History

Established in 1999.

Computer Medics was founded by Mike Peterson in 1999, shortly after he moved to Fort Myers. He saw a growing need for onsite computer service, especially among older adults. Back then, computers were mostly large tower systems and very few people would make house calls to fix a computer, especially in a person’s home. This meant that people would need to physically remove their computer from their desk and bring it to a store. This put a strain on their backs, not to mention trying to figure out the confusing array of wires. In addition, Mike’s parents, who retired to Fort Myers, were continually receiving phone calls from their friends asking for computer help. Mike visited Fort Myers and was captivated by the paradise and decided to move his family and start Computer Medics of SW Florida, Inc. Over the years, Computer Medics has grown to 6 employees and over 7000 clients. They are now an authorized Dell Dealer and provide Remote Assistance.

Computer Medics was founded by Mike Peterson in 1999, shortly after he moved to Fort Myers. Prior to moving to Fort Myers, Mike worked for a successful computer store near Spokane, Washington where computers were serviced in the store. However, he saw a growing need for onsite computer service, especially among older adults. Mike’s parents, who retired to Fort Myers, were continually receiving phone calls from their friends asking for computer help. Mike visited Fort Myers and was captivated by the paradise and decided to move his family and start Computer Medics of SW Florida, Inc. Mike Peterson and Computer Medics take pride and pleasure in offering in-​home computer service just like the old time doctors once did.
