In addition to our flagship store in Fort Worth, Acad​e​myU​ni​forms​.com expanded in 2013 opening a full service store in Houston, Texas and a small satellite store in Tyler, Texas.

Business Owner

Jan Underwood, co-​founder and owner of Acad​e​myU​ni​forms​.com has 31 years experience in the children’s apparel industry. Jan and husband of 41 years, Joe, have raised three children, one with Down’s Syndrome. Community service is paramount to Jan’s everyday life, having served on the board and as President of the ARC of Greater Tarrant County from 1984 to 1992. Jan and high school friend/​business partner, Cyndi, quickly became the «go-​to» company for unique service delivery options, variety of styles, items and a never ending commitment to fitting all shapes and sizes in every school served. Compassion and fairness governs Jan’s business model in creating a successful team to serve the school uniform industry. When asked about the products, Jan’s reply is always, «we are all Mother’s. If it doesn’t wash well, we don’t want to sell it! In April 2013, Jan was honored as one of the top 10 Mother’s in North Texas at the North Texas Easter Seal’s annual Hat’s Off to Mother’s Celebration.
