Description

Specialties

At Breadsmith, we specialize in hard-crusted breads made from scratch daily with no preservatives or artificial ingredients using time-honored traditions. If hard-crusted breads are not your thing, we also make softer breads and sweets including dessert breads, coffee cakes, cookies, scones, muffins, and brownies. We sample everything we make because we want to make sure you like it before you take it home.

Our most basic breads contain only four ingredients — water, flour, salt, and yeast. The doughs are mixed, shaped by hand, and baked in our steam-injected oven. Our process is slow. We begin making bread at 6:30 at night, and often don’t finish until 7:00 the next morning.

We hope you’ll come in and see us!

History

Established in 2008.

I’m Lisa and my husband is Mark. This is mostly his story, but advertising is my thing, so I’ll tell it for him. He spent the first 20 years of his career in banking, but that was about all he could handle of corporate America. He wanted something that was real, something that he could see and touch.

Years ago, we went to a local bakery, and that was the idea that he kept coming back to. He starting searching the Internet late at night. He found Breadsmith, which is a franchise, and it seemed like exactly what he was looking for. We started getting to know Breadsmith, and liked what we saw. We began the process of finding a space, learning to make bread, and dreaming of what our business would be.

We love what we are doing. We are a few years in now, and are thankful for the people who have supported us since our early days. We enjoy our community and are thankful that we can donate leftover bread to local organizations. We invite you to become a part of our story!
