Great place with a great view. In the middle of everything. Check out the beach and the pier. Just a few steps away. We will be back soon!

My fiancé, me, family and friends all traveled to Florida for my wedding. We all stayed at the four points Sheraton and loved it!!! The staff was awesome! The rooms were clean and were updated. We stayed in the tower which was next to the beach. It was an awesome view with easy access to the beach.
The breakfast was perfect, definitely pay for the vouchers. The staff always went above and beyond. I can’t say one negative thing about this hotel. We plan on going back as soon as we can, and plan on staying there again.

Great location & easy access to a beautiful beach. End of story.
Terrible place to stay if you enjoy an impeccable room. There where dead bugs in the bathroom floors, the tub was sticky and peeling off. The carpets are old, stained and stinky. The hallways are dark and stinky.
Towels & Bed linens are stinky … Darn it, everything smells.

We booked our stay through Expedia, We arrived and the hotel did not quite look like the pictures and our room did not have a beach view as we were told that it did. I asked to be moved to a beach view and was lied to by staff that no rooms would be available for us to move to for the duration of our stay. (We late met other people arriving later in the week who were moved to beach view rooms upon arrival at request).
Our room had not been cleaned, appeared bedding had just been made and while walking across the room, I stepped on toe nail clipping. Gross !!! I requested the room to be cleaned but no one available to clean it until next day. I tried to cancel my reservation. The front desk told me they would be glad to cancel it and rent it to someone else, but I would not receive a refund — hotel policy. The next day we left while the room was cleaned and then returned to find that once again the room still had not been cleaned and still had the clippings of someone’s toenails scattered on the floor. I had to go get the housekeeper, show them and stand over them to ensure a decent cleaning was done. I did inform the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do but that I could speak to Jeremy the manager.
If you are considering this hotel, I’d look elsewhere. Several newer, nicer places nearby. Even 2 newer places right next door.

I arrived at the hotel at 3:30 pm. The hotel changed the room I booked from a king to a double king. I let the person working in the from (Megan) know that I reserved a king with beach view. Megan promptly switched my room back to a King I was told my room would be ready at 4pm. No problem ran up the road to explore the restaurants called back at 4:30. Was told by Megan that my room would be ready in 10 min. Turned around drove back to the hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel I was told that my room would be available in 5 min. There are no sheets available for my room. It is now an hour past when my room was to be made available for me. I am being told now that there are no pillows in the room. That is what I am waiting on.

If it was overbooking, can’t you call beforehand or at least explain what happened when I checked inn?
In addition, the explanation from front desk was due to maintenance…
Was it lie to me?
When my travel agency noticed I was canceling, what I was told was only get out from room within 1 hour…
All the review wrote were based on my actual experience… Dirty, Dusty, Small, no bell boy, no cart…
You must listen to and take it seriously what customer says rather just denying…

If I was satisfied as you are confident, I did not cancel late at night looking for a new hotel still available by myself.

I’m conflicted as to how to review this hotel.
Booked as a points stay over Memorial Day weekend, and we knew hotels like this would be busy so no surprises on that front. However, in retrospect, as an SPG Category 4 hotel, at 10,000 pts per night, it’s expensive and I would argue significantly mis categorized by SPG. Here are some quick high/​low lights… YMMV.
— Arrived at about 9PM Friday, took over 30 minutes to get checked in
— Booked king, but was upgraded to beach view with two queens, first time in a long time an SPG property has pulled that one; despite being Platinum there was zero the front desk could/​would do about it; view was admittedly good, two queens was a drag (no pun intended)
— Self parking is free with a proper hang tag, plus there.
— Property seems to have started life as an old school two level outside entrance motel
— Landscaping is in great shape and is attempting to evoke a tiki-​ish vibe, but that doesn’t carry through to any other part of the hotel
— Rooms in the tower have been refurbished at some point in the past couple of years, décor was clean, on brand yet unremarkable
— Half size fridge would be great if we were staying longer and buying more of our own food vs. eating out.
— Air Con, in the case of the two queens room, blows like a Nor’Easter over the bed closer to the floor mounted motel style unit and can freeze that person out if you’re not careful
— Pool bar next to the tower is fair, beer is quite reasonable at $ 4 for the usual domestic suspects, but despite the association that the Four Points brand has with craft beer the lack of decent beer selections was a notable and material gap; the frozen drinks (the usual mass market Island Oasis stuff) were extremely expensive ($ 9.50) for their watered down quality. A profit leader for the hotel methinks
— Beach is fantastic Gulf Coast, almost powdered sugar sand and surprisingly not very crowded given the holiday weekend. I think this is helped by the fact that the Gulfarium is next door so you aren’t wedged between properties vying for beach space
— A third party company manages the beach chairs and umbrellas — $ 30 for a pair of chairs and the umbrellas. We found their staff (not associated with the hotel from what we could tell) to be largely unhelpful and primarily interested in getting a tip for doing basically nothing. In the end we got our chairs and enjoyed the beach.
— The 4Pts does have an ingenious system to get food and beverages on the beach — rather than the usual beachfront hotel process of wandering waitstaff, the 4Pts has a menu at each umbrella along with a location number and instructions to text your order to a particular phone number. Brilliant! We did it several times, the servers were lovely and friendly but the turn time between order and delivery was an unacceptable 90 minutes for lunch at around 1:30 resulting in our sandwich and taco respectively to be delivered cold. The server even said to us «I have no idea where this location is» referring to our umbrella number on the menu. Great concept, but needs some work.
In the end, we found the beach itself to be a big plus particularly if it is always as uncrowded as this holiday weekend with a 100% occupancy hotel. That said, having stayed in dozens of Starwood properties around the U.S. representing every brand in the Portfolio, it was, well, just meh. Staff was, while generally very nice, just not as on the ball as other similarly located properties with the same challenges of a beach property. The attention to details just isn’t there, nor is the completeness of follow through when there is an issue, yet they are close. There almost needs to open another Starwood property near that puts pressure on the franchisee to step up on the details, and continue capitalizing on the great ideas like texting orders from the beach.

Making a quick edit on this as I somehow did not mention one of the main people that made everything so wonderful. This was a work trip so the 5 stars is mainly based on the professionalism and ease that was demonstrated by the management and staff here at the hotel. Scott Petrine went so above and beyond to make sure that we were all taken care of. So much so that he knew I didn’t have time to get into town to buy a gift for my baby so he picked up a few things and totally surprised me with them, I can’t even express the gratitude for this ever so kind gesture. Truly one of the most pleasant and capable people that I have ever dealt with in this industry, so big thanks to him. And his and Stephen’s team were absolutely phenomenal, from start to finish, they could not have been more attentive and helpful. The front desk manager Jasmine was always all smiles and very helpful with our numerous requests. Our group was pretty large at 46 people and quite demanding with last minute needs. They handled every request efficiently and without any hesitation, they even helped to secure outside locations and items that we needed using their personal contacts to get us great deals. I only wish I could have them at every location that we go to! Much thanks to them for making this such a great experience for all of us!

Avoid this hotel at all costs. I’m a Starwood Preferred Guest. Prepaid for the room. Normal check-​in time is 4:00pm. I had asked for early check-​in at 3:00pm, but did not arrive at the hotel until about 4:30pm. I entered the lobby to encounter three lines, each 5 to 8 people deep, at each of the three desk agents. The SPG sign over one desk seems meaningless, as it is clearly not serving just «Preferred Guest» members. After a 20 minute wait in line, I’m told my room is not ready, and that I will have to wait in the bar for them to get their act together. I’m not the only one.
Staff is overwhelmed and not helpful. I am extremely easy going and have never written a negative review on Unilocal before. Exceedingly unpleasant start to what I hoped would be a nice vacation. You don’t get a second chance to make first impressions.

We stayed 2 nights here. We booked on Priceline and Hotel Tonight to score the best deals. They ended up upgrading our room for free to a beach front which was perfect! So nice being able to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view of the ocean. The rooms are decent. Nothing fancy but clean and decorated well. The one downfall we had is no one cleaned our room after the first night. Direct beach access is great! Pool/​beach bar was very affordable and the bartender was very helpful. Bring your own cooler/​food, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. if you like to save money! We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if life brings us back to Fort Walton!

Great location, hotel room and staff was very nice and the view from our balcony was amazing. If you’re a SPG member and can use accumulated points for your stay, it’s even better! The hotel is a short beach walk from the Boardwalk, where you’ll find shopping and seafood restaurants. My wife, our two teenage daughters, and myself all had a great stay without a single thing to complain about. Plenty of stuff to keep everyone entertained even when the weather isn’t perfect. We are definitely coming back to this same hotel soon to stay another week.

This place was great. Beds are awesome. Microwave, flat screen, fridge, sink. Everything you need in a room! We had an amazing view. Everything is modern and up to date. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner pumps in the shower. Only tiny complaint is we had a hard time getting in the room with the card key. We just had to swipe and swipe and swipe, but other than that its great! Complimentary coffee, tea and water! Awesome place!

This was a nice hotel and the location is perfect — right on the beach. Bathrooms could have been cleaner, but it was nice that they offered beach towels. Pools were great.

I booked the hotel via the SPG website. My wife and I were looking for a weekend gateway to the beach with the kids before the winter. We chose this property due to its convenient access to the beach as shown on the website. We arrived early to the hotel (11am) and there was no room available right away. We were offer to go park the car and use the hotel amenities, such as the beach access and use the facilities to get changed into our beach wear. Beach towels were also provided to us at no cost. After 2 – 3 hours on the beach a room was ready.
The room was a beachfront of the 6^th floor. The room was very nice. Felt really clean and bright. The Balcony too was clean, which could be a challenge with seabirds flying around. I really liked the preloaded shampoo/​shower gel dispensers in the shower. The mini-​breakfast area in the room is also convenient, especially for longer stays as it comes with a fridge and microwave.
We ate breakfast on the patio of the restaurant. The buffet was really good with plenty of food, pastries and fresh fruits. The over the top item was the «make your own waffle» station. My kids were all over that.
The common area are very well kept, no overgrown vegetation anywhere and pool area was free of clutter. Another good point is that the property offers a variety of family entertainment, such as a Ping-​Pong table, lawn pool, etc…
Other than regular wear and tear, I did not notice anything broken or not working in the room or in the common areas.

I stayed here based on the reviews, it was a bit pricey. I would rate this as a 3 – 4 star «beach location», but definitely not a 3 – 4 star under normal standards.
My pros are the location. Just west of the bridge and close to a lot of fun stuff. The restaurant staff was friendly and hospitable.
My cons are as follows:
1) Reservations/​check-​in. I originally made my reservations Fri-​Sun. I called back to book an extra day, Thursday to help accommodate the wedding we were in town for. I wanted to check in before the 4pm check-​in and I was told that shouldn’t be a problem since rooms were available. Worse case, I was told that as soon as a guest checked out and the room was turned, i could get in and get cleaned up from traveling all night. I left Dallas Ft Worth at 7pm Wed night, arrived @ 7am Thursday morning. No rooms were available, so I went shopping and checked back in around 11am. Still nothing. Checked back around 130pm, nothing. Well, we got tired of shopping and came back to lobby to wait for room. Found about 4 other families waiting too. We left to get lunch, came back around 350pm. When we finally checked in around 4pm, we got the LAST room! I paid for an extra day for nothing. I should have just kept my original reservation of Fri-​Sun and saved $ 300.
2) the rooms. Hope you have had your tetanus booster. The ceiling in the bathroom is about 7ft. Taking off clothes and cleaning up, i kept hitting the ceiling. The light fixture is covered with rust.

Not only is the beachfront location perfect on a fairly private area of the beach but you’re a bit away from the non-​stop traffic in downtown Destin and the hotel is quite nice. The service can be slow and you’re clearly not getting Westin resort amenities but this is Starwood’s lowest end brand so what do you expect? What you do get is a clean, well decorated room (if possible pay the money to be upgraded to a beachfront balcony and ideally a corner suite) with a few flaws but overall an excellent experience for most.
How good is this hotel? Even the breakfast buffet is awesome and at $ 10.95 (I believe) it’s easily one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve come across plus if you’re Platinum you can get 2 breakfasts per day for free as your amenity. Trust me when I say that’s worth much more than 250 SPG points. You’ll spend about $ 30 to rent an umbrella and chairs on the beach but you’re right next to the water, you don’t have to schlep your stuff down yourself, and you can order food and drinks directly to your location on the beach either via the server who will take your order or you can even text it. If you don’t want to spend the $ 30 then bring your own stuff and set up further back or a short ways down the beach which is wide open and will work great. As for food & drink on the beach, it’s from a seasonally-​open place at the hotel called Kiwi’s which is fine — pretty good drinks and okay food. Ultimately, you can eat better in the area but not a few steps from your beach chair (or delivered to your beach chair if you want).
There are certainly a couple flaws in the room and the speed of service but overall this Four Points is a very nice hotel and a pretty darn good value for a beachfront resort. If you want a $ 100 per night hotel don’t expect to be on a beach, plain and simple. You pay a bit of a premium here due to the location but it’s expected and also worth it — the Destin-​Fort Walton Beach area isn’t South Beach and it’s not a Ritz Carlton type of place but that’s a good thing. Get a room at the Four Points and enjoy it for what it is. A relaxing beach vacation if you want it to be.

Don’t let my star rating fool you! If I could do a negative, I would have! Not only was this hotel horrible, but our room was surrounded by a construction zone without ANY warning!!! My 2 year old son couldn’t sleep or nap and he stepped on a nail! The toilet leaked, the ac unit was so loud we couldn’t sleep! The food in the so-​called restaurant was not only inedible, it took 45 min to arrive AND still wasn’t what we ordered. Plain and simple, the hotel and staff ruined our vacation. Not too mention, the grounds are a dump and you can stay at a MUCH nicer hotel for the same rate… ie. Hilton SanDestin.

Due to my late arrival and early departure I had little interaction with staff so I can’t speak about service too much about service. But what little I did experience was helpful and except for the restaurant very friendly.
The rooms were clean and larger than expected. The beds were very comfortable and i had plenty of good pillows. The décor was nice and appeared to have been recently remodeled. However, some upgrades weren’t quite up to the quality one would expect from a Sheraton. My sink was installed tilted and the shower tiling looked like it was put in by an novice.
The breakfast buffet opened at 6:00am and was done well. Plenty of appropriately ripened fresh fruit to chose from. The oatmeal was tasty with the right amount of toppings. The eggs, potatoes and meats were as expected for a buffet from a quality hotel, good but nothing to write home about. The server in the restaurant wasn’t bad but wasn’t pleasing either but still efficient.
I didn’t spend any time in the pool, hot tub or gym due to time constraints so I can’t comment too much other than it all looked nice, as i passed it on the way to my room and check out.
Despite the décor the building itself looked tired and since I don’t know if they had free wifi or how the other amenities (pool, etc) I give it 3 Stars. Naw I’ll give it 4.

The location is right on the beach. This is very convenient; however, you will be charged upwards of $ 30 for 2 chairs and an umbrella and none are included. Restaurants don’t look clean or good and breakfast is not included. The housekeeping literally dodged coming in our room repeatedly – even when we called & spoke to the front desk twice, spoke directly to a cleaning staff employee and the cleaning supervisor. They promised to come in, and just didn’t. I continued to try to get it done, and they came in, made the bed – left no towels, didn’t wipe down any surface and left. In fact, they even turned off the a/​c when I had been gone for only a few hours and in this heat, that leads to a very hot room. I will not stay here again. As an SPG member, I am shocked at the condition of this place. There is potential but it would require a lot of effort and I just don’t see it happening.
Note: «Wifi» is non-​existent. Does not work.
Skip this place and go to Destin! Stay in Harbourwalk.
Room Tip: Staying ocean front provides the one thing good about this hotel. Being oceanfront.
