Love this range! Always nice service inside. Range officers were a bit intimidating but not too bad. I have never had to wait for a range.

Outdoor shooting range, it is nice during the few weeks a year that the weather isn’t unbearable. they don’t necessarily enjoy the female shooters though. I bought my first gun here and I know what i am talking about when it comes to guns. The first couple of salesmen completely ignored me, the one who showed me the gun said that it was «too much gun» for me. I am a CHL instructor, i bring LOTS of business to the area’s ranges… I do an all female class — i will not be bringing them here…

Just called to inquire if the range was open and how muddy it might be based on the recent rains. Person answering the phone failed to give anything other than one word answers and couldn’t tell me if roads were open nor conditions of the range. When I asked if I could speak with someone else who might know, he just said No! I guess they have so much business that they do not need my money or the 3 others that I would have brought with me. Get a clue !

Used to come here a lot; less lately.
Rifle range = no fmj period.
Pistol range = ok.
50yd pistol, shotgun, sight in = ok but space is limited.
RO’s attitudes are atrocious. Don’t even think about picking up your own brass.

I shoot competitively and have impeccable finger and muzzle control and have still been yelled at for rodding my barrel after a squib. Ridiculous.
Have had the local wildlife point a loaded 12ga in my direction at point blank range. No RO interjection.
Today I was denied access to clays because «I have to buy them here» at markup of course. They are they same type sold at Alpine but $ 7 a box cheaper from walmart.
I won’t ever be back. See my review about Garland; it’s worth the drive.

Don’t bother– a bunch if cranky ex-​Walmart Range Nazis. I tried to give them another chance today, but was too frustrated by the low IQ and meaningless senile Range Officer’s blatant avoidance of serious safety issues and nagging of miniscule «issues.»
Save yourself frustration

I recently had a firearm transferred here and the customer service was excellent. Short wait time, friendly staff, and a well kept store front. They carry a large inventory of firearms and shooting supplies.

Not very female friendly… I went today with my boyfriend to shoot shotguns, rifles and handguns. The clay thrower was on a very tall table and very hard to pull back. The rifle range didn’t have any sand bags so I had to sit on my feet to be able to shoot. Lastly and most disappointing the pistol range. The tables (don’t know if that’s what they are called) were so stinking tall I could barely clear my arms to shoot. Am only 5 foot so I doubt many people will have these problems.
All in all I did have a blast for about $ 65 bucks not including ammo.

Used their rifle/​shot gun lanes. This place is cheap compared to some of the other places I’ve been to. $ 30 for two people. This is an outdoor range and keep in mind that you call ahead and ask which kinds of bullets you are allowed to use here. That’s common sense. The instructors were very friendly and the front counter person gave us glasses to use free of charge.

Well, their construction and improvements have come along quite nice. Im enjoying coming here more than before. At the time of this update, range fee is still $ 13.xx for what is essentially an all day fee. For rifle and pistol. Their pistol lanes are good. Their rifle range is ok. All in all still my «go to place». They’re still developing the range areas but have most of the lanes available. Staff is nice and helpful. The range officers are good. When it comes to the range, I do not have leniency for sloppy range Rules. There are always times where you have newer people that have begun shooting and aren’t too familiar with the rules and the range officers are good to address them immediately.

Always a great experience when I go shooting here. Very laid back and relaxing. Never very over crowded I like shooting here. Staff is fun and gives great advise. Recommend going here.

I’ve only every used their shotgun range here so my review is for just that. There is always at least one clay thrower that is not functioning properly and some throw higher then others. There is no fee to use their throwers as long as you buy the clay from them. I always have a good time there and so do the people I bring.

My first time here, I didn’t think it a bad range. However my girlfriend is another story. We are both pretty tall people (6 foot 1). With that said, the pistol range has a steel I-​beam that begins to hang at around 5 feet 6 inches in between you and the target. It is covered in wooden paneling all the way up, forcing you to shoot under the beam. It’s literally right in the way. She constantly shot it on accident, causing some of the wooden covering to splash back. Stabbing me in the back of the neck, her sister in the forehead and her to the right of her right eye. No cuts or bleeding just a good whack that ached for a while. I know it wasn’t intentional! But what a nuisance to have to almost crouch down to have to shoot. Especially for her, she already complains about how much her back hurts from her bust being so big. So having to bend over or crouch for her IS a problem. Maybe add stools or chairs?
Every one was SUPER NICE! One member of our party didn’t have eye protection and we were about to be forced to leave after paying! when the range master went out to his car and let her use one of his personal pairs. Very very very nice people.
Besides having to pay to shoot uncomfortably, I did like this place. If your over 6 foot bring a rifle or shotgun instead. I believe it to be more tailored for rifles and shotguns anyway.
I don’t believe we will be going back since we don’t Own either.

NO FMJ ALLOWED ON RIFLE RANGE!!! Be aware of this before going as I was not and had to buy ammo there. The only upside was that the ammo wasn’t outrageously priced. Skeet range has two options and the throw yourself option is affordable and a great way to go out and blow through some bird shot down range.

I came by to update this, even though I haven’t made it back to this business yet. The marketing manager contacted me about my review and was very kind, apologized for my experience, explained the changes they are working to achieve, and asked I come back sometime soon to give them a second chance. I’ve been contacted a number of times by other businesses over reviews I have left on Unilocal,but I will say typically it is not in a friendly fashion. Usually it is to give excuses or demand I change wording in my reviews (which I will not be intimidated into doing ever). So to me, getting an actual message from a company that was friendly and offering to fix any negatives, well to me that shows they are at least trying and that gets them bumped up in my book! Will update with my thoughts if I make it back out that way again.

My husband and I came here for beginner pistol lessons with Sandra Watts and we had a fantastic experience. Sandra asked us questions about our experience level and then customized our lesson specifically to us. The lesson was very detailed and included gun safety, parts of the gun, stance and how to hold the gun, loading and aiming the gun, and range safety and etiquette. She was very knowledgable, and made us feel comfortable asking any questions we had.
They have a public range and the prices were very reasonable, especially if you have your own guns. She let us know that taking lessons from her will get you 10% off merchandise in their store, and she introduced us to the store staff, who were all very knowledgable and helpful as well. I would highly recommend Alpine Shooting Range to anyone, especially beginners!

I have never been to an outdoor range, only indoor.
As Pedro R. mentioned, buy ammo elsewhere and only pay for the $ 10 admissions fee.
The range is spacious and has dedicated areas for rifles, skeet shooting, shotgun and pistols. There were two range officers in the section we were at. Definitely know your range rules because they will come and yell at you. Also brush up on terminology such as «Range is cold» or «Range is hot».
Even though there are signs that says «eye and ear protection required at all times», the range officers don’t strictly enforce it but its smart to have them both on of course.
A plus: range officers clean up empty shells after you :)
