Expertise is this company’s strength. I used Blackstone for my routine aircraft engine oil change sampling and one day shortly after submitting a sample I received a phone call directly from them telling me they found a problem with my oil sample and urged me to not fly the aircraft until a mechanic checked for a piston wrist pin galling the side of a cylinder wall. Guess what the mechanic found? Exactly what the technician at Blackstone suspected. Needless to say, I now have a high degree of trust in this company.

I have used BL for a VERY LONG TIME (Let’s just say that I’ve known them since they were on S. Lafayette Street) !! For those of you who lease a car every 30 months or so, don’t waste your hard earned money. You’ll be clueless and think this place is useless. I never do an oil analysis on my leases or a car that I will get rid of in no time. They get beat up and on to the next person to be liable, haha. However, with my keepers like my classic cars which don’t get driven much, BL has saved me mucho time and money just on the oil changes and extended oil use. Every one of my classic cars is always ready to be driven, so the motors and transmissions and all of the oils and fluids need to be clean and ready to go at all times, and that’s where BL becomes very important to me and my classic babies (besides my fur babies who are also very important to me, that’s a whole different review in the future)!!
An oil analysis is like doing your blood test for your annual physical. It tells me how my classic babies’ motors are running and it tells me whether the content of the oil is still in tact. The best part of the analysis is that it actually can tell me if a $ 15 a quart bottle of oil is really worth it or maybe that $ 2 per quart oil is the same as that $ 10 per qt oil… Many of you may think you’re putting that $ 20 a qt oil in your Lambo or Bently is the way to go, but it may just be the same stuff you can buy for $ 5 (oops, now the news is out… hahaha). If you have 10+ classic cars like I do at 10 to 15 qts per car that’s over $ 1000 to $ 3000 of savings a year my friends!
Trust me, I may not be an auto mechanic expert, but with the number of cars I have, BL has already saved me thousands over the years. Thank you Blackstone Lab. Not only my babies are purrrrring so beautifully, but I could now afford to wine and dine at some of the best Unilocal rated restaurants! Ha!

Save your money and time and effort for better places. I paid and tried this place and to me they probably just mess around and come up with some numbers and reports to get your money. I asked some very simple questions and they couldn’t not answer, and to me it shows that they are not professional and likely on the brink of their biz going bust. As my Unilocal title suggests, I hope they go out of biz so others can save their time and money. I am not haters. If you do a business, you must be good to deserve the money you make. If you are not good at what you do which people pay to you, you need to go disappear and stop messing around in the society.

Blackstone is the country’s premier oil testing lab. They test engine oil, transmission oil, differential oil, for passenger cars, work trucks, light aircraft, etc.
I’ve used Blackstone for several years now, to test engine oil to check for premature wear on my BMW M cars. Their analysis is extensive, inexpensive, and most importantly their customer service is outstanding!
