the doggie bags but a week later, the trash can in the dog park was overflowing. There were dog poop filled bags everywhere. The entire complex is so crooked. When I bake a cake is is literally an inch thicker on one side because the oven leans. Stove top cooking is a pain because the oil goes to one side. The office staff is pleasant but half the time they have no idea what’s going on. I won’t complain about the tenants because that’s not the apartments fault, but be prepared to deal with difficult people when you move in. The tennis court is always trashed because unsupervised kids run around and throw toys and wrappers everywhere. I can’t wait to move.

This is a disgusting place to live. Neighbors are lazy. They can’t even manage to get the trash bags into the dumpster. There is always dirty mattresses and broken furniture just laying next to the dumpster. Sometimes it sits for 3 weeks or so. Usually until I complain 10 times. Then management acts like they never even noticed. I find that hard to believe because they show the filthy property. The grounds are discussing and covered in trash and dog poop. A lot of people don’t pick up after their pets and that’s gross. But that is what the ground crew should be taking care of. The dog park area was so full of dog poop I couldn’t even bring my dogs in. You could smell it before you even got inside. I’m so disappointed because when we looked at the property it happened to be clean that day. I have never seen it clean again. The tennis court gets taken over by un supervised children that again just trash the place. They leave their food and drink trash everywhere. Leave the broken toys all over. It honestly feels like we live in the ghetto. Management could care less. There had been 2 broken beer bottles outside my door not for 4 days. I have called. Just waiting to see how long it will take. DONT MOVE HERE

I rarely begin review with such bold lettering but in this case it was a necessity. If you are reading this you’re probably looking into moving to theses apartments and have seen the bad parking and maintenance reviews. I too had theses problem but the biggest and absolute WORST of all was the problem I encountered on the morning when my friends car (that had a parking permit) was stolen (towed). I noticed that there were cameras at the entrance so I told her to ask the staff to speed up the investigation. When she asked, they told her only a police officer could see them. Two days later an impound lot called her saying they had her vehicle. The company who stole the car QRP auto salvage solutions (a sketchy car lot in Mansfield) said they were told by the police to impound the vehicle, yet turned it over immediately. I urge the readers of this review to know your rights because car theft is a serious issue. I’m sure many of you spent years paying for your vehicles or are still paying for them today and can only imagine the hardship that would come with the theft of your vehicle. These thefts go unpunished because a towing company is involved but in any other case not involving a tow truck, taking someone’s vehicle is a felony. Hm old, poorly cared for apartments, with narrow parking spaces, often broken security gates, unreliable maintenance and often clueless management makes for an unpleasant stay. I’d be upset if my employer wasn’t picking up the tab. Other than being upset with my employer that is.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. At first I loved the grounds and the floor plans, but the management and the maintenance make it a horrible place to live. When I signed my lease I was told I would have all new appliances, the oven did not arrive the day it was suppose to so they just pushed the old one back in place with out plugging it in. They also removed the vent hood and left the wires hanging over the stove. I complained for 2 months and the only way I got it fixed was because my uncle is a fire marshal and they didn’t like him knowing they were in violation. The reason it took so long is because they had it marked that I received new appliances already.
My biggest complaint is the parking lot, the spots are so small that even a compact car can not park and open both doors, you have to let the passenger out then park and squeeze out. I finally broke down and paid for cover parking but those are just as small, I got lucky and have nobody on one side. The gate is constantly broken and open for days at a time. A neighbor had all 4 of his tires stolen off his truck. I’ve had many other maintenance problems, water leak next door that flooded my apartment, porch light has never worked, smoke detectors out, heater broken. One of the neighbors throws their leftovers out there window so I’m constantly walking on nasty food and having to fight my dog back from picking up chicken bones or other things that could kill her!
Management is very rude. There was a mix up with the water bills and it took four days for anyone to return my call, there is an answering service but no need to use it because I have never had anyone return my call. And now with the cold weather they take no responsibility in taking care of the parking lot and side walks. I’m looking forward to moving tomorrow, that is if I the ice melts so I can get everything out.

Hunters Green is one of the worst apartment properties that I lived in. They have policies of their own designed to rip you off at every chance they can get. And if you are not going to read and remember the entire 100 page lease to the letter, it will come to bite you. Because every time you ask them why, they refer to some secluded corner of the agreement. And for the rest they have one line ‘Thats how we do business around here.
As for the living conditions, Apartments are infested with red ants they don’t bother to clean the place either. They transferred me to a different apartment after 4 months of continuous complaints. I know people who were not helped at all and were asked to share the place with ants. Thin walls, loud neighbors, loud pipes and ACs are the only things I remember from the stay. Bugs of all sorts live with you and if you complain they tell you that’s how Texas is
Tennis court lights were damaged for several months and even when they are done it was just for namesake purpose. Swimming pool area has been under construction forever. Most of these things are there for marketing purposes and aren’t cared for at all.

Not very customer friendly. More concerned about how much money they can get from you. Huge hike in rent over the past 3yrs. Messy construction next door for the past 2yrs. New parking stickers required, but very few visitor spaces and my friends have been towed (300 $).Spaces are very small, lots of scratches and dings through the years. Lots of leaks through the years, and pipes are very loud. if you have loud upstairs neighbors you will hear everything, thin walls. Management has changed countless times since ive been there. I’m constantly worrying what i will have to pay for next. Water bills are high, and so is electric. Nothing has been updated in my home, but they want to start charging me an extra 200 $ to resign the lease. i will pass. Only good thing is not much crime, that i know of, and its very close to grocery and the mall.
