Gold Party Elite Event @ The Gold Standard

Goodness those drinks were delicious. Pure gold, I tell you. I loved the Paloma, the shot was super spicey, and that other one really put me under the table at 8pm on a Wednesday. The bartenders at the Gold Standard are so awesomely helpful, nice and drunk inducing. Good times.
Enjoyed seeing all the newbies and hanging out on the breezy patio… but mostly, it was the Minotaur who made my night complete. I’m still not sure how that dude fit into the theme, but he was all sorts of good times, especially at the end of the night when he tried to take shots under his Horse Head.

As a Unilocal Party Virgin… if you havent made a Unilocal Party, then plan ahead to attend one the next opportunity you get!!! Great folks and a great time was had by all!!! Even as a first-​timer I felt like a part of the Unilocal family… maybe it was the free Coors and the Tequila… nahhhhh…ok…maybe!
Thanks to Kevin and his team for a great evening! Unilocal is hitting on ALL CYLINDERS in the 817!!! The Gold Standard was a perfect backdrop to a great party with great folks!!!

Wow… My first Elite Event… Epic…
First let me give a huge kudos to the staff, they were attentive, helpful and so much fun! I never even gave this bar a second glance when I pass by, but I feel its going into the regular rotation’s– and ANY bar with rooftop seating and a swinging bench inside (even though I had to be somewhere more stable after a few drinks) is getting a five star rating from me!
This divey little bar is a diamond in the rough! With all the swanky new set of restaurants and bars that have popped up around Montgomery Plaza its nice to have a spot where you can just chill… and I wish there were more like it!
I am not a beer girl, but the tequila options were fantastic! I usually like it straight, but the Paloma with the agave nectar and squirt was so refreshing! And whatever was in the Jalapeño shot– good lawd it had a kick…
Minotaur– you were awesome!
Kevin– great job on the venue, and I especially loved the props– if someone found my gold tooth please keep it as a token of my appreciation!

Wow, what an event. If I wasn’t already a fan of The Gold Standard, I would be now. While the drinks were seriously delicious (and copious), it’s the staff at The Gold Standard that makes it a delight. This particular event seemed particularly good for mingling. Perhaps it was the smaller space, or the adult libations, or the Minotaur (or a combination of the three), but this was a seriously fun event.

Oh and Gerald, I really did not need that extra shot. Thank goodness for In-​N-​Out Burger a bit further west on 7^th (walkable). I really needed the grease.

Great event, great people, great drinks and a lot of fun. Drank Partido tequila all night. Not bad at all. Tried a shot to make sure I could get the flavor and it was very good reposada. It had a distinctive flavor on the mineral side, but was nice and smooth. Kevin did a super job along with the staff of the Gold Standard. Bartenders were congenial, fast and adept and the drinks were good, especially the Paloma that was simply agave syrup, tequila and squirt. Sweetening up the tequila and squirt made it a little more like a margarita. We had a lot of fun; made some new friends and enjoyed the event. We are looking forward to the next one.

Anyone seen my lost Minotaur?
I had left the minotaur sitting next to the cooler filled with Coors Yellowbellys… but somehow he escaped and drank all of the Partida Tequila right next to the cooler! Well you know what they say about a drunk Minotaur… Once you go Minotaur… well I cant recall what they say because of all of those tequila shots… Cant find the animal either… but what a cool event… And I must say the gold standard came through! So did KnK (Kevin n Kendall) (thanks Marc for the great abbreviation). So KnK did a fantastic job, The props were fantastic the gold teeth had no instructions, but the crown and the other golden items were perfect… until somebody we wont name names Harry, borrowed my crown permanently… The Gold Standard is one of Fort Worth’s greatest Dive Bars! And the Elite crowd seemed to fit in perfectly… I did not see one person not having a good time, and a shout out to all the peeps in the final big picture! The owner of the gold standard, Brad went above and beyond the call of duty by giving out a round of shots to close the night… all in all this may have been one of the best events of the year… if only we could do this every Wednesday… When I am on 7^th st. I will most definitely have to stop by the Gold Standard… if nothing more just to take a shot and drink a beer!

How can you not say H311 yes” to Coors beers!?? Note that I did not say «The Silver Bullet». This is the original stuff that Smokey & The Bandit broke the law and made a movie about bringing an 18-​wheeler-​full of the yellow cans «back East».
I had never been to the Gold Standard, but it is now solidly on my watering-​hole list. The bartenders and wait-​staff were friendly and attentive (this is not just because there was free Coors).
It was great getting to catch up with Eric W, David P and Ryan F. I am not sure who the guy was in the bull/​minotaur outfit was, but He appears to be having a good time!
I would question whether the theme (wear something gold) was created to given Kendall another reason to wear the dress from the last event. Fortunately for Adam (her BF and the reason she knows about Unilocal), she wears it well. In fact, I recommend that she pull out the blue Katy Perry wig and Halloween it up next week in that outfit…
