Lockhart Stadium

Home of the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers!!! I have seen different National Football (soccer) Teams and International teams in this stadium. Overall is an ok stadium is an old stadium but is conveniently located close I95 and to turnpike in commercial blvd. It does take some time to park like every event and their will call is no good. Hope they make some changes and improve the stadium.

I live going to stadiums and ball parks. I’ve been to Lockhart Stadium twice already, and the structure they have in place is very simple and outdated.
Now that the Strikers have new owners, and hopefully better investors and managers I really hope things change for the better at Lockhart.
I will attend more games there this season. I will update the review as soon as I feel things have changed.
Needs improvement:
Lines are too long for food and drinks
They run our of food and drink before the event is over
You can’t use a credit card as payment, and there’s no ATM there either.

Went to this stadium to watch Venezuela — Peru soccer. Took more than 1 hour to park and then the Will Call and Entry lines were 100+ long.
Very poorly organized and as a result we missed the first half.

Just came back from the WORST sporting event in history! This stadium let a company «Ticketon» sell their tickets for the soccer game Peru-​Venezuela. Well, everything that could go wrong went wrong! Where do I start… Traffic was chaotic many blocks before even arriving at this venue, there were no staff workers or police officers directing traffic. I should have known this was going to be a disaster. After 25 minutes trying to make it to the parking lot and paying $ 10 to park on a dirt road I went to pick up my tickets which I had purchased online. There were no workers to let people know where to go for the online tix, there were bullies trying to cut in line and a few times people had to kick them out. People had to wait in line over AN HOUR to pick up their online tickets!!! by the time I got to pick up mine the first half of the game was already finished. …and there were hundreds of people outside still!!! There were only 2 windows for online tix and 2 windows for cash/​credit tix… all of them extremely slow. Seemed like they had an old fashioned system… everybody talked about that. When I finally made it to the inside of the stadium (an hour and a half after I arrived) I noticed there people all over the stadium, there was no control over who sits where… so those who paid for the cheap tix got to sit on the seats of those who paid much more… I did not enjoy the game since I had to be squeezed in between other people who I’m not sure were even supposed to be there.
Now, the best part: There was no door check, a lot a people brought fireworks/​flames in… dude!!! there were children!!! How can this be legal? Just for that this place should be banned/​closed/​terminated …After the game I kept hearing people complaining about the terrible organization, some people were really upset to the point they were about to vandalize the joint.
I could go on with how disastrous this stadium’s organization was, but I really want to forget all about this joint. Will never return unless a new management takes over. People, AVOID THIS STADIUM AT ALL COSTS!

Rumor has it that nostalgic Lockhart Stadium will be a launching platform for an amazing new rum product this Strikers season. Anyone know what it is?

Ahh Lockhart, I have some fond memories of you. Saw el Pibe play back in the day when Miami had an MLS team and saw the Village People perform on the field, among other events that took place here. Unfortunately, it’s in major need of renovation but I highly doubt it will ever see the funds for it. Nowadays, you can catch the Fort Lauderdale Strikers games which could make for a nice Saturday night and on some match days they have food trucks lined up an hour before kick off. For now, it’s the only place to consistently support soccer in South Florida and for that reason alone I still find myself happily making the drive up from Miami.

Great place to watch some NASL soccer games. Even though the stadium was built in 1959 it gets the job done for soccer. Only downside is lack of ATM’s, I think they recently took them out and no employees knew where they were moved to or if they even still had them. Most of the vendors take cash only so its kind of a pain. The food is iffy too but whatever. Beer + Soccer = Happy Saturday.

Located just west of Commercial Blvd. this is an easy to get to open-​air stadium with seats, a field, snack bar, and pretty clean restrooms on this visit. It’s in need of a face lift, but still a very suitable spot to catch a local high school sporting event. Fun fact: This used to be the NY Yankees and Baltimore Orioles Spring training facility.

This was a really fun place to see a Fort Lauderdale Strikers game. Not too big and had a great fan base!
