Courtyard Fort Wayne Downtown at Grand Wayne Convention Center

I stayed here the first week of December, 2015.
Location: Right downtown Ft Wayne, directly across from the Grand Wayne Convention Center, Embassy Theater and Parkview Field. One block from Lincoln Financial Group.
Transportation/​Parking: Parking is available for $ 7 a day (as of ¹²⁄₁₅). This Marriott also provides shuttle service to and from Ft Wayne International Airport. I suggest calling ahead with your arrival times so the shuttle will be there when you arrive. Expect a 15 – 20 drive from FWA to Downtown.
Check in: Prompt and friendly. Actually, some of the friendliest folks around. There are three check in desks available and I never experienced a queue. There is a small store for necessities, snacks and drinks. They also provide complementary items that you may have left behind (which is good because the next closest pharmacy is a mile away.)
Rooms: I had a King room which was spacious and well appointed. Plenty of room with a desk and lounge chair. Room appointments include free wi-​fi, coffee pot with coffee, mini-​fridge, iron and large television. There were a couple of areas which I noted were untidy, the headboard and nightstand had something spilled all over it and some trash behind furniture. The bed was comfortable but for some reason this hotel uses four small pillows instead of standard size pillows which I found uncomfortable. The bathroom has a big walk in shower with high flow shower heads.
My original room was on the 4^th floor facing Harrison St. Unfortunately there was construction on this street which started early in the AM. I was able to move rooms to the 6^th floor overlooking Parkview Field. This room had the same layout and amenities but was two Queen beds with standard size pillows.
Amenities: There is a coin operated laundry on the 2^nd floor. Detergent and dryer sheets can be purchased at the front desk for $ 1. The pool is on the ground floor and is very small, almost comical. There is a stand up PC with printer in the lobby where you can check into flights and print boarding passes. One of the best features of this property is the back patio which has two gas operated fire pits with patio chairs. Excellent place to kick back with friends.
Food: A small café provides breakfast for an additional cost. Good quality food, albeit a bit expensive. There is a separate restaurant, Champions, which is a sports bar. I did not eat here, but did have a few beers at the bar. This establishment provides room service as well. Additionally there are other restaurants in the vicinity like O’Reilly’s Irish Pub and fast food like Wendy’s, Arby’s and McDonalds. Powers Hamburger Shop is a block away too.
All in all, this is an excellent hotel, especially for business travel. With friendly service and a great location, I highly recommend this Courtyard.

This place is clean, comfortable, and modern, like Linda O. mentioned. It is a little loud as it’s on a main street, but that’s the price you pay for staying downtown. :) I agree again w/​Linda O. that not having a continental breakfast is a little ridiculous, especially considering the price of a night’s stay. The breakfast sandwiches at the place in the hotel run $ 7.75, which I find to be a bit over-​priced. So a medium coffee w/​an average breakfast sandwich will run you over $ 10. Really?
The room itself is clean, and the bed is comfortable, but the pillows are like the little couch pillows w/​pillow cases on them. Very small, and most of them a very flat or are feather pillows (ick). The shower is great — perfect water pressure, and good shower head. Parking is right next door, which is also nice. The staff are friendly. Overall good place to stay downtown.

I was at Courtyard Marriott this past week for a Junior Achievement conference. I just wanted to thank everyone on staff for such a wonderful stay. I want to give a special shout out to Maxwell who helped me get a new yogurt without strawberries. I am very allergic to strawberries. Everyone was so friendly. We got an upgrade to a king suite bc our original room window was by the flags. It was a very windy & noisy night & we could not sleep well. The next night we had the BEST sleep in our sweet suite. The food & drinks at Champion was really good. I had the grilled salmon & veggies. My colleagues had similar fare with several cocktails. We finished off sharing an Apple Walnut Cobbler ala mode. I was told this was a new/​renovated hotel. The upgrades were noticed & appreciated. Thank you! :)

Clean, VERY comfortable, modern, and well furnished. I would rate this a 5 star except I found it odd that in this day and age that a continental breakfast was not included.

Very nice hotel. Big shower and good water pressure. Comfy bed and overall great staff since the beginning of the reservation to the check in to the hotel. Champions is also a great spot to eat and have a drink. I had the grilled chicken sandwich.

Very nice and clean hotel. We had a bunch of used towels in front of our door to our room. I contacted the front desk about it and they took care of it immediately and were very apologetic about it. Will definitely stay at again next time we are in Fort Wayne.

If you’re ever in downtown Ft. Wayne for any reason, do yourself a favor and stay here! This was place was great! The Marriott app made check-​in a breeze. I checked in online earlier in the day, they texted me that our room was ready and to just stop by to pick up our key. It was really easy to get our key when we got there. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were seeing a show at the Embassy and our floor had a bridge that you walk from the hotel to the embassy without even going outside. Extremely friendly staff and check-​out was completed on my app with the receipt emailed to me! Couldn’t recommend a hotel more!

Very nice, clean room. Nice big shower. Bed wasn’t extremely comfortable but it was better than the one one at a different hotel the previous night. Nice sitting area with a sleeper sofa and coffee table. We ordered room service from Champions and were not impressed. Champions alone gets 2 stars. I ordered wings, they were nothing special. The sauce wasn’t great and the skin on the wings was kind of soggy. Could have used another minute in the fryer. We ordered a Caesar salad to share, they put the dressing on the side rather than tossing it in the salad as Caesars are typically served… salad was the only good part of the meal. My girlfriend got the fish tacos which ended up being too spicy so we called down to trade them for a burger as she didn’t realize the tacos were served spicy (doesn’t specify in menu). The burger was also nothing special. They tried charging me for the burger, even though I handed the tacos back to the woman who brought the burger to the room. She dropped the entire plate on the floor before telling me I needed to pay $ 20 for the burger (they also recharged me the 18% gratuity and $ 3 delivery fee!). I told her I don’t feel I should pay for the burger since the tacos were made too spicy, and I gave them back. Also that I would have just kept the tacos if I had known I was paying for the burger exchange! I asked her to have the manager call me if she still feels I should pay for the burger. The same server woman came back up to the room a couple hours later and said the manager comped the burger.
I would stay at this hotel again, but do hope they upgrade the mattresses.

The Courtyard is brand new to the City of Fort Wayne, and I must say it is very beautiful in side and the rooms are awesome, prices but yet wonderful. Its located in the heart of the city, surrounded by great restaurant, and fast food restaurant. My favorite place to eat is Champion Sport Bar & Grill. Its attached to the Courtyard and you don’t have to leave the hotel to get to the restaurant just walk right through the lobby of the hotel and your there.

For a period of time I was traveling very often to Fort Wayne for work and would always stay at the Downtown Courtyard Marriott. NOT to be confused with the other Courtyard on the other side of town which is not nearly as nice (I would know, I booked it by accident once!)
This Courtyard was always clean and was of very good quality. This particular franchise is obviously fairly new and is well-​cared for. I never had a single complaint about cleanliness or anything like that in the many times I stayed.
I cannot say enough about the staff who were always friendly, cheerful, and helpful. When you travel for work and hotels are your «home away from home,» it is always refreshing to deal with competent staff who truly want to help you out. Thanks for your hospitality!
The breakfast bar is standard to most Courtyards, with the usual sandwich and a la carte offerings, as well as Starbucks coffee (awesome.) Champions Sports Bar is the restaurant option at this Marriott, and it’s alright but the pub fare is generally heavy/​not all that healthy and does get old quickly. But the service was always good and if you want a burger, some fries, etc., look no further than the hotel lobby restaurant!
Things to note: you have to pay for parking ($ 7 a day in an attached garage), the Parkview baseball field is right next to the hotel so if your room faces the field and they are setting off fireworks or something, you may get some noise. It never bothered me, but I am not an early-​to-​bed person either. I really enjoy the Paul Mitchell hair products that Courtyard franchises now provide. The WiFi is free — also a great feature of Courtyard.
If I ever find myself in Ft. Wayne again, I know where I will stay.

I’m in general a big fan of Marriot Courtyards. They are usually reasonably priced and provide good quality for the cost. This particular hotel was better than most thanks to a convenient (and free) parking garage as well as an incredibly friendly staff.
Downside, its in Fort Wayne. I was here for a wedding, and I don’t think there is any other reason that I would ever, EVER, go to Fort Wayne.
But, if you find yourself sentenced to this purgatory for any reason, stay at the Marriot Courtyard.

Cleaning services were the best of any hotel I have ever stayed with.
Great location and bathroom.

I specifically asked for a high room over looking the Fort Wayne Tin caps ball field and they accommodated my request. Nice room and comfortable bed. 5 Pillows seemed 3 to many but all good. Plenty of towels. Nice flat screen TV’s. Re fridge could be a little colder. A/​C worked fine. Shower head had power. All in all fine room. Fast elevators too and a fast computer in the business center. I choose a good hotel!

We won a drawing for a Visit Fort Wayne package. Otherwise, our Hilton HHonors points keeps us from trying other chains. We found the contemporary accommodations to be nice. The pool was small, but clean and vacant. The assess to Parkview Field is well done. I hope we’ll manage a return when the Tincaps have a home game. The downsides are the bed comfort, flat pillows and lumpy springs, and the lack of a bathtub. We’ll have to request a tub for bathing our kids if we come back, I think. Too bad a spring snowstorm (6−10″ and 30−50mph winds?) is chasing us home a day early.

Seriously the friendliest staff I have ever experienced in a hotel. The rooms were clean an comfortable and the wi-​fi was free and relatively fast. And the price was right. Can’t ask for anything more.
Definitely my choice of lodging if I find myself in Ft. Wayne again and would gladly recommend it to anyone else traveling there.

The rooms are extremely noisy. The building itself is nice but definitely not worth the sleepless nights. I’m moving to the Hilton.

I must have missed the Courtyard’s renovation. This is the second one I’ve stayed at in about a year and I’m very impressed with the redesign. Lots of comfortable lounge/​common areas, Starbucks and food in the lobby for all meals, well appointed guest rooms (functional and attractive with HD TVs, fridge, microwave, couch, tables — all without feeling crowded). Good location right next to the ball park and right downtown.

*NOTE* There are three Mariots in Fort Wayne.
Two of them are located on West Washington.
And this location on EAST Washington.

I have traveled frequently to Fort Wayne for fun. This new hotel is centrally located and more convenient to many places of business. In comparison to the Hilton across the street, where the service is excellent but the décor is dated, this property is brand new but still appears to be working out a few kinks. I’ve already stayed only once and overall, the property is very comfortable. In summary:
PROS
* Very reasonable rate
* Starbucks coffee/​café in lobby for breakfast
* New Courtyard design scheme including modern lobby and room layout
* HD channels on flat screen TV
* Glass, walk-​in shower
* Spacious fitness center
CONS
* Airport shuttle still a bit shaky; no dedicated driver, so the front desk staff takes turns — this has resulted in delays in my experience, though it’s a free shuttle
* Still working out a few kinks in service (1) comforter not always available in room, (2) «do not disturb» sign missing during my visit
* This is purely my opinion, but I’ve found the pillows to be flatter and less comfortable than other hotels at which I’ve stayed
I’m willing to be patient with some of these minor issues since the property has been open for less than three months. All in all, a great new property that will likely only get better as the staff gets established.
*Note* do not become a McDonald’s traveler type, eating the same thing with (expected quality). Become an explorer!
