Udder Sweets

The gal behind the counter and I bonded over mint chocolate chip ice cream and rainbow sprinkles. She was very sweet and always ready with a smile. Plus, her sprinkles application technique was amazing. The whole scoop was covered!
Plus, I can’t really complain about a store that sells nothing but candy. My sweet tooth was definitely happy that I found this place.

I can’t wait to go back! Walk in, and you’re faced with so. much. candy! If you can peel your eyes away from that, you’ll see that the ice cream is in the back.
Coming from a fulfilling lunch, I wanted something small to curb my sweet craving. Well, whaddya know? Unilocal check-​in offer! Free mini-​cone. Sounds just what I needed. I chose the cappuccino kahlua, and the guy tried to pile on as much ice cream as he could on my mini-​cone. How nice!
It wasn’t until after Mark A. paid for his ice cream (mini-​cone was way too small for him) that I noticed the topping bar. This is where I freaked out! It has always been my wish to have an ICE CREAM place that allows do it yourself toppings like the frozen yogurt bars. It’s been a concept I’ve been talking about and possibly starting my own in the far future. Well, Udder Sweets beat me to it! I don’t know if I’m so overjoyed that someone answered my wish or disappointed that someone stole my idea. Ha. Either way, I’ll definitely be back and make use of that topping bar!

So. You know that simile, «like a kid in a candy store»? Udder Sweets made me question why the comparison is limited to just kids. At a ripe age of 28 years old, I like to think I’ve finally outgrown being a kid — though my girlfriend might beg to differ. Originally wanting something sweet, I was hoping to check out Schakolad. To my immediate dismay at the time, I was sorely disappointed to find out it no longer resides on Las Olas Blvd. However, not far from where it once was, lays a gem in and of itself. I was drawn by the ice cream benches sitting outside the doors to this establishment. As I walked in, I felt as though I stumbled across the gates of candy heaven!
Ok. Slight embellishment. However, the myriads of candy left me standing in the same spot for a few minutes, frozen by all teeth rotting delights that I could desire. (sidenote: I only moved because I felt other patrons filing in behind me & I didn’t want to be that guy.)
Anyway, we went for ice cream. The mini cone check-​in offer from Unilocal is a cute little serving that’s basically a glorified taster on a cone. Cool, though. (Heheh.) The mint chip was on point. Acelyn B’s mini cone of Kahlua Chip (?) was pretty good too. It definitely was NOT a serving for my ice cream appetite though. I have every desire to return to get my fix of guilty pleasures that will just contribute to my belly & rotting teeth. Gotta live dangerously right?

Not much to this place you would think… but there is! Such a great assortment of sweets and more sweets until your belly is content. Great place to stock up before hitting the movies :)

Really good ice cream. One of the best I’ve ever had. Better than cold stone in my opinion. Sorry I didn’t take a pic it was too good to put down.
I had the cappuccino w Kahlua. Omg! It was sooooo good. I asked for 2 scoops in a cup, no waffle cone. Lord knows I don’t need the extra calories. I asked for walnuts but they had pecans instead. I sprinkled some chocolate sprinkles and dropped 3 cherries in that baby.
Keep in mind that they charge by weight so don’t get crazy adding extras.
The service was very friendly.
The bill came to approx $ 15 for 2 ice creams.
Wish I lived closer to this place.

Would never had tried this place if it weren’t for the check in event this past week. The ice cream was really good and they even have bulk candy in a bunch of sugar free flavors. When I got my mini scoop for the check in offer, I liked the ice cream so much I got a regular scoop! I would go back if I was in the mood for ice cream and down on Las Olas. They had some unusual flavors with alcohol in them. I’m always up for some ice cream with alcohol in them.
Price wise I think it is pretty on par with places like Kilwins and Coldstone. There was only the one guy working in the store and it’s pretty small. A cute little place with quite a few choices in sweets.

The ice cream selection was pretty limited, but had some interesting flavors. I had the caramel cheesecake. It was rich and creamy with a lot of caramel, but I never found the cheesecake.
Prices were about average.

They had two «no sugar added» flavors and neither was Butter Pecan! For those of you who do not have to watch for NSA ice cream, it is almost always Butter Pecan. They had a Berry and a Cinnamon Apple NSA ice cream here. And NSA/​sugar free candies, too.
Turns out, the sugar free licorice is great, too! There just aren’t enough places to get sugar free black licorice.

One look at Udder Sweets while walking on Las Olas and you KNOW that within these walls lies a motley of delicious treats that you just have to be a part of! When you enter, the candy bar immediately on the right contains all the popular treats including some sugar free options. On your left is a glass case with some chocolate inspired treats. Proceed directly to the back where the ice cream freezers hold dozens of flavors. Each one is better than the next!!!

After having dinner nearby, a friend and I stumbled across Udder. I had never heard of them. I saw they had every gummy and sour candy I love. They also had a few I had never seen. I got a bag and loaded it up with some of all the gummy and the sour candies. My bag was a nice size. It came out to be almost $ 13 based on .69 cents an oz. I was a little surprised but figured I was worth it. Often when I buy a box of Sour patch kids or gummi bears in the store, half of it is just air or plastic wrapping. So not sure which is my best value. But I am a sucker for sour and gummy candies.

Not bad at all! Had the (must-​be-​21) kahlua/​cappuccino ice cream and it was pretty tasty. The selection of flavors was modest and toppings all looked fresh. Nothing really jumped out at me here — the service was so-​so and the parking situation on Las Olas was disastrous. The gelato station up in Wilton has more character, many more innovative flavors and is the standard for judging this place. Definitely an OK experience, though, and I’d gladly go back if I were already wandering about the Las Olas area in search of an after-​dinner treat.

Loved it. Just wish I was in Florida permanently so I could enjoy this place more: D

Toasted coconut ice cream!

I was coming out of Ibiza with my new pair of sneakers when my friend decided to have ice cream. I wasn’t too much in the mood but she decided to cross over while i waited in the car. Shortly after she came with her ice-​cream and four small servings of 1) Pumpkin cheesecake, 2) Pumpkin pie 3) Rum raisin 4) Kalhua /​Cappuccino. I grinned and told her i didn’t want ice cream. She literally forced me to try it in a very convincing matter, so i couldn’t resist for too long.
OMG was it good. She told me how the rum raisin which also has shaved almonds was spiked with Capt M. and you literally have to be 21 in order to have order or try the ice cream. I was sold on the place so i had to get off the car and just go in to say hi.
I met Jay Boswell, the manager and a genius at costumer service. He gave me a little history about the shop and went over a lot of the flavors. They have a huge variety of different sorbets and ice creams. Over 32 + flavors (see pictures for the most intricate choices).
When i turned around not only do they have ice cream but it is also a candy store. They have all different types of cavity producing indulgences that tempt you to forget about your working pancreas and encourages you to carry some Humulin anyways, just in case.
I was trying to sell the idea about having two small fountains (chocolate/​vanilla) so that for some pocket change anyone can have a hard shell on their ice cream cone if they would like. I think i pretty much sold the idea and maybe on my next visit or maybe when you go you’ll have it available for you.
Friendly staff, very clean and organize establishment, amazing concoctions and very sweet deals on good quality ice cream.
PS: Boswell and i agree that if the rum raisin is only allowed for anyone over the age of 21, it should be spiked a little more…
In addition: the rum raisin ice cream at Todo Frio has a lot more alcohol and there’s no age restriction CRAZYYYYY

Me and my boyfriend were trying to ditch the rain and walked into Udder Sweets, the girl at the counter was immediately warm and inviting. She answered all of our questions and let us have little nibbles of candies that we’ve never heard of before! They make most of their products in-​store and have a great selection of manufactured sweets like gummies and wrapped bars and stuff. But the reason to go is their ice cream bar and chocolate selection. It’s a make-​it-​yourself sundae counter with a zillion toppings, some i’ve never seen like boba beads (sp?) they’re little bubbles filled with flavored syrup. and they have chocolate covered bacon, oreos, marshmallows, potato chips, and much more. so good! They also had a rice crispy bar on a stick — covered in all of the ingredients to make a pecan turtle! what?! And among all of the regular species of candy apples, they had an Apple Pie flavored apple — carmel, white chocolate, and apple pie spice like cinnamon sugar! The girl working there knew we were about to catch a flight so she offered to cut the apple up for us, she was honestly the embodiment of the most perfect and over-​the-​top customer service that i’ve experienced in a while. She needs a raise!

Dropped in after eating tacos one night. I never noticed an i walk past like everyday lol. Anyhow my friend wants a candy apple, so we go in and to my surprise they have ice cream! What? They are like the only ice cream place on the bloc. How do u not advertise this? And not only ice cream, but make your own sunday. So the staff is super nice, selection is awesome. Lots of specialty candy like dark chocolate kit kat and white chocolate kit kat. Had a super awesome experience here.

Serving up ice cream, shakes, chocolates, cupcakes, cookies and candy, UdderSweets is a sugarholics dream! They have something for everyone, from candy apples to bulk candy offerings including giant jawbreakers and gummy bears. The best part about this shop is that everything is homemade from the ice cream to the chocolates. The shop features 32 flavors of ice cream with the motto «we scoop it and you top it.» My favorite of UdderSweets’ is their homemade chocolates which includes chocolate-​dipped oreos, truffles, caramels and fudge; but the jumbo peanut butter cup is what I die for. It is udderly delicious! After only a few bites, you will be chocolate wasted.
They currently have locations in Weston and in Fort Lauderdale/​Las Olas. I have been to both, but prefer the Las Olas location because they offer a bigger selection and since I don’t go for the ice cream or the candy, I find that the selection is also fresher. Although some might find it to be a bit pricey, for me it is well worth it because I can say that there is a huge difference between the peanut butter cups I find here and what I can get at any convenience store.

The first time I was introduced to the concept of make you own sundae was at Yo Mama’s in the village right off A1A and Sunrise Blvd. The idea is the same but Yo Mama’s is smaller and appears warmer and friendlier.
I assume Udder, like Yo Mama, charges by the ounce, but I didn’t see any price signs around. They, like Baskin-​Robbins, advertises 32 flavors. This per ounce can add up – for two of us the price came to $ 14.91
They do have a wall of various candies like Kilwin’s only you pick your for purchasing.
UdderSweets takes a little from here and a little from there but not really offering anything original, different or better. I’ll stick to Kilwin’s!
