Very nice quiet campground. There is a boat launch in the campground but no swim area. Look out for snakes as this area is full of them! Someone killed a copperhead in the laundry room. I guess he got in through a vent. That said, I’ve only seen 2 snakes and both were dead. There’s a nice swimming beach with lifeguard and slides a little down the road but not in walking distance. They’re open Friday-Tuesday. Lots of fun for your kiddos. There is no sewer here but the dumping station is close. Nice showers and bathroom that are kept very clean. We tried to use them as much as possible to avoid having to use the dumping station so often. We stayed 6 weeks in short term sites while my husband attended a course here. We just had to obey the Army Reg homesteading law and move to a different site every two weeks. Pros: trees are kept trimmed away from site, quiet, private, level sites, nice bathroom, shower, rec room and laundry facilities, wild turkey are fun to watch, nice road to run/walk, swingset and playground, beach not far. AT&T cell service was pretty good here. I was able to stream netflix sometimes. Cons: no swimming, a little swampy, no sewer, snakes, distance from px/gas/commissary.(Minus 1 star, but if I could give a half star back I would). Tip: if you’ve not been here before, for entertainment your best bet will be in Dothan. If you leave the Ozark gate and take a right on 231 to get to Dothan you will have to go about 25 miles and there’s a nice Target, Kohl’s, theatre, mall and plenty of familiar restaurants including La Parilla, outback, Cracker Barrel, red lobster, Hooters, Longhorn etc. Also, a small water park is off Westgate Parkway. If you are looking to go to a Florida Beach while you’re close? For the party crowd and for lots of activities for kids go to Panama City Beach. For a more quiet beach experience go to Destin or Pensacola. All can be day trips. Have a great time y’all!
