History

Established in 2007.

Tree of India offers a full line of aromatherapy products as well as jewelry, art, and private yoga therapy classes. Tree of India was founded in 2007 as a yoga instruction company by yoga teacher, Jessica Lohrey. As a teenager, Jessica worked for her mother who owned an herb farm and sold essential oils. Inspired by a personal desire to feel more connected to nature, Jessica began to incorporate the use of essential oils into her yoga classes. Her unique blends became popular at local yoga studios and Tree of India’s aromatherapy line was born!

Aromatherapy is an art and science that explores an individual’s physiological, psychological and spiritual responses to aromatic extracts. The Tree of India line of products features blends with both aromatic appeal and therapeutic value. Jessica uses concepts from yoga philosophy, ayurveda, and traditional aromatherapy to create blends that rebalance mind, body, and spirit.

Jessica L.

Business Owner

Jessica began practicing yoga as a way to stay in shape. She quickly noticed the positive changes it was making in other areas of her life. After a life-changing motorcycle accident, Jessica’s physical and spiritual healing led her deeper into her yoga practice. Inspired by what she had learned, she decided to become a yoga teacher. Jessica studied under lifelong yoga practitioner Mike Noury at Yoga of India in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the last 13 years she has studied various forms of yoga in the Krishnamacharya, Sivananda, and Kripalu lineages. Jessica holds a B.S. in Zoology, and spent more than 10 years working as an environmental educator. Her interest in anatomy and physiology has fueled her exploration of yoga as therapy. Jessica is a member of the Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Her advanced yoga teacher training is in the field of Yoga Therapy.
