The food here is not that great. The few times we went, the Phở was substandard and the service was not very good. The staff and the menu looked tired and I regretted going there as soon as I tasted the food. The appetizers were mediocre. It’s a shame because the food was once very good at this place. Management needs to revamp.

Went here awhile ago. Not sure why it was crowded when The two other phở places on the area are much better(bistro Saigon & Saigon kitchen i think). If you want extremely flavorful and authentic phở I recommend traveling a little farther to binh duong in Bloomfield. Anyways, I never thought it was possible to mess up phở. But this place did. The soup was extremely bland, and so was the bahn mi… Left feeling completely dissatisfied. Total waste of money. I’ve honestly never been disappointed by Vietnamese food, but this was clearly not real Vietnamese. Im not one to leave bad reviews, but there are undeservingly quiet phở places in the area that deserve the business this place is getting.

The Phở not that good compare to the others, price is way too expensive, but the good thing is they open 24⁄7.

2.5 to be exact. I’ll round up since this place is open 24 hours. I have been to this place at different times, lunch, dinner, and late night. A few things that stand out to me is that the food is average. For a meal during the day, there are much better options. For a place that offers shabu shabu, this establishment is kept pretty clean. The shabu shabu experience here is in my opinion your average experience and nothing to rave about. As for some of the entrees, the Phở here is hit or miss. One time I was here during the day it was decent, while when I was here at night one time it was bland. Also, one of my trips there at night I tried to order the beef rice bowl, and the server kept telling me they did not have it on the menu, yet it was on the menu and I was pointing at it. I did eventually get an order of it, but I feel the language barrier I had with the server was an issue. I may have just been there at a bad night. Other than that one instance, service is adequate all my other visits.

If you’re looking for some hot food and it’s the graveyard shift, this is the place to go. Staff is easy to get their attention at night and they have bells on the table to call otherwise. It’s a very casual atmosphere here at night– no pressure to eat and go. I personally ordered the beef and noodles shabu. It comes with veggies, beef, noodles, and kimchi. The veggies were fresh(mushrooms, winter melon, Bok Choy, lettuce, and what I think were tofu pieces), the kimchi was good too– not too sour and a nice burn at the end of the bite. The broth is purposely bland so it picks up the flavors of the vegetables while they cook and there’s a sauce bar for other flavorings. On the table comes hoisin, sriracha, and a chili sauce. The noodles are delicious, soft and chewy. The only thing that bothered me was the way the cook tops are positioned. The controls(for the built into the table cook tops) are literally in your lap and if you push it all the way back in, the pot won’t boil. But in the grand scheme of things it’s not enough of a negative to subtract a star. Pricing is high for the shabu but quality is nice. The beef was soft and delicious. The phở isn’t terribly priced and comes in two sizes so you can tailor it to your stomach. The menu is in English and Korean. Highly reccomended!

I love their tofu and avocado sandwich. Great alternative to regular Vietnamese sandwiches. The Phở was simple, light and delicious.

Loved the Shabu Shabu. Not many meat and vegetable options, but the sauce bar had excellent choices, including fresh hot peppers and cilantro soy sauce.

Just had the beef shabu shabu. not saying it is bad, but just a bit underwhelming for the price. The phở here can easily match the quality and content for less than half the price. And I know Chinese hotpot place that gives more flavor and content for less. I would stick with the phở next time.

Pretty good food, most of menu isn’t in English, but they will try to help you. … Ordered the squid shabu soup and it was delightful! My sister and I were pleasantly surprised. Was fun to cook your own too. We also ordered the fish pancake which was very delicious. Definitely ordering that again! Looking forward to bringing the kids next time. I didn’t realize they’re open 24hrs, will have to keep that in mind in the future!

Decent selection of food for dinner, good for groups. I stopped by as part of a group of 5 for dinner on a Sunday evening for dinner, and we ordered the Korean pancake and skewered octopi as a starter, along with several bowls of phở and some hot pot entrees. The pancake was actually decent and came with some maekgolli as part of a special, which was appreciated, and the skewed octopi was also pretty tender. The hot pot, however, was just alright, as the frozen meat not particularly fresh and the noodles that accompanied it not very plentiful. The set up is pretty convenient, though, and it works well for medium to large sized groups.

I tried the same brand in Palisade park and Manhattan and was not impressed. It was pretty much the same story at this branch, too. The only difference is that this branch also serves small octopus dishes, which is a very popular ingredient in Korea. We ordered regular phở with everything in it, and also ordered a grilled marinated small octopus. It was good portion, but it would have been better if there were more meat in the dish because I thought it was less than average in terms of the amount of meat. Grilled octopus was ok and fun to eat because it came out yakitori style, but the taste was just ok.

This place should not say they serve Phở. That was tasteless and should cost you only $ 4 not $ 12 for that poor attempt. I’m not Vietnamese but I’ve eaten at legit places in California. AVOID this place. I should have realized it was bad, when there was only 2 people inside. Maybe their other dishes are good, but I’m not coming back.

The Story: I think after talking about Phở non-stop to my boyfriend, he finally caved and took me out to get Phở mwhaha Food: This place isn’t the best in terms of broth. Their broth is very bland but their bowl is huge! They are also open 24 hours, so it makes a great place to go for late night eats. [If anyone has an outstanding Phở place — inbox me!] Price: They raised the prices the last time I was here. Still a decent buy, between two people we spend around $ 40(with tip included) and that’s me ordering an app as well. Décor: Very spacious and clean. Their parking lot is a little confusing though. Service: I didn’t have much of an impression on the service. Our waiter came to take our orders, refill our waters and gave us our checks. Simple. Parking & Finding the Place: Has its own parking lot, which is convenient since the street is a busy one. Additional Thoughts: Not the best Phở place around. But they have a good selection of other food and is open 24 hrs. Definitely better than McDonalds when I’m hungry late

Phở here is okay. I would recommend if you were trashed. Not to say it’s such a bad thing, its just this place offers large portions(good) for a cheap price(good) that’s OK in taste in their best day. This is speaking only about the phở and Vietnamese food, haven’t tried the hot pot here yet. I would recommend for large groups, can be a rowdy as you want since the average crowd here is 20-something and drunk with their friends as well. Go here is you are super hungry and looking for a laid back place.

I’m not from around the area but this seems to be one of the places to go for phở around here. I’m extremely picky with my phở and I’m used to the slightly oily broth that will make any hangover go away and this place was good but not what I consider to be authentic. The broth was extremely clean and they did serve the broth with a lot more noodles than meat but that’s me being picky. Overall, for the area, a good place to go to and very friendly and fast service. If you are craving phở, it’s a place you should check out.

It’s 1am… there’s no where in our town to go besides bars. If you want good and authentic phở during normal hours, this is NOT your spot. If you want to end your night of drinking and kill that rumbling that you know will persist until the morning, this is your spot. I’d like to use the analogy of… Chinese run Japanese sushi restaurant — u want authentic sushi that isn’t drenched with spicy mayo to drown out the old taste of the tuna? Don’t go that Chinese run Jap restaurant. This place doesn’t sell real phở but it’s the next best thing to go to if you’re hungover. Culturally, the hangover cure is different for Asians — you use hot broth/soup. not greasy pizza and fries. The caterpillar picture really made me sick to my stomach, but hell, I was hungry. We got the summer rolls — I make better summer rolls than that, but the sauce station helped. Killed the blandness with some seriously hot peppers. I ordered the chicken phở — I completely forgot that my phở was anything but plain, because there was literally one piece of chicken in there. What, you ran out of chicken and decided not to tell me? The girl at the register was wearing a long wig and looked like she was ready to cosplay it out — weird, but I guess that shouldn’t affect my judgment about the food. Ban chan(side dishes) — nonexistent. But for the kimchi(yes, the kimchi where the caterpillar came out of kimchi served to the outraged reviewer), there’s nothing to nibble on. It was strangely packed by people in their 40s and 50s on a Wednesday night at 1am. They either just arrived from Korea or were heading for a road trip, perhaps? If you want good phở, try the other Viet phở restaurants in Fort Lee, or go to Hana in Palisades Park.

This place should be called Shabu Shabu & Phở and not the other way around. Sorry to say but by far, one of the worst phở’s I’ve had so far… I would not come back here to eat phở again. Theh broth is not very flavorful but bland. And the noodles were bloated rather than chewy. However, the shabu shabu isn’t too bad. I would rather eat shabu shabu over the phở anyday. They have a variety of options for the shabu shabu and they have good ingredients. But seemed a little overpriced. Their grilled pork were mediocre too. Flavor was good but the meat was overcooked. Service is okay, kinda spotty and slow. Overall, I wouldn’t be coming back here for more…

It was roughly $ 80 for a seafood shabu shabu serving, a beef shabu shabu serving, and a seafood pancake. Not cheap, but it filled the void. The pancake was $ 20 and massive. I like crispy so this was heaven and had chunks of seafood on it. We took 75% of it home and reheated it in the oven. Yes, it’s greasy and needs to be degreased a bit. We got seated at a table for 4 and used separate pots. I’m not sure how it works if there were 4 people. The sauces were good. Ample amount of food. We figured if we did this for the two of us at home, it would be roughly around the same cost(since we like some of the pricey stuff at Hmart). My stove didn’t work well. I couldn’t turn it under 310 degrees unless I wanted to turn it off. Service wasn’t bad but we never got soup bowls so we drank out of whatever low plate/bowl they gave us.

I recently rediscovered Phở Thai Lao Kitchen. It had been several years since I had last visited this open-24-hour hidden gem. Now that I have remembered them I have been there twice within the last month, and I don’t think I will forget about it again. $ 50 for a filling, entertaining meal for two(that’s including a $ 15 bottle of Soju(@ 20% alcohol) = A leave-with-a-buzz pure win experience if you ask me! I call it a hidden gem because it is not easily identifiable from the main street if you are driving or walking past; you can tell it is a restaurant but not exactly what kind. Unless you are Unilocaling for a phở restaurant I doubt you would ever find it. In the past I have always made the trip out to this restaurant for the phở, and shabu shabu(Hot pot) however, after reading some of the other reviews I am considering trying some other pre-prepared food offerings on the menu. For now let’s talk about what I know here best… the shabu shabu: If you are here for the shabu shabu be sure to sit at a table with a burner. The experience is one-of-a-kind and the portion sizes are excellent. Next you order your entrée(usually a meat) the entrée will also come with a generous portion of vegetables(mainly various greens, mushrooms, etc). Next, tack on any additional side dishes of interest(I usually go with additional mushrooms, dumplings, and a second meat) and you are on your way. While your food is being put together the waiter will put a pot of broth on the table burner which will be brought to a boil. Take this opportunity to go choose your broth seasonings(garlic, cilantro, soy sauce, seasoned hot pepper oil etc.) and dipping sauces from the buffet style spread near the door. Once your have your broth seasoned to preference you boil your food in it until it is cooked to your liking. Awesome!
