Flew in from Philadelphia and was looking for a cup of coffee that wasn’t burnt Starbucks. Happened upon this little diamond in the rough, and here’s what happened; Walked in tired, thirsty, it was the end of the day for the coffee house. Got a cup to go, got in my car, took a sip, WHAM it was honestly so delicious I had to get back out of the car and go into the shop to let them know how f#$^ing good this cup was. I bought a pound to use on my trip and I’m so glad I stumbled onto this place. I would go out of my way to drink coffee here.

This place has the BEST coffee in Florida – and I’m a coffee snob. The cold brew is also second to none and the owner is a blast! I look forward to my goodies and coffee here. Amazing food, coffee, and hospitality!

Really glad I found this place. I’ve been here a couple of times in the past month. It has character, great coffee and friendly staff.

This is the place where judges, tourists, local politicos and hipsters come to mingle and drink excellent coffee. And there is a reason for it. After talking to the owner Yoni for 1 minute, you’ll be blown away by how much he cares for his craft. He has multiple coffee farms around the world from which he carefully selects his beans, and he can talk to you ad infinitum about the quality of the beans, brewing methods, soil, etc. The coffee is delicious, rich and smooth. Great way to start your day or take a break from «the grind» and smell the roasting coffee beans.

The cold brew is the best I have ever had. Hands down the best coffee spot in florida. Learning about good coffee from the owner changed my respect for coffee and how I treat my pallete.

This place is at a temporary location, so I will reserve my full review until I see the renovations. I pulled up to get some coffee before I headed home from work to wrap up the day, and on Unilocal I found Grind right by my new place. Pulled up and (temp location aside) the place was very welcoming. They had a couple couches were they had video games hooked up, a ping pong table and a couple folding tables. The barista asked me what I usually drank and created a modified cortadito with maple syrup instead of sugar. The drink was amazing, and Grind was a very inviting place to get some work done, or to just lounge and get out of the house. Can’t wait to see the original location and will review again when I do.

the coffee is fresh and perfect. drink it the way the owner recommends. on my first time, he made homemade fresh almond milk, for an almond milk latte. i highly recommend this spot for coffee lovers… unless you think that $ 5 mochafrapacappalatte bs at Starbucks is the best thing ever.

This is the best coffee place you’ll find. I got lucky to stumble upon this little hidden gem that would turn out to be my go to place for coffee. The cold brew here saved my life when I started working early Monday mornings. You can’t go wrong somewhere that literally has the best beans serving the best coffees served by Yoni that actually has knowledge of his product and what he does.

I love this place! The coffee and the vibe is truly amazing with even better people! Yoni has taught me so much about coffee and the way it should taste! He has recommended coffee shops in various cities but nothing compares to the Grind!

The grind coffee project is one of the most high end true to self coffee joints in Ft. Lauderdale. Where Miami has Panther coffee and other hipster style coffee stores that are a far cry from the burnt taste of Starbucks coffee and mainstream chemicals added to your big cup of warm milk, the Grind brings true coffee flavor to your taste buds.
Yes he will make you his version of a flavored latte by adding items you would never think should or could be mixed with your cup of joe; once you try the balsamic added to your coffee with siracha and mixed in the most fine method of his stirring it by hand, you will never be satisfied with any other cup of coffee. He doesn’t offer scones, muffins, sandwiches. He offers exotic flavors of coffee beans brought from the best regions and if you’re lucky enough you may even meet the coffee farmer who imports the beans.
This place is a true gem and one of the best coffee options if not the only one downtown.

Yoni and his staff are true coffee fanatics and their passion for their craft is tangible. By using fresh roasted and unique coffees Grind is able to help their customers understand what coffee actually is– a complex and delicious fruit. I love this place. It’s in an usual location, which makes it all the more fun. Coffee is great and the owner will talk to you to figure out what you’ll like the most. I’m vegan and he always has almond milk available for lattes. Occasionally he makes his own almond milk as well! Many interesting people to meet there as well!

Best coffee ! You get an education and a drink. It seems off at first the non traditional vibe is off. The idea behind it I know understand the concept of true hand crafted coffee drink.

Found this place through all the great reviews on Unilocal.I came with a buddie from work. The place is pretty hidden so I highly recommend seeing a pic before you head out so you notice it when you get there.
The coffee shop is barried inside a building with other offices not related to the coffee shop. The interior is pretty cool. Cute decorations in a warehouse type place, but it was neat and different.
Yoni was not there, but his sister was covering for him. She was nice and explained to me the seceral kinds of coffee they serve. She wasnt too espcially friendly but she was ok. She said that they ran out of ice so we could not order any cold drinks. She also said they dont add any sugar or sweeteners to any of their coffees. I ordered the cortadito which was very strong but VERY bitter. I love sweets so this was just not my kind of place and also the bill was very high!

I’m HUGE on coffee. I try new coffee probably once a week and when I saw the reviews, I had to check it out and I must tell you, it did not disappoint.
The vibe is very chill and very casual. It’s definitely not your run of the mill coffee shop so don’t expect Starbucks, but if you’re like me, you’ll think it’s better.
The décor is enough for any art lover to feel at home and it’s funky and really chill, while also being really clean. It has some cool stand out pieces like a telephone booth and really cool art pieces, but now, for the good stuff… the COOOOOFFFFFEEE.
We walked up to a bar where a friendly man was washing dishes and promptly greeted us. He then asked what we usually like to drink and made my friend and I both coffee to our preferences (hot or cold, sweet or strong, etc).
I like my coffee very light and sweet (I know, I’m a phony), and the coffee that was made for me was a lot more «coffee» than I usually get but surprisingly, I didn’t mind. I could taste it and it probably was the first cold cup of a latte, not doused in sugar, that I genuinely enjoyed.
It was quick and clean and we talked at the coffee bar for a little bit while he also made some friendly conversation with us. Customer service but simple, but honest. No bs small talk or frills. He actually genuinely seemed like a human and I loved that.
He was playing a cool Netflix series when we walked in and also, I noticed a few couches, and a table with some board games (CARDS OF HUMANITY, major score) and a book shelf with more board games on top, including Clue, which is also a major favorite.
So if you’re just there for conversation, the coffee, or to chill and play some board games, it’s a great atmosphere.
We came in around 3pm and we later found out that he usually closes at 2pm and forgot to take down the open sign. It was really nice of him to let us stay and he was completely cool about it without rushing us out.
Also, like the other reviews mention, the place is very hard to find, but kudos to one of the reviews that has a picture of the front. There is a doorbell to ring, however, I’m not sure if it’s just for fun or you actually are supposed to ring it because the door was open.
When you walk through, besides the décor you also notice a few workspaces that kind of look like art offices, but just keep walking until you see the space.
It’s definitely a hole-​in-​the-​wall and there’s no specific parking lot but it’s definitely worth it for the coffee enthusiast!

Let me start by saying, Today I really understand how a coffee should taste and its change how I take my coffee now on. As you all can see by my account I’m run on and function by coffee. Without coffee I’m useless.
Every coffee I tried today was explained by the owner how it is made and what it is consist of. All three I drank today was amazing. Also, let me let you it don’t taste like Starbucks or any coffee you ever tasted. It’s totally different.
Espresso are sweetened by Avocado honey, it’s amazing. And there Panamanian coffee over ice is awesome. It’s a $ 12 coffee, but it’s worth to try. Overall my experience and theme to this coffee place is great. I recommend.
Tip: Location seems in a bad area, but it’s a safe area and it’s worth it

Not your average coffee shop. Worth a stop if you are in the area. They don’t serve decaf, but the guy running it knows and loves coffee. Interesting regulars & cool shared space. You have to ring a buzzer to get in. Very casual vibe. Coffee was pretty cheap too unless we were under charged. Fun find!

Out of this world coffee/​espresso. The owner not only knows his brews, but truly enjoys what he does. Tell him what you like and he will concoct epicness. This hidden joint has a very laid back, chill vibe. Give this place a try… finding it is half the fun.

I found this place based off of Unilocal,and am so happy I did. I had a hard time finding it at first as the word coffee is not on the door so you just have to look for the building by address. It actually created a nice mystique about the place and I felt comfortable the second I was inside. It is decorated very artsy and comfortable, and create an atmosphere of just hanging out with friends drinking coffee. The coffee was absolutely delicious. I had a coffee with milk. They had a room with a conference table where you could meet in a larger group, and have meetings… and lots of little nooks in the building for you to work on your laptop and or just chill and have coffee. This will be my new meeting spot instead of Starbucks.

Coffee lover’s paradise. No snacks. Just awesome coffee.
Been a while since I wrote a review but this place is worth it. Consistently the highest quality coffee I’ve had. I will drive far out of my way to get one of Yoni’s mochas. I’ve had mocha from Vancouver to Boston and everything in between. This is bar non the best legal mocha I’ve had.
I say legal because he cannot serve raw unprocessed milk and such in a commercial establishment so he uses the absolute best legal ingredients I’ve ever seen within those boundaries. And it shows in the flavor. Wow.
Yoni’s «No Soup For You!» purist attitude is what keeps this place a coffee lovers paradise. His sometimes gruff attitude gives the place an even more eclectic vibe that seems to attract some absolutely awesome people. And Yoni’s actually a pretty good guy under that gruffness too.
Don’t come here looking for Starbucks.
Come here because you want a REALLY F-​ing Great Coffee!

Excellent coffee, mysterious and unique environment… quiet setting and calming place. Best of all the coffee is wonderful and beautifully made!

Love this place. My seemingly endless search for good coffee in Ft. Lauderdale has finally come to an end. the owner, Yoni, is a great dude. He serves your coffee like a bartender would serve you a drink. He’s quick with some small talk, and tells you about what he is brewing today. He will let you sample his newest concoctions too.
He makes a cappuccino like they should be made. Little foam, and not a massive size where you’re basically drinking steamed milk. The espresso is high quality. It smells and tastes like strong coffee, not like bitter coffee. Big difference.
Stopping by here for a quick espresso is a great way to start the work day!

Cool spot off the beaten path in Fort Lauderdale. The coffee is delicious but I drink my coffee black so maybe I’m bias. I had a delicious Kenyan French press. Unwashed I believe, which the owner told me all about. If you want a frozen mocha frappewhatever… this is not your jam. Chill vibe and cool place to bring your laptop, work, meet people, and drank coffee. Co workspace as well, fun décor.

Finally got a chance to check this place out today.
After moving here from California a couple weeks ago, I had been disappointed in the coffee product and scene here in south Florida.
I am glad to say that Grind is the exception to the rule here. Truly a hidden gem in the downtown area.
Highly knowledgable and personable owner that is passionate about his product.
If you want an honest to goodness authentic coffee experience, make sure to visit Grind and see what you have been missing.

An americano isn’t too much to ask for… the owner refused to make it as he said it does not leave the shot of espresso to his liking. Well, exactly, the beverage was intended for me not him…
The owner does not carry himself well; basically makes comments of how we as customers should praise his presence rather then him embracing his customers. For a small business, this makes no sense!
Sour first & last experience.

WTH!!! Unilocal completely steered me in the wrong direction on this one. First time we tried to go, the place was locked. Called and the owner stated his hours were basically open when he feels like it. Second time coming back, I made sure to call before making the drive here.
It was not very inviting at all as another reviewer stated. I was hoping for the whole coffee speal but all we got was a «What can I get you?» I asked what he recommended, but he didn’t give his top sellers until later. Since it was hot out, we told him something iced. He asked if we like sweet and we said yes, so he asked if Iced latte sweetened with maple was ok. Sweetened with maple? That sounded interesting so we said yes. To me, it was just ok. It tasted more of a tea drink than a coffee drink.
So, after having a few sips, he handed us 2 chocolate bars and told us how delicious they are. Sister and I read the back and both sounded good, so we decided to try both. Way to upsell… sheesh! Anyway, I decided to just ask him questions that other reviewers stated he did for them. Asked about where his coffee comes from, his top sellers, the famous cold brew, etc. That’s when he started to open up a bit. He told us about it and my sister and I really wanted to try the cortado. We ordered it. It was ok. I had better elsewhere. He then continued to make the cold brew without us even asking and handed it to us and said «here you go. Try this.» We looked at each other and was said «OMG, this is way too much.» All he said was «you guys have 4 people. You’ll be fine.» One, my husband isnt a coffee drinker, and 2, my sister’s husband isn’t much of one either.
So here’s the interesting part… We asked to get cashed out. $ 40!!! WTFFFFFF. So, I guess he charged us for that one drink we didn’t order and told us to try??? 4 drinks and 2 chocolates came to $ 40? We just paid and left, but felt really ripped off. One, on his menu that he had up, the most expensive drink I saw was $ 5. So, 4 drinks at $ 5 each would come to $ 20. Where did the other $ 20 come from? 2 measly pieces of chocolate bars at $ 10/​piece. What a rip off! He got us good.
WE WILL NOT BE BACK!

I’m glad to find this place on Unilocal,it’s very easy to miss– but it’s definitely worth the stop. The entrance has a doorbell but most of the time you don’t have to ring it, just walk right it. The inside is really unique and artsy. The owner really knows his stuff– just let him know what kind of drink you want and he’ll make it for you– he made an ice mocha latte with Nutella and Sriracha, which seems like an odd mix but really went well together.

Coffee aficionados come and talk to the proprietor about coffee, farms in Africa, and different beans to taste. He was as knowledgeable about coffee as anyone I have met.
I bought a few coffees and they were some of the best I have ever tried in my life, including Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain. I’ll come here every time I come to FLL. This is the best café in SoFla I have been to yet. well done!
