History

Established in 2007.

Daniel J. Kim, the company’s Founder & Chief Concept Officer, graduated from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business in 1998, and first worked as an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Kim opened the first Red Mango store in South Korea in 2003. From 2003 to 2007, the chain expanded to 130 stores. The first store in the United States opened in Los Angeles near UCLA in July 2007.

According to the company website, Red Mango gets its name because «the mango, distinctly delicious and high in nutrition, becomes red at its optimal stage of ripeness.

My friend and I were going to go Red Mango last night around 8:15 and we get there to find out they were not even open. There was no sign in the window that said they were going to be closed ahead of time. We were really disappointed to even see they were supposed to stay open until 10:00 that night… not a very happy and memorable experience.

Red Mango was a pretty awesome place. They had more to offer than most Frozen Yogurt places. They had several fruit options and one I had never had before, Nutella! While most of the flavors really stuck out as amazing, the Strawberry flavor was the best I have ever tried. The pear was quite nice too. I don’t like taro flavored anything but I tried it anyway and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting. I wish they had one of these down in Indy so I didn’t have to drive 2 hours to get my strawberry froyo fix :(

I love this frozen yogurt place! I so wish we had some here in Central Indiana, the fro-​yo flavors are delicious and refreshing and there are lots of topping choices. I personally enjoy getting one of their chocolate varieties mixed with a fruit fro-​yo and then topping with chocolate chips, lots of fruit and some of those juice balls, mmm chocolate fruit goodness. They do make a claim that their fro-​yo is healthier than their competitor’s. I am too lazy to really research this but it is fun to pretend that your delicious snack is healthy! Haha.
They have smoothies and other items as well and my friend enjoyed her smoothie on her last visit. They appear to have a check-​in offer but due to not noticing this the first time and then phone dying the second time, I have not tried to use it.
On my last visit, they had popcorn fro-yo…I kinda want to know what that tastes like but I wasn’t brave enough!

They say on here they have coffee and tea. That’s untrue. They do not. They also do not have peach.
Frustrating to come all this way for coffee and they don’t have it. There is a Starbucks next door but it doesn’t have the same hours.
Sadly disappointed. Oh well.

After trying spoons, menchies and yoyos, when I ate Red Mango, I actually figured the difference. It was fruity, fresh and very light. I filled my cup with yogurt and finished it wanting more. I read it is all natural and less than 100 calories. Their smoothies are the best made of fresh fruits and purevia. Don’t forget to taste the bobas as your frozen yogurt topping.
The team who works there are always smiling.
