A Heavenly Place In Hair

This place is amazing! My family spent the summer in Destin and had a lot of difficulty locating a «black hair salon.» Since we live overseas in a place where they just don’t know how to do our naturally curly hair, we were desperately looking forward to getting our hair done during our summer vacation. We felt relieved when we located A Heavenly Place in Hair and gave it a try! Shea really knows how to do hair! She totally understood my frustrations and wishes… yet was very calm and patient throughout my visit. She trimmed my short hair perfectly (I haven’t had a good haircut in years– as I would often leave feeling as though I looked like a man!) She also gave me a good deep conditioning treatment and covered my grays. I left with the best hair cut/​pixie style I have had in a very, very long time. It’s amazing what a good cut does to one’s confidence! My hair looked super silky and was so soft– I couldn’t keep my hands out of it! Shae also explained every step as she went and even suggested which products are best for my hair type and how to purchase them to take back overseas with me.
She also did a Keratin treatment in both of my teenage daughters’ hair. And they still look amazing! My girls have kinky, curly hair and it was often very difficult to manage it –especially in humid weather. The mild keratin treatment she recommended and used has been miraculous for us! They can still wear their hair naturally curly (but the curls look better and don’t shrink!) or they can choose to straighten it with a flat iron — in which it has nice body and looks great! Both of their levels of confidence has increased too– just from this change in their hair! They are looking forward to starting school in just a few days… and for the first time, seem to feel really good about their hair. They have been trying different styles with braids and pony tails… it’s sweet.

Coming from San Antonio, TX and having the same hair stylist for many years. I was worried I wouldnt be able to find a good hair stylist. I found Heavenly Place in Hair using Unilocal.After seeing several photos of Shae’s work on Facebook and Instagram I decided to give it a go. Im really glad I did I absolutely love this place. Shae was very positive and friendly. It is located in a great location and the price is very affordable. The scheduling system that she uses was very convenient. I have already scheduled my next appointment. Heavenly Place for hair is now my new salon home.

Im from louisiana and was visiting Florida on vacation and needed to get my hair done. i was able to get a same day appt and the stylist tanisha gave me a braided updo that i fell in love with. i was very satisfied and she did a fantastic job. all of the staff was very friendly and greeted me with a smile as soon as i walked in. the price was reasonable and the salon atmosphere was very nice. i definitely plan to revisit this salon the next time I visit florida (which i do every summer). The salon I had previously used was just getting too busy at the expense of customer service and it was time for me to go. This place had glowing reviews on Unilocal and is close to home so I figured I’d give it a try. Two visits later, I’m still patting myself on the back and playing with my (super soft) hair.
Happily, I’ve been able to get appointments when I need them and I’ve been to Jessica both times since she’s done a great job. I’m well on my way to Targaryen blonde (white-​blonde for the non-​GoT fans) and my hair has never been softer and shinier thanks to the deep conditioning she gives my hair after coloring.
The salon itself is small and relaxing, everyone is friendly and the prices and products are great. I think I’ve found my new place.

I had moved to the Emerald Coast about a year and a half ago, and I purposely dragged my feet in finding a reputable hair salon because of past «screw-​ups» that left me discouraged. Enter salon owner and hair goddess, Shae. I’m just going to cut to the chase. Personable Shae took my mixed, badly-​in-​need-​of-​a-​good-​cut hair and worked her magic. I needed some length removed, long-​layers added, and some beautiful curls to complete the request. Shae did just that! The result: Beautifully layered hair, insane curls that lasted all week, and bounce and shine which left me skipping all the live-​long day! Bottom line: Shae did what I had asked for and I left ready for date night with her essence of diva-​ness to boot! She has great prices and her superbly anointed hands are ready to fix your tresses! I’m the kind who never comes out of a salon satisfied, but eversince I started coming here, I have been pleased every time. The salon is clean. The appointments are timely. I have never been there more than a couple of hours. The prices are very reasonable. They don’t overprice and stack on costs for each service like other salons tend to do. They accept credit/​debit. The salon has many black hair care products available for purchase too.
I am very happy! I will keep coming here for sure!
