Fort Worth Community Credit Union

I don’t understand how anyone could be bashing FTWCCU. I’ve been a member for 11 years now and not once have I had any issues with them. And if I do, whoever I talk to has been more than willing to help and resolve my situation with courtesy. I’ve never received any unknown charges to my account either. And to all you nay sayers, no I am not an employee at this bank. Never have been. I just know a good bank when I see one.

If you’re into technology and knowing what’s going on with your accounts, keep looking do not stop here. I have been talking to them for a year and they still do not have account alert settings that work. Well, let me say work in a timely manner. IE., American Express, all of my visa and mastercard, plus USAA give me instantaneous alerts. FTWCCU takes 24 to 72 hours to tell you about a high bill pay or high withdrawal. No one at FTWCCU cares either. I’ve talked to everyone from the CMO to the IT director. They all give me excuses. If it weren’t for a car loan I have with them I would be leaving asap.

In response to Fort Worth Community Credit Union… First, your website has the Coop logo on it. When you click on the link, it takes you to a map showing your branches. This leads me and anyone who uses it to believe you are a coop branch! When in fact, this is not true. Either, 1) you need to remove this from your site, or 2) when you click on the link specifically state it is for ATMs only. Why leave the customer guessing? Be good at customer service and say it up front. If I am doing business with you, I should not have to put forth effort to do your job. I am not sure the exact date or time I contacted your office, located on Hulen, but it was around the last week of this past November. I would think that to be ranked along with the Credit Union down the road from you in «Consumer Reports» these are issues that need to be addressed. Proper communication, being clear and concise, is a very real part of good customer service.

They’re okay for a bank. Although I do have a issue that should make others worry. My wife stopped by to make a deposit and wanted to apply for credit card which they refused as she wasn’t the «man of the house». I really don’t think there is a place nowadays for that kind of attitude and will be looking for a new place to bank.

This credit union seems to have good reviews but I’m not sure why.
I recently moved to the area and switched my accounts to FTWCCU for convenience. Since the day we opened our accounts, numerous mistakes have been made (not «coding» the account properly to receive certain incentives, forgetting to order a debit card, rude and hurried customer service via phone, email, and in person, etc). I was even considering moving a vehicle loan over to them (after they sent me a solicitation about a loan promo in the mail) but whenever I call to ask about it, either nobody picks up or the person who answers does not have the information I am needing and tells me to call back. I simply asked one representative if they ever match rates on an auto refi and he couldn’t even tell me that.
Regardless of the hassle of finding a new credit union and moving my accounts, I think I may do just that as a result of their poor customer service skills.

I have actually banked here twice now. I originally started my account in 2012 with my wife. My wife had some old outstanding debt with an bank which made it where she could no longer open bank accounts however she was unaware of the when we went to open our account. FWCCU did a great job of explaining the situation. From there we were able to do our part and take care of the old debt. Once we got proof that we had taken care of that old debt FWCCU took a chance on my wife and gave her an account with me which we really appreciated. About a year later we moved away from the Hulen area over to the The White Settlement area. Unfortunately there are no FWCCU’s near by and Hulen was too far away so we decided to cancel our account and move to EECU. Let me just tell you that that was the absolute worst mistake we ever made. EECU does not care about their members like FWCCU does, read my review of them for more info about that. Long story short it didn’t take any time at all until we came running back to FWCCU asking for our account back which they gladly gave us. Now we drive all the way over to this bank from White Settlement every time we need to visit just because of the great service. I DO wish they would build a branch on the west side of Fort Worth though!!! The only complaints I have is that they charge a fee when you use someone elses ATM but this small fee I can deal with. Oh, and all of the staff are great :)

I have personal checking and savings account currently with FTWCCU. They’re just okay. Our joint accounts are with EECU. FTWCCU has charged a few fees I’ve never encountered while banking with EECU. I didn’t use bill pay within 90 days and so FTWCCU charged me a $ 5 fee for not using it. They charged me $ 3.00 to transfer a whole $.90 from my savings to checking when a transaction came through that didn’t have enough funds. I’ve always used bill pay sporadically and occasionally forgotten to transfer money from savings to checking but they automatically did it for me at EECU with no fees. FTWCCU is nice and friendly if you ever visit any of their branches but do nickel and dime you.

I have been a member since 1976 when I was still in high school. I started at the downtown location in the Federal Building and then went to the Wedgemont Circle location when it opened and followed it when they moved to the Building on Hulen. I have I always been treated like the owner of the business when making any transactions at all of the locations. This is a very good credit union to join with friendly and helpful employees to take care of your every need.

I closed my Wells Fargo account and switched to Fort Worth Community Credit Union.
Great move.
