My opinion for this location is to go inside rather than use the drive up. When we use the drive up our food is usually rather dry and not so great but when we went in it tasted so much better and their ribs are super super tender! Some servers aren’t very good but I guess I’ve lowered my halls expectations after a couple of visits at several locations.

Overall, decent. We came here on a Saturday night. It was extremely busy but no wait. Service was good and food arrived quickly. Quite a few options on the menu, steaks, chicken, etc. I ordered the 5 oz grilled pork chop off the ‘lite and rite’ menu. It was good, nothing exciting. I found it humorous that something on the ‘lite’ menu was topped with bacon though. Rolls came with our meal and I thought they tasted like something that comes out of a bag at the grocery store. The interior could stand some updating. It was clean but very dated. Definitely affordable… our bill for a family of 4 was $ 25 plus tip.

I had time to waste because my car was getting worked on. Excellent service. Excellent prices. Typical diner food. Average on food. I had the Swiss steak special. It was ok. The dessert was great! I had the Reese’s peanut butter cup cream pie. That was legit

Our recent visit to this Don Hall’s location was a weekday late lunch. The restaurant was very busy with only a few tables open(Seat Yourself seating). We quickly found a booth for two to the left of the half round counter/stool service station off the entrance. This was a pretty high traffic area as it was the main aisle to the kitchen and path for people coming/going. The service was okay during our visit, nothing remarkable to speak about. My wife selected the creamy potato soup and a pulled pork sandwich special of the day. The soup was average in taste, not sure if it was fresh/made from scratch, frozen or canned. Didn’t get the chance to ask, but it seemed«prepared», not homemade. The pulled pork sandwich was okay as well, not great or memorable. It too seemed to be a frozen or pre-packaged meat concoction. I selected the corned beef Ruben prepared on marble bread with a side of steak fries. The sandwich arrived piping hot with the thousand island dressing on the side. The bread was toasted but over buttered to my taste(it was actually dripping out of the slices). The meat was very nice. Sauerkraut was average. I was not a fan of the steak fries, tried one and passed on the remainder. These were just basically wedges of potato deep fried. No flavor or seasoning and very mushy inside. The overall atmosphere of this restaurant sure could use some updating. It’s reminiscent of an old coney island or short order diner(place where you want your food fast and don’t mind«average» quality). This is our second time trying out this location. Given the many better choices in Fort Wayne for similar style food, it isn’t on my list of places to visit again.

Great local restaurant with good, basic food. Nothing beats the buster platter with fries and slaw! And you can choose to eat in your car with curb side service or go inside. Why go to a national chain when you can eat good local food? Hall’s is the place to be!

Fort Wayne is full of establishments. Places that have been there forever that everybody loves solely for that fact. I was definitely not impressed with the food here. It seemed very drab and average. Looking around it was mostly elderly people that have probably been coming here for decades. It seems like they need to modernize their menu. But I don’t know – I’m an out of towner. Maybe it is perfect for the usual Fort Wayner.

In town for the night and was looking for a local restaurant-no chain. Found it here at Hall’s dive in. First of all this is not a real drive in but offers all the heroes charm of one. Good was good and the price was great too. Service was excellent. Will stop here next time I am in town

Yummmmmy!!! Hall’s has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl and rarely do they disappoint! My family and I were not disappointed this last visit. My husband hasn’t been to Hall’s for almost 10 years and he was completely taken aback by how good the ‘Fort Wayne’ burger was. It was definitely«Sarge Sized»(big enough to feed my hubby). Serving sizes are generous, prices are fantastic! The server was fantastic! She made sure that the order was right before she left the table to give it to the cook. Everything came out perfectly and at the same time. My family was one happy crew. The only«problem» that I have with the place is the usual hostess. She’s sometimes in a great mood, sometimes… Not so much. When we walked in, we were greeted right away, but not with a smile. She scurried off to prep a table for us. When she returned, there were two more parties behind us, so she pointed and said, «That table in the corner is yours. The kids menus are all set up.» Maybe it’s just me, but having been a hostess before in a busy restaurant, I always took my parties to the table and let the waiting parties know that I would be right back. And I always greeted everyone with a smile. Overall, the service was great, the food was great, and we are definitely going to be returning soon.

This is a great place! Hand made food with comfortable atmosphere. They have a bigger menu than most drive ins and as far as I could see, everything was good. The restaurant had some flow issues but I can wait a couple seconds for someone to pass. We got chicken strips that were breaded like fish and a cheeseburger. Both were better than your normal diner. Must get cottage fries!

Some things never change. Great value, simple menu, and surprisingly very nice service! My coffee never got past half full before being refilled. Filling breakfast, only $ 6.95 for bacon, eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee!
