History

Established in 2006.

Houston St. Bar & Patio opened it’s doors in 2006, and since then it has grown to be a fun local spot in downtown Fort Worth. We have added a kitchen to the bar in February 2015.

Typical downtown bar with a pretty decent roof top patio. Gray selections of beer but it is mostly on bottles and cans. Bartenders are attentive and friendly. This place will definitely be on our go to list when bar hopping downtown.

Killer bar, lotsa nice folks. the drinks were two dollar domestics and 3 dollar wells. The staff was super cool and believe it or not the restrooms are clean. Mean i walked I and expected to have to clean the seat but NO I could sit right down no prob.5 stars birches. Lindsey was the best server evvah.

Always a great chill, hole in the wall kind of bar to go to. Drinks are always consistently good. The rooftop patio is very cool because you can see what’s going on, on the street below you. The staff is always nice. I’ve never been when it’s been super busy so there’s always been enough seating and room — never too crowded. However, there’s nothing ridiculously special about it. It’s a good bar, not an amazing bar. I would definitely recommend it though if you’re just looking for a place to hang out.

My friend and I had had a few drinks at two other bars in the area on a slow winter Thursday night. We were going to call it a night, but ended up deciding to get one more drink at Houston Street. The place itself wasn’t deserving of 4* in my eyes, probably closer to a 2*. But the bartender Ryan was rad and we ended up talking about movies over our beer. Super cool guy, definitely made our experience. Thanks!

The 3 stars for the food. –2 stars for the service. I ordered lunch here, just their chicken panini, and it took over 50 minutes to get my food. After the first 30 minutes I asked the woman in the kitchen and she said «just a few more minute». After 45 minutes I asked again and she seemed confused and angry that «all these people came in and ordered at the same time». Yes, that is what happens in a restaurant, at lunch time, on a weekday, when you’re a block from a huge convention center. The sandwich itself was quite tasty but I would still never go back there and will recommend that others do the same.

It’s been 5 years since I’ve been here, now I remember why, Horrible service and expensive beer. I ordered a blood and honey and a Ziegenbock cause well not a lot of choices. Tell me why it was 10.50 it was either 5 bucks for Ziegenbock or 7 bucks for revolver you kidding me I was getting Rhar ugly pug and lake wood for 3 bucks across the street at the library. He also was serving other people first after he already took my order 15 min to get two beers. Yeah you earned that .50 tip buddy definitely not coming back.

We came in on a Wednesday night, about six other people here. We ordered 4 beers. As the bartender poured the fist beer a lady asked for two mixed drinks so he stopped with our order and helped her. He then poured two of our drinks brought them to us and went back for the other two… Someone else asked for a mix drink… He stopped with our order once again and helped them. It took him over 10 minutes to get us four beers, come on now! I can’t even imagine on a busy Saturday night, about 30 minutes?!
Besides the poor service, the drinks are a little on the expensive side. $ 5 for a Revolver which is perfectly ok, yet a Zigenbock and a miller for the same price! Ouch, we should have known better when we saw such few people there.
I don’t live in Fort Worth, we usually never go to drinking in FW. Yet, if we ever do, I’ll be sure to mark them off my list.

The staff was very nice, and great service. The food was terrible… Burgers like frozen spam. More of a place to drink and hang out; was shocked to have inside smoking! Convenient but definitely not nice to leave lunch reeking.

Really cute bar and the patio is a great place to chill. Really good service and a great selection of beer. Their prices however were insane. $ 5 for one can of beer that is made in Dallas is a joke. I know micros are more expensive… but seriously. I feel ripped off. Otherwise it’s a nice bar. Just don’t drink micros.

This place was just an OK on Saturday night. The set up is solid though. Upstairs the rooftop patio and projector were fun on game night (college football). The drinks weren’t bad and the staff was nice enough. For me, I like good music and the music was top 40’s and some country…

With 45 minutes to kill waiting for the train home to Dallas I found this bar a block away off glitzier Main Street.
«So you like Dallas better than Fort Worth?»
the spirited woman next to me challenged with a squinty eye.
«People are a lot friendlier here.» I gave her.
I missed my train on purpose and stayed for 3 hours.
Houston St Bar’s generic wooded environs are familiarly comfortable, if dull, disguised the rich treasure of FW camaraderie I found there.
$ 5 Jameson was an absolute shock, providing the exact oasis from the more expensive venues on Main St that I was looking for.
When I left a lively group celebrated a birthday, all donning elaborate creations of balloon twists. I’ll come back to visit new made friends.

The place has two stories, the upstairs is outdoor and basically like a rooftop patio bar. There’s a full bar on both stories. When we came, they had a guy playing live music which was nice.
However drinks were expensive and there was like no drink specials! We went on a Thursday night and the bartender didn’t know what an AMF was and we even showed him a recipe and he made it into 2 small shot glasses and charged us $ 7 bucks each for it. And it didn’t even taste like an AMF.
They may advertise their «frozen» drinks (strawberry, mango daquiris, mudslides, etc), which are good and all, but it’s basically syrup, ice, and a shot of whatever. Something I could make at home instead.
Good place to chill with some friends but drinks are meh.

Just a real bar. There’s not a lot of frills here, and not a lot of pomp, but that’s OK, Houston St. Bar and Patio knows what a bar is supposed to be. I like that.
Lots of TVs, friendly staff, and fun patio up top. Good selection of beers, laid back atmosphere.

Houston Street Bar & Patio is a great place to grab a cold beer with some friends. They have enough TVs to catch a game with an old time classic feeling bar… Love the brick wall look. Thursday night trivia is a blast, we took 2nd place out of 10. The patio is nice place to be outside in an urban setting. The numerous large fans (and cold beer) provide much needed relief from the hot Texas nights. Also there are two projector to catch a game.
Drinks are phenomenal and verity of beer selection, service it’s also pretty good.
Reason for four star it’s the inside smoking

It’s like 2 bars in one. The downstairs is very relaxed. There is a huge bar, lots of table space, darts and pool. Trek upstairs and there’s a rooftop bar/​patio with a more club feel. Lots of dancing, not that much seating and projection screens. There’s a good selection on tap and fun drink specials. It’s a good place to take people from out of town. The staff is great. This is usually the bar I like to start out at when I’m downtown.
