As a vegetarian, I am somewhat used to being underwhelmed with receiving food that is mildly seasoned and/or overcooked. But the food here made me stop eating mid-bite, just to take a pic of it! No lie-THAT good! Just enough kick, made to order, and generous serving portions will have me coming back again and again!

The brown chicken is our favorite, but the jerk chicken is super spicy and perfectly flavored. Don’t be scared away by the sketchy gas station next door, because Angie and her staff are extremely friendly and the food is to die for.

Great service and even better food. Tried the curried goat, red beans and rice, fried plantains, and macaroni and cheese. Excellent

I have been trying to find a carribean place since moving to Texas. I came to Angies and order the callaloo with codfish, and my husband had the curried goat. The food was delicious and the portion sizes are more than enough l. I will definitely be visiting this place to get my fix!

Absolutely delicious food and amazing service. Definitely enjoyed it and will be going back. They bring out the sample plate to taste the curried goat, curried chicken, jerk chicken, brown stew chicken, and oxtails. All delicious. I ordered the curried chicken which was really good. Plantains were good as well as the cololou.

Some girlfriends and I ate here. I had not had authentic Caribbean food since I moved from NYC. My girlfriends had eaten at a few Dallas spots. As we entered, I thought, «this is definitely divey enough to be authentic.» :-) This spot is owned and operated by friendly, chatty Caribbeans. I loved that fact. My girls had the jerk chicken and jerk wings plate. Plates come in small, medium, and large with peas and rice and cabbage. I had enjoyed a huge breakfast that morning, so I only had room for festival and greens. My friends said that the chicken was well grilled, but lacked enough spice. They felt that the spice had been tampered down for«Texas tastebuds.» The jerk sauce came on the side, and it was delicious. Spicy, hot, peppery, flavorful — all the things you need a jerk sauce to be. The rice and peas were overly dry(had possibly been sitting on the stove too long), but the cabbage was perfect. My festival and greens were good and seasoned well. I also had the sorrel. I asked if it was VERY sweet(I don’t like any overly sweet beverage). The nice looking guy at the cash register gave me a taste of it before ordering. It was perfectly balanced! Sorrel is an herb that looks a tad like spinach. The leaves are boiled along with ginger, sugar, and other yumminess to make a delicious beverage. You have to try it if you eat here.

One of my friends recommended this place after a coworker took him there for lunch and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It seems a bit sketchy when you pull up, it’s next door to a gas station where people smoke inside, there’s bars on the gas station windows, and the illegal gambling machines are typically full. People are usually eating behind the gas station counter or seen with a cigarette in their ear. Don’t let this scare you, the food and people of the restaurant next door are fantastic. When I walked in being a first timer, it was a little intimidating. I was not very familiar with Caribbean food but the staff was very helpful. You can order up at the counter or if you sit at a table, they will wait on you. They brought out a little sample plate of 5 different meats for my friend and I to try. All the meats were very tender, but we went with the Jerk Chicken and a beef patty. We ordered the medium and split the plate. It came with 3 pieces of chicken, rice, and a cabbage/pea mix. The sauce was served on the side. This along with the beef patty was plenty of food for both of us, as we had good intentions to save room for dessert but ended up being too full to order. They do not serve alcohol but it is BYOB. We went next door and got a red strip beer. When we came back, the owner gave us a free ‘ginger beer’ to mix with the red stripe, said it was very good and we needed to try it. Staff was very kind, friendly, and attentive!

Absolutely loved this place. Stopped by here after an interview at JPS and was beyond pleased. We had the jerk chicken and it was very flavorful along with the greens. The staff, including Angie, was very friendly and the ambiance was great. Will definitely return if I’m in the area.

Omggggg. This place is so yummy. It’s across from JPS. The jerk chicken was good. The brown stew chicken was super moist and delish. The curry chicken was excellent and the goat curry was exceptional. Mac and cheese and the collard green was flavorful. I’m so in love!!!

I had the jerk chicken, mac-n-cheese, and collards. Delicious! The jerk chicken came as a juicy, spicy, sweet leg and thigh, and the collards and ma-n-cheese were perfect, comforting accompaniments. I also had some sweet-tart fresh lemonade to drink. This was my first time here, and I cannot wait to go back and try out some of the other dishes. Restaurant was simple but clean, and the staff were courteous and friendly.

If you like good spicy caribbean food! This spot is definitely for you!!! They are located across the street from jps hospital. The jerk chicken and wings are my favorite! The food is always prepared quickly and stays hot for a good period of time. Parking is not the greatest but i mostly call in my order to go. Try the jerk chicken and collard greens … O. M. g. Once again thank heaven for Unilocal because without it I would’ve never known this gem exists. I haven’t had Jamaican food in a long time and when I stumbled across this place I was dying to try it. It’s located next to a gas station so I’m sure I would’ve missed it. We walk in and the sounds of Jamaican music greeted us and instantly put me in a good mood. We decided to order the jerk chicken, goat, Mac and cheese and a beef patty. Everything was really good and left me wanting more. I also tried the ginger drink and that was so good! The owners were really nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I can’t wait to come back and try more. Check this place out. Ignore the neighborhood and the gas pumps and walk in the doors with an open mind and an empty belly. Hope you like it.

Located across from JPS, this restaurant is tucked in at a gas station and known for their awesome Jamaican food. Actually, I heard about this place by word of mouth that they serve authentic Jamaican food. Seeing how I’m not Jamaican I would have a hard time telling you if it’s truly authentic food. Anyways, parking is a little terrible but they have enough space. I came in the middle of the afternoon so the place wasn’t busy(although I can see this place being packed for lunch or dinner). A lady greeted me with such open arms as soon as I walked in. Since it was my first time there and my indecisiveness on picking the entrees, she gave me a plate with all their different types of meat. I have never been offered a whole plate of all the meats so I was very impressed from the start. Although the sample plate didn’t make it easy for me to pick just two entrees since they all tasted good! In the end, I went with jerk chicken and curry goat. The jerk chicken was AMAZING! It was tender and whatever sauce they used to season it was aligned with my taste buds. The curry goat was also very soft and juicy so you can’t go wrong there either. Overall, the pricing & portion were good. I will be back and you should check it out too.

One of my coworkers took us there for lunch. I have no idea how authentic this place is, all I know is their jerk chicken is the best charcoal grilled chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life. Spicy and just a little sweet. Plus the greens were some of the best in Fort Worth — right up there with the greens at Fred’s. I will be going back soon — they have a lot of stuff on the menu and if even just half of it is as good as the chicken, this place will become a regular lunch spot for me. Ox tails, curried goat, roti sandwiches, fried plantains, rice and peas… good food.

This place has fantastic soulful food. It’s unpretentious, straight forward, and delicious. Thus far, I’ve had the jerk chicken, curried goat, and oxtails. All of them were tender and tasty. No bland food here(the jerk has a kick to it!). The place is attached to a gas station, and the exterior a bit shabby. The interior is unimpressive with very casual seating. Additionally, I’ve found that the workers /service were a bit clueless(the exception being Angie, who more than makes up for everyone else’s lack). Despite all this, the food brings up my review of the place up to 4 stars. Tender bone-in meats, collards(!), authentic side dishes, and a delightful Caribbean lady — these are the things you should come here for. If you want anything else, you will be disappointed.
