We happened upon Donut Delight off White Settlement in Fort Worth by chance, but were surprised that others have not commented on the donuts. Donuts are fairly widespread in Fort Worth, thus expectations are high. There are many heavier set folks in Fort Worth– not the least of which, I’m sure, is due to the excellent donut options. Donut Delight is run by a small, friendly, family staff that seems to know its customers. There were several folks in line in front of us– but the staff got us all out in less than 5 minutes. This was convenient since we were in a rush Options are limited for donuts– there are several fried varieties, several cake varieties, and a couple of filled varieties. All were fresh and delicious. When we ordered a second jelly donut, the owner-operator actually went in the back and filled a then plain donut with jelly. I love cake donuts, and found the strawberry frosted cake donut to be a nice choice. I am not at all disappointed by fewer donut options, especially if this means that they’re preparing fresh donuts regularly. I imagine DD runs out of donuts each day, which bodes well. Prices were typical of donut shops– if not a bit cheaper. I believe the filled donuts were about a dollar, and the cake about 65 cents. They were a great value. We skipped the coffee, and imagine you will too– unless your coffee expectations are low. Coffee was sitting on a very dated and crusty looking Bunn coffee maker. No thanks! We’ll got our coffee at the green coffee chain down the road. There are several regulars at Donut Delight, and we think that we would be too if still lived in Fort Worth. Worth the special trip for those in town!
