For my bachelorette party my girls planned a spa day for me, thinking they actually planned for it at an actual spa and not the downstairs lobby of a hotel I agreed. WORST DECISION I COULD HAVE EVER MADE. I got my nails done on a Thursday and I was to get married on the following Saturday and I just wanted something cute and simple, french tip with a little design on my ring finger. I knew I should have left when the lady was doing my pedicure, my toe actually started bleeding. That was a sign right there, I told her she was hurting me and she still didn’t let up. Fast Fwd to the acrylic, before we even began she asked if I wanted pink and white and I specifically said NO. But what does she put on my nails… the pink and white. Then when I asked her to remove it she got upset. Anyway, she keeps going and I’m looking at my nails like yuck… is this what they’re supposed to look like? (I’ve only had acrylic one other time in life so I’m unsure of the process) I wanted to get up and leave so bad, but we were on a time constraint and I didn’t think I’d have time to get things done before my bachelorette party so I stayed –_​–
So she begins drilling my nails and she kept cutting my cuticles and the sides of my nails. I kept jumping and saying that hurt and she proceeds to tell me it’s just the heat from the drill. I was like lady that’s not the heat, you are hurting me. At this point I just wanted everything to be over. But it gets worse… her and her coworker got into a full blown argument in front of my friends and I. The other girl who was essentially verbally attacked called the manager and the lady hung up on the manager. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. My friends actually left at that point, I stayed because at this point it was too late. She finishes my nails and asks me if I like them, I told her no and start showing her what I don’t like and she gets offended and yells at me «Well you don’t have to pay». IT WAS HONESTLY THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND TWO DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING DAY. I cried… I had a full blown bride melt down. I walked up the street to Charisma salon and when I walked in the lady said you need a hug and a glass of wine before I even told her what happened.
Long story short DON’T DO IT LADIES!!! I DON’T SEE HOW THEY’RE STILL IN BUSINESS. When I got the nails taken off my nail tech freaked because my nails were completely ruined!!!

I purchased a groupon for shellac and pedicure. When I called to make an appointment the lady on the phone asked me how much I paid for the groupon, I told her that don’t remember because the voucher does not have the price on it, she said that if I want the service I have to come and pay directly the groupon price (I also used the 20% off when buying my groupon). When I told her again that I already bought the groupon and and can’t cancel it — she told me «I don’t know». What am I suppose to do with the groupon ??? Never use it??? She would keep repeating that I cannot use the offer and I should pay directly at her salon!!! Now I’m on the wait with customer service and will try to cancel and report this salon because they apparently are trying to get past groupon!!!

My friend and I had a Groupon for a mani/​pedi and were not impressed with the salon. In the lobby I asked where the salon was and the man seemed miffed that I asked. When we went to check in, we found it to be very small and crowded without the ambiance that you’d expect for a spa in a beach hotel. We weren’t even sure where the reception was and there were no chairs to wait in. They had only booked one of us. In the background one of the employees was visibly irritated at the disorganization. They did finally do the services. When I asked about validating our valet ticket, they said they only do that for clients. I said that I was a client and she said not if you used a Groupon. I found this place highly unprofessional and would never return.

I also got a Groupon deals to get a shellac manicure and pedicure. The woman who did my nails is not very friendly and she didn’t do the greatest job. I agree with other people whose of the place looks somewhat dirty. I would not recommend this place and I will never go back again.

Had a mani/​pedi here and I have to say that it’s pretty gross. The lady who did my mani/​pedi was nice, but the salon is dirty, poorly run, and chaotic. The sanitation was non-​existent — really disturbing. I also had trouble with the appointment time I made, as have other commenters. I showed up on time and my appointment was in the book but I had to wait for a pretty long time before anyone was available. There is no waiting/​sitting area so it’s pretty awkward just standing there. I would not return.

DISGUSTED. I received a Groupon for this salon for a Mani/​Pedi as a gift from a friend. I called to make an appointment, was told that they don’t take Groupons after 3pm (not sure what that has to do with it). I got an appointment for 3 pm, drove 30mins to get there and was assisted by a strange older gentlemen who said they couldn’t help me because no one was there. The salon is small, dark, disorganized and not very clean. Having no choice, I rescheduled to a Friday at 4pm (what happened to no Groupons after 3pm?). On returning I walked in and there were 2 unkempt ladies sitting behind nail booths both eating greasy slices of pepperoni pizza that were dripping oil on a paper plate. Neither got up. The conversation went something like this:
Lady/​ies: Yes?
Me: Hi I’m booked for a 4pm appointment.
L: We don’t have anyone booked for that time.
Me: I was helped by an older gentleman last time, can we get him?
L: He’s in Connecticut. What? You want me to call him?
Me: yes, sure
L: I’m not calling him
Me: This is the second time that I’ve driven 30 mins to get here only to be told the same thing. I don’t think this is very good service.
L: doesn’t matter, your Groupon has expired anyway.
Me: it’s expired because you guys cancelled my last appointment.
L: what? You expect us to use the expired one and not make any money?
Me: you would have done the same thing for the same voucher at my last appointment.
L: I’m not doing it. If you want it done you can pay more or call Groupon. They got the money not us.
All of this was expressed with a rude tone and a lot of attitude (one of the ladies said she was the manager). Seems extremely counterproductive for a business to organize a Groupon campaign and then play this game with customers, and by the looks of the other reviews it appears I am not alone.
I was appalled by the place, the service and the attitude. I intend to take this matter further. I would absolutely not recommend this salon. Ever.

Worst place ever, staff are not polite at all, dirty place, girls there talked bad about other employees, fast and bad pedi mani service, 3 days with shellac mani and they were gone, I been calling and calling to ask for the owner for a free touch up and she is never in and girl on the phone is always nasty, not polite at all. They never know at what time to find the owner.

I bought a groupon for a $ 22 manicure pedicure an scheduled an appointment for noon. I called letting them know I was running 15 minutes late at 11:45am. Parking was solely valet. When I walked into the hotel to get to the salon, the three ladies at the desk wouldn’t stop talking to each other for me to ask where the salon was. After wandering an finding the salon myself, I arrived at 12:20. There was a seven year old child slumped over the chair (presumably the child of one of the ladies go worked there) there were only two women working on a Saturday. I said I was there got my appointment an she said she could no longer fit me in anytime that day. She seemed rude & uncaring. The place itself was small, run down, and there did not seem to be a great selection of nail colors to choose from. I will be asking for a refund from Groupon and not retuning there again.

I usually think people are exaggerating about how bad things are. This place is beyond horrible. Difficulty with guy making appt. then they were surprised when I showed up on time? Don’t mention how cold the salon is or you’ll be kicked out. She told me if I mention her clothes that she «would do things to me». The hotel says they have no affiliation. She chased me into the managers office and started screaming at me. How is this okay?

This salon is grungy and the staff have zero customer service skills. I definitely do NOT recommend this place.

I also had a groupon but had a wonderful experience. I called and made a last minute mani pedi appointment just before closing time. They stayed late and waited for me. The owner was very nice. She offered me a glass of wine and appetizers. I also had a very nice Russian lady who was excellent. My mani pedi lasted the average 2 weeks.
I would recommend this place to anyone and will be returning with friends. There is a great restraurant– tokyo blue, beach, pool, and tiki bar in the hotel as well. Next time I visit I plan to make it a girls spa day!

Worst experience I have ever had at a salon. Bought a groupon for a highlight, cut and blow dry. The front desk receptionist was completely unprofessional and my appointment was almost an hour late, with no apology or explanation. My highlights look terrible and the cut is even worse. My hair wasn’t styled or blown dry. Should’ve done my homework, wouldn’t go back if someone paid me!

All I can say is that the girl who did my nails was very nice. The salon was dirty, the tools were old, and there wasn’t much of a selection of polish colors. I got the spa pedicure and shellac manicure and I am 100% disappointed. The shellac dried very lumpy and my nails weren’t evenly filed down. I had to rush to an appointment otherwise I would have complained and gotten at least 5 out of my 10 nails redone. Never going back.

The worst service I have ever experienced. I waited 30 minutes to even be spoken to, and I finally walked out and went to the salon across the street. Encore Salon, was so much nicer and more accomodating. Go there instead. On the Ocean seemed to only care about the people living in the apartment it was attached too, not to the public. Stay away!!!

Amazingly unique experience here totally opposite of other reviews. Very friendly staff. Great haircut for a man and comfortable getting nails done. For the price, I can’t imagine anyone could be better. Add a drink at the Tiki Hut afterward, and that is the way to have a relaxing day… And they even give you a coupon for a second drink for free. Many thanks! Try it!

Please stay away, don’t lose your time or money, this place is the WORST!!!
I went today using a groupon for a mani-​pedi for me and my mom. We were late for our appointment but I called ahead of time to let them know we were running late and they said it was ok… well when we got there I was informed by the owner (this hoochi mama looking, older latin women) we could only do mani OR pedi because we were late, I asked to re-​schedule because I didn’t want to lose half of the groupon and she said that wasn’t an option and in the most unprofessional and rude way reminded us that we only paid $ 17 for a mani-​pedi, so getting just one service wasn’t that bad (in other words, take it or leave it).
I couldn’t believe my ears, the reason why I bought the groupon is because we wanted to try this place at a discounted place, if I wanted to pay regular price we would’ve gone somewhere else.
Anyways, I was so upset but still decided to get the service done (I already lost half my money, I wasn’t going to lose the rest of it).
The mani was ok, nothing special, I’ve had much better, the place was dirty, outdated and the hotel valet parking isn’t even complimentary for clients.
Short story long, if you want to save yourself a headache and a disappointment avoid this place at all costs!

This place was utterly disgusting! Not to mention the lady with NY accent, maybe the manager, was very rude. She gave employees a hard time in front of customers, discussed poor tips in front of us, and checked people into the hotel in the «salon». I can guarantee that the nail technicians are not certified. the tools they used had dead skin from a previous customer, chairs had grime from day before (we had first morning appt). Not sure how they pass any regulatory inspections! I wouldn’t go back even if I was offered a free pedicure.

I’m a sucker for Groupon deals. The special was $ 21 for Mani-​Pedi with Eyebrow or Lip Wax (Up to $ 45 Value). Usually spa-​style mani-​pedis are on average $ 30 so I thought of giving this place a try.
I called ahead and made an appointment. The salon is located at the Ocean Manor Resort Hotel. When I got there the lady at the counter (owner maybe?) took my Groupon and went to clean one of the foot-​spa tubs (used in all nail salons). The 3 available foot spa chairs were dirty. Mind you, I was still standing at the front desk. Guess it would’ve been nice to be asked to sit down maybe and wait till my chair was ready.
The person doing the actual mani-​pedi was an older lady. She was very nice. However, she didn’t know much about the Groupon deal and barely spoke any English. The owner left for the day (it was about 5:30pm) leaving the nail tech working on me to close up,
I will not be back again. The foot tub felt grimy (gross!). The nail polish color options were very limited. The place itself was far from spotless. AND I didn’t get the eyebrow waxing that was part of the Groupon.
