Canterbury Chimney Sweeps

I called 2 weeks out and got an appointment for these folks to clean our chimney on a 11 AM on a Monday. They called on Friday afternoon and asked if they could come on Friday but if not they would see us on Monday. Monday morning I was out doing chores around our house and about 11:30 I wondering where Canterbury was. I looked at my phone and saw 2 messages one at 9:30 and one at 10:30. I called immediately back to the office. I got a very nasty old woman. I asked where they were and she said they called a couple of times. Fair enough — I didn’t know that we were confirming the appointment that morning. So I told her that and she said we would have to reschedule. I told her I took the day off to be at the house and that we really needed it done that day. She grumbled something and I told her that was not a good way to run their business. Then SHE HUNG UP ON ME. Yep, like the worlds oldest high school girl she did. She never called back. I called the technician back and never heard back from him either.
So I don’t know how they are. I guess the chimney cleaning business is so good you don’t need customers. The woman on the phone was awful… I would not recommend them. They lost my business and recommendation. If you do use them keep you phone on you at all times because she is only going to call once and treat that old lady like «soup nazi» or she will hang up on you.

We had the best experience using Canterbury! The company is full of WONDERFUL people. We received a quote from another company for $ 1,500 and Canterbury charged us a fraction of that. They did such a great job, I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Chris was prompt, professional, clean, and extremely helpful. Told me how to use our fireplace (yes– I’ve never used one) and fire starter. Our chimney was very dirty but he was in and out super fast. He obviously takes a lot of pride in his work and we won’t be calling anyone else for years to come!

I have 2 chimneys to inspect and clean, and he was fast and thorough. I had ample opportunity to ask questions and he pointed out any issues. I will absolutely recommend them for chimney checkups and I will be using them again for yearly service.
