Hyatt Regency Pier 66

I would give FIVE stars but the mere fact that management doesn’t care about their employees really gets under my skin. I visited all restaurants on property and almost every single bartender had nothing but complaints about the management. Everything from being understaffed to underpaid and over worked. maintenance needs to be done property wide. Broken faucets in ladies room on main level lobby, broken tp roll holders untidy bathrooms. Our room was perfect, able to check in early and a beautiful view. Food was great at all sites. Everyone very friendly.

The front desk people are amazing! Totally went above and beyond! I had a surprise planned for my girlfriend and you guys helped me nail it!

This is a Lovely Property! I attended a symphony event here one evening, and was not an overnight guest in the hotel, HOWEVER, this is such a beautiful property that I plan to stay here on my next trip back to Fort Lauderdale.
We had wonderful martinis in The Lounge in the hotel lobby, received fast friendly service, and thoroughly enjoyed the view of the property. We then went up to the Pier Top Ballroom on the top floor for the symphony event during which we got to enjoy a panoramic view as the ballroom slowly revolved. Service there was also great, and the food was good too.
We really enjoyed this beautiful property and in particular, the marina views.

Good place, need to update the rooms, very clean rooms and bathrooms, good and fast guess services. The best views all over the place, love to be here again.

Got the a deal on this via Priceline Express, for $ 106 with tax on a Saturday near the water can’t beat it.
Pros:
— Great Price
— Pool is nice Resort feel
— Spacious rooms with a low key paradise vibe

— gas station across the street to get beer and drinks
Cons:
— $$$ drinks food (beer was 6 normal, but mojito was 11 and a burger was 13 by the pool
— the room was renovated but some parts look like they took shortcuts (not bad for price on weekend)
— not much stuff that is close proximity but it’s a quick über ride to more happening places and food
Overall it was a good stay and laid back crowd. Def would stay again. Wish it was closer to the beach but they do offer free shuttle that leave 3x a day. Aside from the drink and food prices great place for ur buck!

To start the staff is amazing!!! I am talking about the whole staff– they really went above and beyond. We were part of a rather large (and rather loud) multi– day event here and everyone was so helpful. The bar staff even donned aloha shirts and the bellhops wore leis to welcome guests and really got into the spirit of our event. They have a cool text for help number and you can use to get an immediate answer– and that was a really nice feature as a hotel guest.
Previously we’ve had a tower room and it was lovely. This year we had a marina room and it was ok. It was a very large room with little furniture so there was a lot of open space. We were on the second floor and the whole thing was hard tile– every square foot was tile– no carpet at all. Which was weird and tough on our feet, wished there was a rug or something. Also no power plugs by the bed without having to unplug a lamp. Also the shower was supposed to 2 glass doors– but there was only 1 which seemed very odd and the other coat/​bathrobe hook was right on top of the light switch?
The hotel menu in the lounge isn’t bad (but pricey) the breakfast was quite overpriced and not really great. Though the staff at both places were really awesome.
Also the music in the hotel was quite cheesy. It was everywhere and at times it was too loud. The music was not my taste at all but since it was everywhere it was hard to escape.
We will likely stay here again– it was a really good experience. All the Pier66 employees are fantastic and they all deserve 5 stars!!!

Enjoyed my stay here. The bar downstairs is also pretty nice. Room service is fast. There is a lot to do out by the pool they have volley ball, chess and even games for kids. Its great for families too. The facility is very clean and everyone was really kind. One mile away from the beach! Will be back!

We have stayed at this Hyatt on a number of occasion. Long before it was a Hyatt it was just Pier 66 a favorite spot to grab a drink in the rotating lounge at the top or lunch or brunch at what is now Grill 66.
Alas the rotating lounge is long gone. That spot being reserved only for special events. The Grill is no longer open for lunch or brunch. Still in all the place has a lot going for it and it is a close drive to lots of a attractions including Las Olas Boulevard.
On this visit I was down for a family event with other family members coming in and needing a place to stay I felt this property would be the most convenient and one I have always liked. It didn’t disappoint.
Check in and check out is a breeze. The desk staff and valet are all super nice and helpful.
We had the buffet at $ 25,00 per person and an ala carte breakfast at around $ 15.00 each in the hotel at Mariners just off the lobby and a light breakfast and lunch at Orchids Pool Bar were the burger runs $ 14.00. It’s all pretty standard Hotel fare. Good not great. Drinks in the Lounge the Bar and small Bite place in the Lobby are standard Ft. Lauderdale prices and it is a pleasant place to have a drink or nibble. Service was excellent and professional at all the property dining spots we visited on this trip.
Sadly Pelican Landings was closed for the season. But it is a fun place to go for a drink and snack. Grille 66 is high end with fine service and good food and a very good wine list. Just be prepared to pay top dollar.
My room on this trip was a queen double junior suite with a large balcony facing northeast. Comfortable bed, lots of pillows a good working space, plus the room had sufficient outlets to plug all our devises without a problem. I also and a refrigerator and coffee maker that provided a decent cup of coffee to get the day started. I had a great view of the ocean, boat docks and pool. Plus it was air show week-​end so I got to watch some of the spectacular displays of the Thunderbirds et al.
Hyatt provides free Wifi a plus because I hate to be nickeled and dime for things like wifi in this day an age.
Housekeeping was top notch and very prompt in providing extra towels and room service was also prompt with the meal I had delivered for my granddaughter and myself.
The pool area is well maintained and I think the best part of this property. We had a cabana for one day and again the attendant service was excellent.
My only criticism of this property is it is in need of some updating. The carpeting in my room was showing the signs of wear as were the upholstered chairs and I’m not sure why there was a piece of the ceiling that looked like it was cut out and put back together again. There were scuff marks on the wall so some repainting or clean up is in order. Though the bathroom was upgraded I’m not sure why just a shower wasn’t installed. But I guess some people still like to take a bath. It’s a combination shower and tub though this tub is pretty shallow. All though very clean the room looked tired. Since you don’t spend a lot of time in your room this may not be a factor but for me it is an indication of how a property in general is being maintained and managed.
Be aware that parking your car will run 25.00 a day or valet 30.00. That’s pretty standard for any decent property on the Beach. So even if you get a great rate with tax and fees and the odds and ends a stay here can be on the higher side. But I think overall it’s worth it.

The 3 star rating for this hotel is spot on. It’s not a bad hotel by any means, but it’s not great. My wife and I stayed in the «marina rooms» which is the older part of the hotel, the tower rooms are the newer part. If you’re going to stay at this hotel, I’d highly recommend paying the extra 30 – 60 dollars a night to stay in the tower rooms, or find another hotel, over staying in the marina rooms.
The pool area is nice and well kept, but the pool water itself is kept very warm. When it’s 80 – 85 degrees outside you want the water/​pool to be refreshing, but it’s not at all. We got two corona beers in a can at the pool bar and paid 12 dollars for those two cans of beer. Unbelievably expensive. We then walked a half mile over the bridge to a Walgreens and got a 12 pack of corona for 13 bucks.
Regarding the marina room, they’ve tried to update them, but you can tell how old the rooms still are. There is rust in the shower, and cracks in the walls and ceilings through out the room. The «patio» you have outside your room on the first floor is pathetic, but if you’re on the second floor you actually have a nice balcony/​patio area. There is no carpet in your room at all, it’s all «tile». The floor wasn’t cleaned super well, so you get little things on the ground that stick to your feet or socks. If you’re on the first floor, you can hear the room above you walking around, and everything little thing they set on the ground because there is no carpet in the rooms. On a positive note, the bed is very comfy and the pillows are very nice as well.
Location wise, the hotel is in an okay area, but grocery stores and restaurants are a good mile walk across the bridge, unless you go to the two they have on the Hyatt property itself. The ambience is very nice and you can take a nice walk around the canal that has tons of million dollar yachts around to look at. Also, this location is very close to a water taxi pick-​up that allows you to travel around the canals.
Just an average hotel, and for the price for the marina rooms, I’ll be staying some where else next time I’m in town.

We rate this hotel with a 3.5. The hotel is a little old but well maintained and clean. Our linen was clean, the maid service was timely and effective and the hotel was clean in the common areas. The pool and outdoor areas were also clean and there was plenty of seating.
The 3.5 out of 5 rating is due to the fact that we were charged a $ 75 per night fee for incidentals without notification and room service charged us an additional $ 10 than we agreed to. The location was was close to shopping, dinning and the beach. Valet parking was reasonable and timely and our stay was comfortable overall. The best part of this stay was the view of the ocean and the marina. We would totally return and recommend this hotel to family and friends,

That was one comfortable stay at the hotel. Check-​in was easy. I had requested a feather free room and they had it ready prior to arrival. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The hotel is located in a convenient location and is close to stores and a pharmacy. Some great eateries nearby as well. The airport is near but not too near where you hear the noise of planes. Perfect stay!

Customer service is poor. Front desk is sometimes/​rude and forgetful with requests.
Food isn’t very good tasting or healthy. If it’s going to be unhealthy it should taste good. Food comes way too fast 10 – 15 minutes no matter if it’s for 1 – 4 people as if the food is already made just waiting on a heater for someone to order.
I’ve come back to my room plenty of times after 6p when I left for the day at 9a with the room not cleaned.
I have to wait for an hour for the simplest things for a long time like laundry bags, I think it’s smart if the laundry/​card and bag are not there (used), it’s nice to replace it while room is being cleaned, so guests can truly come back to a fresh room

Stayed here last night. One of my «go to hotels» and it never disappoints!
— pelican Landing. Great bar overlooking all the massive moneyed yachts. Give me a cold Corona and a grouper sandwich & life is good.
— Orchids. Pool bar. I promise I was working too! Eric is a fabulously talented & engaged bartender. Killer homemade black bean burger with homemade bun & Boursin cheese!

Hyatt Pier 66 gets it right!

So my overall experience with this hotel was great until it was time to check out!
Well, I was suppose to have a discounted rate ($ 20) per night. Originally when I spoke to Tony in reservations I explained to him that I needed to be charged the discounted rate because of the special event I was attending. He booked me for the higher rate and advised me to handle it upon arrival or departure. Needless to say upon departure the guest service woman appeared clueless to my request for rate change etc. I requested the manager who was on a conference call expecting to range from 15 –20 mins. Then when I requested someone else in charge or an assistant manager they kept telling me the manager is on the phone.
The customer service sucks and my issue has yet to be resolved.

My wife and I stayed one night at this Hyatt before boarding our cruise.
This Hyatt is in some serious need of an upgrade.
Our room was beyond basic, not even a rug just cold tile and the walls are literally coming apart.
We did room service breakfast for 2 and ordered one plate of scrambled eggs, (arrived cold) one craft of coffee with 2 cups, and one English muffin for $ 40. #insane

I booked this hotel for one reason: price. For the star level it seemed like a great value. We arrived at 12:30a after a long flight. I was a little surprised that parking was $ 25/​night, seemed high, even for a hotel in the coast. When I realized valet was $ 30/​night, I handed the keys over to the friendly valet. He took our bags and loaded them into a cart and directed me to the checkin area.
Checkin was a breeze and then a perky bellman greeted us and told us all about the hotels amenities as we were guided to our room. It was late. We were tired. While I appreciated his attempt, I wasn’t the most enthusiastic listener. Once at our room, the bellman got us ice and 5 minutes later we were sleeping.
We had booked a King room but received a Queen. The beds were hard and the pillows too soft, in my opinion. Our room faced a canal and had an amazing view of downtown Fort Lauderdale. Sadly, we never got to visit or use the pools although they looked amazing on the website. My visited the fitness center and felt it was a little on the small side.
Overall, we enjoyed our 10-​hour stay. If the beds were more comfortable and parking wasn’t so high, I would easily give this place a 4-​star rating. I also wished they had a airport shuttle. That would made the whole parking thing irrelevant.

We did not stay at the hotel, we were there for a wedding, so I can only comment on that.
This is not a review of the wedding as it was amazing. It is a review of the venue, staff, grounds, ect.
We got to the hotel and saw that self parking was $ 25 and valet was $ 30. We were prepared to pay, however we were told since we were part of the wedding, it was complementary. We never know what to expect since we were at a wedding at another hotel and we were charged for parking.
We got to the hotel a little earlier than expected and cocktail hour didnt start until 530p. We got there about 430p. It was a little chilly out and the manager came to tell us we were all welcome inside until they were ready which would be about 515p. Due to the weather, I was a little surprised that they didn’t have outdoor space heaters. We headed to the bar and one of the bartenders told us to take a seat and we would come over and take care of us so we didn’t have to stand around. He was very friendly.
We moved out to cocktail hour and were happy to move back in as it was a bit chilly. The elevators are small. Nothing they can do about it now, but it’s the only way to the top.
The second you enter the room you are in awe. The views are amazing. There isn’t a bad seat in the room. We entered just as the sun was setting. It was breathtaking.
First course… caesar salad. Very fresh and good dressing in the side and a small espresso cup was a delicious tomato soup. One person at our table didn’t have salad and a service manager noticed. She said she didn’t like Cesar. so they offered another dressing and or salad.
Next course was chicken and steak. I don’t eat meat or poultry and they offered a pasta primavera dish. It came out very quickly. The manager was on top of all the tables.
The building started rotating. You can feel the movement slightly and it changes your view. It was a good thing that the numbers were big on the table as you get a bit disoriented when you get up and return to find your table in a different place.
The negative? The bathroom was horrible! Toilet paper was all over. Paper towels as well. The hotel’s interior is rather dated.
The valet at the end of the night was very pleasant and reminded us that valet was complimentary due to the wedding.
All in all, what an amazing place for an event. It is beautiful.

I was kind of anxious about staying at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 after reading the reviews on Unilocal.I’m a loyal fan of Hyatt properties, and typically, when I read sour reviews on Unilocal I sort of shy away. But I had my eyes set on staying at the HRP66 and despite the reviews I reluctantly booked a room using a Diamond Suite Upgrade for 3 nights just after the start of the New Year.
HRP66 is a 20-​minute drive from FLL. Check-​in was busy at 4:00 pm, but very professional. If your room is in the Towers, this is where it’s at. No doubt I will always remember the view from our 15^th floor Harbor Suite. I could sit in one of our two balconies, endlessly watching flights land or take off at nearby FLL, the luxurious cruise ships come and go, the draw bridge open up for passing boats, and the beautiful sunsets. And I could gaze at all the boats in the marina, dreaming what it’d be like to own a boat and travel up and down the Intracoastal. If your room is in the 2-​story Marina building, then, ‘Meh…” (read the other views and you’ll know what I mean.)
Apart from the view and nicely appointed room, I wasn’t really wowed by this property. HRP66 doesn’t have a Regency Club, so the Diamond breakfast amenity can be taken from the lobby restaurant, where the spread was fantastic. The grounds and swimming pools are well-​kept, and the spa and fitness room looked rather inviting. My friend and I played cornhole, there was an outdoor chess set, and I even laid in the hammock for a while. The music playing throughout the property, though a little loud in some places in my opinion, had that chill vibe like you’ve arrived at a fashion show. The Wi-​Fi worked great as well as both the heat and A/​C. And the staff seemed cordial.
HRP66 was busy with a mix of conference attendees, arriving/​departing cruise ship guests, and families arriving for a wedding as we were departing. Despite all that, everything was just okay, maybe even a little tired. Would I stay here again? Probably. But I don’t have that «I definitely want to come back and stay at this Hyatt» sort of feeling.

Oh dear lord! I stayed at these sorts of run down discount Motel 6 type of hotels when I was younger but for this price and based on the photos from their website I expected more. The staff is friendly enough, but it can’t make up for the hotel that is water logged and crumbling around them.
The first room we tried appeared mildewed and old. They had slapped a fresh coat of paint on it, but that was like smearing lipstick on the bride of Frankenstein. It was so dirty and smelled so bad we couldn’t stay in it.
The second room is the one with the mold oozing through the ceiling. This room is also dirty. The sheets have hair on them. The floor has some sort of sticky grey stuff streaked across it. There are dead bugs in the floor. The only thing this room has going for it is that there isn’t that awful smell the other room had.
We attempted a third room… It was by far the worst of the three.
Apparently those are the only three open rooms in the entire hotel tonight. Yikes!
We are stuck here for tonight because it is late and I have an emergency motion I need to draft and file before going to sleep. We are booked for four nights, but we will not be staying here another night. I don’t know where we will go as we are in town for a conference and all the hotels we have called so far are all booked up. At this point the musk and mold are already giving me a headache and I am considering sleeping in the car…
This place is beyond gross. Just say «NO!»
***edited to add: My hubby rocks. After being told there were no other rooms available numerous times by not only the hotel staff but cooperate as well, he was persistent and able to get us a different room. This one is clean and mold free. It’s a little worn, but it smells nice and doesn’t look like some place you would go to kill a hooker. My head was already starting to pound in the last room. I was seriously considering sleeping in the car or just finding a 24 hour Starbucks and working all night. At least the staff here is very nice and the night manager, Tina, found us a room when everyone else said it was impossible.

Realmente desastroso. Hotel en condiciones muy malas el aseo de la pieza asqueroso. Encontre una barata gigante y 5 otros bichos ademas de pelos de otras personas y papeles sucios. Por si fuera poco perdieron las llaves de mi auto en el parking y nos ofrecieron un taxi que nos dijo que para ella era molesto quedarse mucho rato esperandonos. Por lo que volvimos a llamar al jefe de parking quien resolvio bien y llevo nuestro auto donde nosotros lo necesitabamos. Pero ha sido hasta ahira muy mala experiencia. Perdimos mucho tiempo en esto. Venimos de Chile a un compromiso que era hoy y llegamos atrasados una hora por este problema. El jefe junior ha tenido una buena disposicion pero el hotel claramente no esta a la altura de un hyatt. Yo compre por priceline. Sera por esto el mal servicio? No lo se, pero no lo recomiendo a nadie.
A pesar de lo anterior el hotel nos ha dado cosas para reparar el daño o las molestias. Eso me parece algo adecuado y agradable. Lo mejor de este hotel son algunas personas que trabajan aca como; yunior, paola, nelson y edwin (personas que trabajan ayudando en el desayuno) realmente agradables y deberian tener puestos mas importantes porque son los mejores relacionadores publicos y los con mejor actitud que he visto en todos mis viajes. Al menos deberian ser personal de recepcion. Increibles ellos

Due to the price vs quality of service it is without a shadow of a doubt the worse hotel that I have ever stayed in my life. People are really rude. The concierge don’t want to help unless you payed him! Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

Sehr gutes Hotel, wurde leider schon einige Male von Wirbestürmen in Mitleidenschaft gezogen. Das Dach-​Restaurant mit dem tollen Ausblick war während unseres Urlaubs leider wegen Renovierungsbedarf geschlossen.
