Swimming with a purpose

History

Established in 1996.

The Swim Academy’s programs quickly expanded into Palm Beach and Broward County and we now maintain several locations throughout South Florida. By adding Swim Teams and colaborating with the Broward County SwimCentral Program, The Swim Academy has grown into the diverse Swim School it is today.

Meet the Business Owner

Marcella M.

Business Owner

I began swimming at age four. I learned and eventually taught swimming in a Girl Scout Water-safety program. I received my BS degree in Recreation Management from East Carolina University and have extensive experience in Commercial Recreation and was a member of the Disney Team which brought me to Florida. I also have a background working with city Parks & Rec. I currently coordinate with Broward County’s Swim Central program the largest community water safety program in the United States.

I have been teaching swimming for over 30 years, but every time I see a student roll onto his/her back and float, I get goose bumps. I look forward to working with your children, so they too will have these vital water safety skills. I now focus on our programs in the Weston and Coral Springs area and their surrounding communities. Please contact me any time you have questions or concerns at marcella@theswimacademy.com.
