Everglades Day Safari

This tour started great. Was fun filled, and the guide was energetic, informed and offered information on a variety of subjects. The nature walk was made better by her knowledge base of the plants, animals, and history. Air boat ride took us literally through the plant life, and we saw alligators nesting and in the water. Operator was informed and made us feel welcome. Lunch was provided at the oyster house restaurant and was excellent. Thumbs up and then some. Don’t miss this day in aw Florida

Mom and I had a great time with Randy and the gang. We learned lots of history about the area and about wildlife. There is a good bit of riding on this one so be prepared to sit back and listed to Randy tell you all about the area!
The team puts together several different event with other companies and coordinates everything!
Little pricey and afterwards thought it would have been better to plan this ourselves, but we still had a good time.

My wife and I took the Everglades Day Safari. Overall the tour was really good, but expensive.
Ultimately, the pieces of the tour were great. I enjoyed the nature walk, the boat ride, and the air boat ride and our main tour guide, Randi, was fantastic. She had a lot of great information about the culture and ecology of the area. I did not like the place they bring you to lunch and had trouble seeing out of the van so did not love the wildlife drive or driving in general. I think I had the one bad seat, so odds are you can see out of a window better than I did. But, I kept googling the prices if you did this on your own– and it would cost much much less.
I also do not have a lot of experience tipping on tours. All the previous tours I have been on, tipping was included. Oddly, this is also the most expensive tour I have been on. I think I may have stiffed our main guide– but really am not sure– but she was great– any under tipping was my own lack of understanding. It would improve the experience if they could just add the tip money onto the cost and not make people worry about it during the day.
If money is not an issue– I recommend you go on this tour, it makes the day easy and educational and we did see a decent amount of wildlife. If money is an issue go ahead and check out the separate parts individually with your own car and maybe get a book on the area to be your guide. If I did it again, I would be my own guide and save some cash.

My husband, daughter and I vacationed in Ft. Myers, FL (in early August). We planned on an Everglades tour, but there were so many around and every single one guaranteed to be the best!
We decided to go with Everglades Day Safari only because they offered an entire day tour. If we were driving an hour, we wanted more than a 60-​minute tour.
We were so glad to have selected EDS. Our driver/​tour guide was Adam. He is a wealth of knowledge and definitely has a passion for all of it. There is never one dull (and silent) moment with Adam. But, trust me — you will appreciate the continued flow of information. (Heads up – Adam is not the guide on the airboat and boat cruise.)
The airboat ride was very cool. We saw 5 – 6 alligators, tons of birds and bugs! The boat cruise was OK. Our guide (different from Adam) did not speak much — which is the only reason why I rated our trip 4 (vs. 5 stars). So, trust me when I say that you will appreciate Adam’s continued flow of information.
The nature walk was great! It was extremely hot and humid, but everyone still enjoyed this part of the trip. Glad that Adam was our guide on the walk; otherwise, it would have been difficult to deal with the surroundings.
Adam will keep you interested, informed, engaged and laughing. If possible, schedule your tour around Adam’s availability. Ask for him, I promise you will not regret it.

Definitely NOT for youths!!!
Families with kids, couples and elderly people can enjoy this trip as there are some airboat rides and ferry rides in Gulf of Mexico. Our tour guide was an excellent man and he was so funny. He couldn’t stop talking and was explaining many things as he drove us to the swamps.
This ride also includes lunch provided by the tour organizer. Website advertised that the day safari is $ 145 per adult. We called them directly and booked tickets for $ 135. Also, we booked tickets for 12 and one of our friends couldn’t come to the trip due to flight delays. Surprisingly, the tour operator refunded our money for one ticket without any hassles. Everything was good and smooth.
We were gang of 12 youths visiting Miami for the first-​time. We researched in internet trying to find best places to visit in Miami. We pulled a list of all places and Everglades safari ride is one among them. At that point we didn’t think why we chose this trip. Finally we realized that we ended up wasting one day of our trip in this ride. There was no meaning to us in being there.
Our tour guide was showing us alligators and grass hoppers doing the «deeds». He took us to a ferry ride in nearby river of a small town (I think that’s also called everglades). Ferry trip lasted for 1.5 hrs and we didn’t even see any interesting things except few fishes trying to show their heads off water. Youths shouldn’t take this trip (meaning entire Safari ride as it is waste of money). We (youths) can spend money on other things like water sports in Miami because those are the adventurous things (and there could be other things as well) we can do in Miami.

Really cool tour — and the naturalist guide Jason was absolutely stellar. We had a blast.

The Everglades Day Safari was the highlight of our trip to Southwest Florida. We took a ride on a swamp-​buggy out into the Everglades where we saw lots of wildlife. After a very nice lunch in Everglades City, we took an airboat ride, and got close as you’d ever want to get to alligators. We were guided through nature trails on foot and by bus by Joanne, our extremely knowledgeable tour guide. Next time we’re down that way, we’ll do it again!

Our guide Manfred was very friendly and knowledgeable. It is an all day event starting with a nature walk, followed by a boat tour of the mangroves, lunch, a scenic drive and finished with an hour ling airboat tour. We saw tons of birds, alligators, a snapping turtle and dolphins playing in our boat’s wake in the mangroves. Well worth the money… Get a discount coupon from the hotel’s travel host magazine.
