Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa

Staff never gave me attitude nor was rude to me, but i have had several issues with hand and stone that caused me to cancel my membership.
1.Issue: Hot stone massage– burned
I have had a hot stone massage before at another location and it was awesome. IDK if the massage therapist was inexperienced but the stones were too hot and she burned my back.
response: a coupon for a free add on, i still had to pay full price even though i asked her to stop using the stones only 10 minutes into the session after she adjusted the stone temperature a few times.
2. Issue: made an Appointment, no one scheduled me!
I usually make an appointment for a massage and facial back to back. on one occasion, after my massage, i sat in the waiting area for about 30 minutes. I asked about 3 people who walked by if they knew anything about my facial, they said they will find out, and that she was just finishing up with another patient. all lies. in actuality, my appointment was never made. I was more upset because i had to actively seek out what was going on and go outside, instead of employees asking if i was waiting for a service

yes i am 10 000% usre i made the appointment for a facial, that is my routine, massage and facial! even if i have to pay for the other service because you get 1 service witht he membership
3. Issue: i asked that they no longer book me for fort Lauderdale, next appointment i booked, i thought it was Davie location since i had been going to the Davie location for a few months, but it was actually fort lauderdale–
i dont know the policies fully. I expect the employees to know and educate me on policies what is allowed or not allowed. apparently once you get a membership with one location, that is your home location and that is the location that will be contacting you to schedule appointments, no matter what. if you want another location, you must call or go online and change the location temporarily (i did not know this). I asked that fort Lauderdale no longer book me and that davie would be made the new default location, since it is closer to me and I had been going there for months. I booked another appointment by phone, (they called me and did not confirm it was fortlauderdale). showed up at davie, was told my appointment was not there and it may have been booked at another location. I said thats impossible because i asked to be booked at davie from now on. she said we do not accept changes in location, once you book your membership at one location that is your home location. Thank you for the update, but it was too late, and they had no one that could take me …
response: No free coupon (i guess they do not have unlimited add ons to give out)
issue 4. Charged after asking for cancellation
that same day number 3 occurred, i was a little fed up. i called fort lauderdale, and told them what happened and that i will need to cancel my membership. She told me a lady would be in contact with me that week to cancel my membership. No one called. I too forgot to follow up as i had already begun searching for other spas to commit to. Today i looked at my account and i was charged. I called to explain that i had asked to cancel my membership over 2 weeks ago and i dont want to be charged again. they sent me the cancellation as soon as i got off the phone. why was this not done as easily the first time i had asked so that my card was not charged?
either way, I was informed that when you cancel, they still HAVE TO CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT ONE MORE TIME, according to the employee.
p.s whoever assisted in canceling my account began to tell me that they recently let go of an employee because she was not giving clients the right information???
HOW are these employees being trained???
The massages i have gotten in the past were ok, not enough to keep me as a member with such inconsistencies
high turnover rate, On 3 occasions I had really enjoyed the service, when i went back to request the same person, they are usually gone,

Friendly staff. Inviting atmosphere. Wonderful massage and facial I would highly recommend giving their membership a try versus other chains.

I recommend this place to friends and family. They have amazing massage therapists, and between the atmosphere and everyone’s welcoming attitude it makes for an overall gest experience every time. If your going make sure to try the coconut water, it’s so good

The front staff is so amazing! Always so friendly. There’s one young woman that I always see and she always remembers my name!
I see Ashley for facials. She’s so great! I used to go to an overpriced spa and started out first with Ashley for the Dermologica peel. (ps-​totally make an appt for this today!). I’ve had two peels with her and one facial. I’m headed back for another facial in 2 weeks, before my wedding. I don’t think my skin has felt or looked this great in years! Ashley is really professional, knowledgeable and knows my skin!
David is great for massages, too!
Just get the membership, you won’t regret it! Forget Massage Envy or even some of the higher end spas here. The staff here is great!

Hand & Stone provides great massages! They were even able to get me in the same day for a deep tissue massage which I was able to add hot stones to! It was an incredible massage for a great price. I became a member and can’t wait for my next visit :)

First time visit was great from the initial phone call All the way through checkout. Definitely returning!

The Spa is clean beautiful with a very friendly desk staff. I see David and JP alternating every month both are great masseuse with different techniques that are great for deep tissue massage! I definitely would recomend this location!

Mika is amazing. I’ve been a member for a few years. She listened to my needs and gave me a great massage. I will be going back to her. The reception when I walked in was very friendly and the coconut water is amazing. Definitely worth the trip!

I’ve been going here for almost a year. Today received a phone call confirming my massage appointment for tomorrow that I booked over a week ago, only to find out that it was with someone other than I’d originally scheduled it with. The girl was able to check and see that someone else had switched it to another therapist. I booked this massage around my busy week with therapist of MY choice and was looking forward to ending my Week with a massage. Maybe it’s because I cancelled my lifestyle membership? Of course the girl said «no we don’t do business like» that but it sounds pretty sketchy. Anyway, be wary of places like this, find a private massage therapist and stick with them and avoid the chains and franchises.

I have been going to this place since they first opened. The entire staff is immaculate. So accommodating and friendly! Anna especially goes above and beyond to make sure each and every client has the best experience. I can’t wait to go back!

I have visited Hand and Stone on several occasions now and I always look forward to going back! This is a clean, well run, establishment where you are always greeted warmly by the staff. The atmosphere is very inviting and sets the tone for your services. Ashley has given me amazing facials that leave my skin glowing and her product knowledge is spot on. I have had three massages there so far, and each therapist left me feeling relaxed and revitalized!
I highly recommend!

Ana and her team are great! Knowledgeable of products and matching to a customer’s skin needs (check out the Clarity line), skills are consistent so you’re not disappointed when your preferred esthetician or massage therapist isn’t available and overall– team is friendly and very service-​oriented. Also love the flavored waters they offer to keep you hydrated.

First time here. Walking in you’re warmly greeted by the front desk and welcomed with wonderful spa smells that aren’t overpowering.
I chose H&S for their plant based products. They have others but being pregnant this was priority for me.
Jeanette was my esthetician and I had a wonderful experience with her. I had a hydrating facial with a cold stone massage that was amazing! My feet were also treated and covered in warm footies that completely relaxed me.
I left with skin that felt totally rehydrated and soft. Not engulfed with products and slimy feeling that’s occurred at other spas.
Highly recommend giving this spa a try!

Very Clean place. My only issue is that my neck has been aching ever since I got a massage there. It’s been a week and I am in absolute pain to the point where I cannot sleep :(
Not sure what happened there. It IS a very clean place. Better than Massage Envy by far! But it’s just unfortunate that this happened. If the pain carries on for more than 2 weeks I’m going to have to see a doctor :(Fingers crosses

My experience was great. Thank you to each of the staff members for making sure I was comfortable and hydrated with there special waters like coconut, green tea, peach etc…
Clean, welcoming and very inviting.
Jeanette my esthetician made me feel comfortable and explained what I needed and with questions and suggestions she restored my rough skin to almost like baby skin. Love the products and I get compliments all the time now :)

I have been in Florida for two weeks dealing with some pretty heavy issues that have truly seperated my mind and body. I needed to reconnect desperately!
I saw this healing center opening upon my last visit to Ft. Lauderdale and knew it was the only place I would get body work done. It is clean, bright, unpretentious, and the intro price for a full body massage was so affordable (I felt I was ripping them off).
I have not experienced many massages in my life. I instantly was wrapped in a cocoon of heat, peace, and solace. I hardly remember talking to the massage therapist as her techniques were integrative in reducing my body feel like puddy, then working my muscles back into a beautiful new reality, stress free!
I don’t mean to be a lala-​reviewer, alas I am now ready to take on the rest of my duties here in Florida and feel at ease in body and mind.

I keep coming here every weekend or every other weekend when i have time and have no complaints.
I have even brought my sisters and some friends to try this place and all have been very satisfied.
Customer service is very friendly and accommodating, spa is clean, services are great, membership very convenient for me, affordable but without compromising quality of spa services.
The variety and quality of services they offer are great, the products they sell are of high quality and as a member you get them for a discounted price. Winning!
They also have great smelling candles that i love getting for my home. Smell so yummy.
Easy to get an appointment for the most part.
They are opening one soon close to my house and i cannot wait to try it. I have been visiting the location in Fort Lauderdale on Federal Highway so that is the location i am basing my review on.
From massages to facials and microdermabrasion, i am very happy with their services so far.

As a first time that write a review, it will unfortunately be a very negative experience. Being from out of time for a weekend getaway, thought to offer my wife and daughter a massage and facial, and also take one in myself. After booking a day ahead, we passed by the facility to make sure that it was clean and inviting, which meet our expectations.
When we returned the next morning for our appts., we were told that all 3 therapists were late and that out massages would be shortened! This is not acceptable for an established business! They were not willing to cancel the next appt., but more so forfeit ours! After a half hour drive, this was not going to work out !
We cancelled all three and went to Lifestream Spa who took accommodated our 3 massages with friendly greeting!
After already their poor reviews, I was not surprised at hand and stone for being so unprofessional .
I recommend NOT going here to anyone looking. Go elsewhere

I would give it 3.5 stars really.
I like that it was not so expensive. A lot of places, esp at the beach are really over priced but this place was really reasonable for first time customers. I came with a group of friends after a Brunch at DBA. The place was clean and the front area was simple but nice and it wasn’t freezing when I walked in.
We had reservations, some got massages and facials and me and another friend just got the massage. All my friends were called into their rooms and I waited 5 – 10 minutes before I was called in which wasn’t a big deal, the only problem was I felt a bit rushed. The reason is because the guy came in with me into the room and I went to stand over on the left of the room because it was almost pitch black when I walked in the room so I didn’t want to bump into anything but he was standing in the door way and hand gestured for me to move over to the right, and then a second later did it again more forcefully when I didn’t move fast enough… lol alright warden from Shawshank, damn… After i told him what I wanted he left the room, LIGHTS STILL DIM, so I started undressing, I had just got off my shoes and pants and he was knocking on the door. I was like «Umm, I’m not ready». I mean I can get dressed fast and undressed just as fast with the best of them, but he maybe gave me 40 seconds.
The massage was ok, I like deep tissue and he def gave me what I asked for. i like it rough but at one point I asked him to let up a bit, which to me is good, usually it is lacking. But what I didn’t like so much was that he was a bit rough in his approach, like when he would massage my hands he would just drop it after, not place it down lol and when we started, he didn’t warm me up with towels or his hands, he just went right for the rough stuff… this was a first for me. I always get deep tissue but they always get me warmed up first, doesn’t matter where i go. I liked the room smell and the darkness, it wasn’t very cold at all and the table was heated so that was nice. After it was over, I got up and looked at my phone for the time… 3:55 it said which meant my massage was 42 minutes exactly. I felt robbed. But I didn’t say anything. I just paid and went on my way. I most likely will not go back there. I am a massage snob, I have come to terms with it. I figure if I am paying someone for an hours worth of service about the same amount a pay a lawyer, I want it to be great. I am lucky enough to have someone amazing at massage envy I always go to near me so I am all good. =)
They did go through the whole speech about the membership when I was paying which was a little over drawn out but I just cut her off and said I just came with friends and I’m already a member at Massage Envy which is true so I didn’t need it and she dropped it.

Un seul conseil pour mes amis français de passage par là: Faites demi-​tour. C’est du foutage de gueule. Pas professionnelles pour un sou. Un attrape-​couillons. Allez plutôt au salon BAMBOO qui est mille fois mieux et pas loin.
