imagine a venue that housed: bull riding, two stepping, billiard-​ing, guitar admiring, imbibing, live performing, and SO much more… yes, folks– we’re talking about billy bob’s AKA the biggest honky tonk on planet earth. you could spend days taking in the greatness that is billy bob’s, but a mere 1−2hours should get the job done.

I heard from a lot of people that Billy Bob’s Texas is a MUST VISIT if you happen to be in area. Well, we went and I wasn’t too impressed even though they advertise this place as the biggest Honky Tonk. Yes, the space the venue takes up is ENORMOUS but I don’t think it’s a very effective use of space. There’s a lot of emptiness in the venue and the dance floor is way too small. It’s also a bit too dark in there too in my opinion. Anyways, we went on a Sunday and I realize that Billy Bob’s Texas is the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights because they have real rodeos. We missed out but we did take some dancing lessons which was fun!
I’m not sure if it’s because we went on a Sunday but our $ 2 entrance fee was waived. I would be very annoyed if I had to pay a cover charge and pay for everything else in there too. But anyways, there are gift shops, photo booths, arcades, pool tables, and of course the bull pen. I see a lot of potential for the area but maybe we just missed out by coming on a Sunday. There is also a place where you can order BBQ. We didn’t eat any but we did order some overpriced drinks. As far as venues go, Billy Bob’s Texas was just A-​OK and I probably won’t be back even if I was in the area. ³⁄₅

Wow! This place is one of a kind. Its a HUGE entertainment venue with several bars, two concert stages, a restaurant, and a LIVE bull-​riding arena. They do bull-​riding on Friday and Saturday nights. They usually have pretty big name country artists play on the weekends. All the country greats have played here; Willie Nelson, George Strait, you name em they’ve played here. I’ve been here for concerts a few times and always had a great time. I’ve noticed the food has gotten way better the last year or two — had some killer bbq here a few weeks ago when I came to see Tanya Tucker. All the bartenders and waitstaff are super nice — even the bouncers were really nice and accommodating. If you’re from the area or just visiting — go here! Go on a concert night and have fun!

I am extremely disappointed in the bull riding facility not having any handicap facilities. I literally sat in my wheelchair, just outside the ‘chain’ with every bar imaginable in front of me. I was in a four foot ‘chain’ section along with the ladies selling beer. Not worth my $ 4.

Came for the first time, and gotta say it was a bit disappointing. I had heard so much about this place and being advertised as one of the biggest country bars in the world, that maybe my expectations were too high. I also should note that we showed up close to midnight and that half of the place appeared to be closed. There was only one dance floor open which was a bit cramped. Maybe this place is more fun earlier when the live music headliner is going on and the whole place is open. The most disappointing part is that we were all starving and were excited to try some of the bbq or pizza which is advertised as closing at 1 am. It was 12:40, and they were both already closed. If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, this place probably isnt for you.
It wasn’t all bad. The place does appear to be massive (when its all open) and is pretty unique. They have some cool arcades, drinks are cheap, and music was pretty good. However, Im glad that we showed up after cover cause Im not sure I would of been happy if I had to pay $ 15 to get in. Overall it was a good time, just for me it didnt live up to its great name.

Dinner and a concert tonight. I now look forward to Billy Bob’s on Friday night just to try something new on the menu.
They have changed their Bar-​B-​Q recently and I really liked the old but I must say that I like the new better. Nice job. Going back for dessert now. Buttermilk pie… Yum yum.
Last time I had the steak and it was excellent. Cooked just right and had great flavor.
The portions are HUGE. My wife and I ate on the steak and was able to still share some with my daughter.
I highly recommend this place for its food and Texas style.

I has been and I took his son and we had a great time didn’t try to be anything it wasn’t the food was bar food and the beer was Barbier and we got to watch people dance and wonderful attractions on the wall the bathrooms were clean I think because we went during the week and there weren’t that many people that we were able to have a quiet experience i’m not sure that I would’ve had the same experience if I had gone during the weekend or when the concert was on but there were plenty of empty tables there were dance lessons going on on the dance floor there was lot of different areas that one could lose themselves in for hours of entertainment but now it may be totally different if there were hundreds of people in there customer service don’t forget the customer service everybody the service was friendly and her all the time in the world to take care of our needs we left a big tip

I really enjoyed my experience coming to Billy Bob’s with my university. We watched Chris Young in concert and it was awesome! My boyfriend ordered a pork sandwich of some kind and it was delicious along with the coke and vodka. We had lots of fun walking around and seeing people riding the mechanical bull. My only problem was that the dance floor was really small. I often felt like I was being stepped on especially for my size of 5 feet. The place itself is pretty huge. I would recommend going either for a concert or simply go during the evenings – and bring lots of friends or a signifiant other!

Billy Bob’s Texas is the worst. venue. ever: bait and switch on the way they sell their tickets, food was awful, (don’t order the quail burgers!) and the bartenders could have cared less about the customer. Save some time and spend your dollars elsewhere, this place is only in it for a buck… Staff was full of big hats and bad attitudes! Most notably upset with the heavy-​set, mean woman (with a bandana headband and heavy eyeliner) behind the bar outside the pit, who was a total a-​hole to every single customer. (It’s like it would have killed her to smile!) She threw attitude to every single person who asked for a drink! That’s the kind of person who gives the whole place a bad name, (not that this one needed any help in that department!) The whole evening was the epitome of bad customer service! Run as fast as you can from this «legendary» venue, it’s a sham at best. #fortworthless

Seriously, the female bartenders were hired for one reason alone. They are females. COULDN’T EVEN CATCH A BUZZ. I have never received such sub par service. I wish I could tell you how awesome the older male bartenders service was but I was too irritated to worry about that.
Seriously, I was skipped for some wannabe cowboy’s order of a 3 vodka red bulls. That just makes me sick, I hope I didn’t upset someone that bad my first time bartending.
If y’all are hiring bartenders I’ll gladly take a spot, I can’t allow one of my favorite places to fall to the tourists.

This review is only about the concert venue. This was my second time to see the Toadies at Billy Bob’s. I have to say it is very funny that when the Toadies come to town they play at a Honky Tonk. Don’t get me wrong I like going to Billy Bob’s because it is fun people watching.
The parking situation — you can park at Billy Bob’s and they charge you $ 5 to park in a field… uh, no! We park across the street where they also charge you $ 5 to park in a parking lot… yes, please!
The ticket stated that the concert started at 9. So in Rock N Roll terms that means the head liner is going on at 10PM. We arrived at 9 to see the opening act, Goodnight Ned. It was great that the Toadies had an opening act the was homegrown from Dallas.
Now, the biggest downer is that they allow smoking in the bar. Cough, cough… gross! So, you will leave smelling like an ashtray.
They offer two types of tickets. The $ 16 dollar tickets get you into Billy Bob’s, but not down near the stage. There was a long line of people trying to upgrade their tickets upon arrival and realized they weren’t getting near the stage. I don’t think the website does a good job of distinguishing between the two prices. The $ 28 dollar tickets get you standing room only in front of the stage.
Now, here is the funniest part about the Toadies playing at Billy Bob’s. Well of course, the Toadies fans start moshing. It’s a rock concert. The bouncers just look in awe and have no idea how to break it up… like I said it’s good people watching. The lead singer, Vaden Lewis has to stop the concert and tell them to stop moshing in Billy Bob’s. I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants.
There are two bars next the stage. There are three bartenders at each bar. The line never got more than two people deep.
The sound system is actually pretty good. I have been impressed both times of how good the Toadies sound. This has a lot to do with sound engineers and the people behind the scenes that we don’t see working hard to make it a great night of head banging.

Really not worth going to Billy Bob’s unless you’re looking forward to a certain concert. I’ve been here 3 times and every single time it was SOOOOO boring. The venue itself is pretty nice and spacious, but everything else about billy bobs is bleh. There’s never really anyone dancing. Everyone is either playing pool or standing around and staring at each other. It’s annoying when you want to go somewhere to two-​step and they charge you $ 18 for general admission to listen to a singer you never heard of and cant even see after everyone is crammed into the concert room. and still no one is dancing. If you’re wanting to dance, go to red river in dallas or ANYWHERE else

It cost us 2 dollars a person to enter. This is a big bar with a bull riding arena and games. It was kind of disappointing. There was nothing going on. Then we took a photo on a bull. Paid 25 dollars and the guy at the photo place said we could get a refund on our entry cost. When we left, they told us that a refund was not possible unless we purchased food at the restaurant. Rediculous! Not worth your money.

This place is a site to be seen. Slightly off the main corner of the stockyards (ask someone if you can’t find it), you’ll find a giant bar, event hall (honky tonk?), wild fun place which is part cowboy, part country and all Texas.
The place almost looks like what you’d expect from the main floor of a Texas themed Vegas hotel. Many bars, a mini rodeo ring, a mechanical bull, souvenir store, lights dance floor and booze.
In the back section, which is also massive, is a large pot full of tables and another stage where I’m sure they run all their shows.
There may even be more to see and we just missed due to the massive size if the place.
Worth a visit for sure if you’re in the Dallas Ft Worth area. Warning: you will see cowboys and line dancing!
Don’t mess with Texas

Well… first piece of advice… don’t go early. We had a late appointment and stopped in at around 6:30 on a Tuesday. There was only a few people walking around and the house band was practicing.
The website makes the place look like a restaurant and honkey tonk. Realistically it’s a honkey tonk bar with bull riding that serves a little food. I’m not overly impressed during the day. Also, the cover charge when nothing wad going on was a joke.
We will return one more time on a Friday or Saturday night to see what all the fuss is about. Food was a three and a half.

Billy Bob’s is a large venue with bars, a dance floor, bull riding, etc that you’d expect to find in THE honky tonk to visit in Fort Worth. they have a gift shop too if you want a souvenir
they have different live bands booked on certain nights, but the day i went it was a Mexican band! nothing against Mexican music but i was hoping for the whole country honky tonk experience! thus, no country music when i was there

BBQ great! Huge place! Fabulous entertainment! Even a gift shop like Disney!

This was my first time to a honky tonk! I was very excited, but I was left disappointed. The first thing we did was try to win a foam cowboy hat from the giant claw machine. We were able to grab a hat on all 3 attempts before it dropped while being reeled in. I swear the thing was rigged. $ 6 down the drain. Then, my friend and I went to an enclosed booth to record ourselves karaoking for $ 5. After selecting a song, the machine said it was recording but there weren’t words on the screen nor music playing. So that ended up being a bust, another $ 5 down the drain. We were excited to see live bull riding. It was $ 3 to watch a 10 minute show. $ 3 really isn’t much but it wasn’t worth it. None of the bull riders were able to stay on the bull longer than 10 seconds. These guys were supposed to be professionals. We were looking forward to participating in line dancing but we found that it occurred at the same time as the bull riding show so we missed it. Our other friends said it wasn’t anything special. The live music was entertaining though. Several friends wanted to ride a mechanical bull but there wasn’t any. What kind of honky tonk does not have a mechanical bull?! Billy Bob’s claims to be the largest honky tonk across the nation, too! The experience was altogether disappointing.

Legendary or not, I was pretty disappointed coming to Billy Bob’s.
Known as the «World’s Largest Honky Tonk,» I was naturally intrigued. Stopped in for lunch to try their BBQ, which was pretty good, but it doesn’t make up for the rest of the experience…
First off, you have to pay $ 2 just to get in. You get your money back is if you buy food/​drinks/​merchandise there. That’s fine, but does anyone really carry cash anymore? I know I don’t. We almost had to leave before entering.
I had a bottle of water (hello, it was 90 degrees outside and I had heat exhaustion) and the «security guard» wouldn’t let me bring it in. I would’ve snuck it in, but the purse I was wearing wasn’t large enough. I can understand if it was a bottle of soda or something, but water? Come on!
The place REEKED. It was so filthy and smelled like smoke, lots and lots of it. I felt like I needed a shower before I even left.
The bathroom was so hot and greasy, I felt like I was standing in the kitchen!
The walls were plastered with autographs, photos, guitars, and handprints which was pretty cool, but now that I’ve been there and seen that, I won’t be going back.

This place is HUGE! Lots of pool tables, space to dance, tall tables to sit and enjoy, games to play, an arena to watch some bull riding. I have never seen anything like this. It was a ton of fun and really cool to hang out here on my birthday. It was definitely something that I NEVER would have done before.
The only complaints I have:
1. SO smoky. Eww. Seriously they need a better ventilation system in there.
2. The night I was there Dwight Yokum was playing and we couldn’t even see him. We were sold tickets for $ 20 per person and he was in a separate room that we couldn’t even see him. We were sold general admission tickets so I assumed we would at least be able to see him. I am not a big fan or anything but if you are selling GA tickets for $ 20 each you should tell the buyer that you can hear him but not see him. It was really weird.
