Fossil Creek Family Medical Center

I’ve had a health issue that just came to blows in the past year. My medical history extends with this clinic and dr simonak for 20+ years. Robin prescribed me a pin medication and at first reaction I realized I’m allergic to it, again the second medication I was also allergic to. I called today with plenty of time for a response. I’ve been crying all day in pain and got a call 10 minutes till 5 saying they could not help me. For the past 2 years I’ve been without insurance and have paid out of pocket to keep my loyalties with this office. She told me that she could not help me. My mom went up to the office to plead my case and they told her that they refused to help me and said I should go to a hospital if I’m in that much pain. I don’t have insurance and cannot afford a hospital visit. Is there really nothing she could do to help me or does she just not care? I should not have to beg my doctor to help me but I begged and I was rejected. Time to find a new doctor. One that cares. I’m heartbroken. Terribly heartbroken. Will miss Dr simonak but I haven’t seen him in years anyway.

Rarely ever get to see Dr Simonak. Every appointment is usually seen by the nurse practitioner. I’ve been going to this doctor for about 25 years. It’s been the greatest up until recently. They always seem to give me a different doctor and hard to create relationships when the staff is never the same. I miss dr S! And just recently became self pay (no insurance) and I’ve been prescribed medications that have been over the $ 300 line consecutively when a cheaper version was suggested by the pharmacists, my request gets denied so I feel like I’ve wasted the expensive cost of a dr visit (when I don’t even see the dr). I feel hopeless and have been researching other options and doctors. I will miss the receptionists greatly (a fellow hockey fan and we always discuss our fav teams). Just sad it has come to this point. When I need help, I can no longer rely on the office I’ve been with for 25 years… :-(and the nurse I saw last time was very rigid and made me feel like I was wasting my time. She treated me as if I was some kind of drug addict. I contracted herpes from an unfaithful ex-​fiancé and the judging response was very damaging to my self confidence. If you have the chance to see dr Simonak, by all means take it in a heart beat but most likely the care you receive will be less than adequate. I still have pain and can’t sleep and it’s been 3 months and 2 visits and $ 400 later. Waste of my time. Time to research a new physician.

Overall this has been a great office for my hubby and myself with just a minor hiccup. (Hey, things happen sometimes) They can usually get us in same day if needed and are very thorough with our yearly checkups. I love that you can go to a website now and see all of your test results and numbers. They are growing which always affects the personal service but this is still a great office and we expect to be patients here for a long time.
We like the fact that Dr. Simonak first tries to find holistic solutions before immediately prescribing an Rx.

The previous review isn’t for Fossil Creek Family Medical Center. The same Dr. has owned it for over 30 years. His son will join the practice in 2015.
GREAT family care here! I have been a patient for 27 years. They are caring and compassionate and give great care from birth to old age.
Dr. always takes the time to listen.

I went to this clinic for 15 years. Had a bad experience with one doctor but just started seeing another on in the clinic. It was a nice small clinic with about 5 doctors. Then a large corporation came in and bought the clinic. They brought in their own people. I noticed that the office staff became very rude and not at all interested in the problems of the patients. Then the doctors changed. Because I was verbal about their abuse they refused to see me anymore. Glad it happened. I now have the nicest PCP I could ever hope for! When I drive by the clinic I see that they are not busy like they used to be. Glad to see it! Hope they go out of business!
