Carla just gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. I am terrible at telling barbers what I want, but Carla is a true professional and gave my dumb ass exactly what I wanted without any intelligible input from me. I don’t do Unilocal reviews, ever, but Carla is a goddess and if there was a way to rate someone 6 stars, I would.

Matt is a great barber! Just call, schedule an appointment, and you won’t have any issues with waiting in line etc. Jon, the owner, also does good cuts for men.

After making an appointment on Saturday for 1:30 for two barbers I get to the shop where I wait at least 30 – 40 minutes past my appointment time one of the barbers says the two guys I asked for are on lunch. So finally one of the barbers says he will do my cut and I say okay I show him a picture of the haircut I want from the Unilocal pictures he says cool I can do it. The whole time I’m facing away from the mirror and the haircut was not good at all and I even had to go somewhere else to have my fade done right. After all is said and done paying 25 – 30 dollars for a haircut I had to have someone else finish it was not worth it. Will not go back again!

Jon just hired my favorite Barber (Bob), and I had my hair cut here today. The place is amazingly clean, the staff are nice, the prices are reasonable (not cheap but reasonable) and I left looking like a million dollars. Bob always does that for me. And this place is easier for me to get to than his last place, so I’m happy.
Oh, call ahead and make an appointment. You’ll get in and out much quicker that way.

I don’t always get the chance to get my haircut in a barbershop being a hairstylist myself. However, this was the best experience ever. I felt so relaxed from the moment I walked in. Matt quickly took me in with no appointment. He is truly a master at his craft. He has a soft hand and precisness that is unbeatable.(I’ve left some places burned or bleeding). So glad this place is in the neighborhood. It’s always nice to be on the other end of the shears! Thanks so much and I will be returning!

Best haircuts in Broward County! I’ve been going to Jon for about 8 years now and everyone in the shop is great! Jon, Matt, Jay and everyone…
When you walk in there it feels like you’re waking into Cheers! Everyone knows you and everyone says hello! Jon has put together a fantastic bunch of people who are great at cutting hair.
Now with the new shop, Jon has done something very hard, duplicated the atmosphere in both shops, and he’s done it very well!
I highly, highly recommend them! You won’t regret a visit to Dennis J’s!

Stopped in today March 11 with no appointment. No worries. I was pleasantly greeted by Jay. Talk about a great overall experience. That it was! Fades don’t get much better than Jay’s. This guy cut for years in Philly. He’s top notch and a real nice guy that conversates with you throughout the haircut. This barber shop is CLEAN! I cannot stress that enough. I will be back.

I went here after work for a quick cut, walked in and was told to have a seat. I’m sitting there 20 minutes watching people out of turn go ahead of me. Finally the guy sees I’m pissed of as yet another guy skirts the line. He only then asks me if I «called ahead» to which I said no.
«Oh well, then you can go after this guy here» who had just sit down.
The bottom line is, I don’t like being jerked around. The guy didn’t say anything when I walked in because he knew if he said there’s a 35 minute wait that I would’ve walked out. So he screwed me around for 20 minutes and then said hey it’s only another 15.
Never again.

This place sucks!!! Showed the jackass in the first chair a picture of the hairstyle I wanted, and he gives me a high and tight! What a fuckhead! Avoid this place like the plague if you are particular about your hairstyle. Oh and they turn you away from the mirror while they work, fuck that! I want to see what you’re doing to my head since I have to pay for it and wear it…

They do a great haircut. BUT I have a 3 strikes rule when it comes to service. Today, I was a walk in with no preference on barber. Waited an hour. I left because no one was able to cut my hair. It seem one barber was available but she sat down for lunch (?). Another patron who came in 40 minutes after me was sat because he was a regular.
This is the third time I have waited an hour and left without a haircut. So today my 3 strikes rule applies. I won’t be back.

Jon… Matt…Jay are the best guys & barbers in the Fort Lauderdale/​Miami area. I found this place looking to fix my previous cut and «googled» these guys & the reviews were right. They know how to give a excellent fade and they do the straight raze for your beard too. Really great story why Jon opened up this place; read it some time. Also his shop is laid back, cool, and clean. Very nice guys for conversation or if you just like to come and get a cut and go, they’re cool with that too. I can’t rave enough about how good of a cut these guys give. Thanks guys!

It would seem this place would be the loser when you consider it’s juxtaposed near my apartment where there is another hair salon — that serves drinks! But the budget-​minded me said let’s head for a regular old barber shop and keep our expenses down — and I’m not disappointed with that decision. I had a short wait to see if someone was going to keep their appointment, and they did, but I didn’t mind because that clued me in for future reference that a reservation is preferred and they honor them judiciously. When my turn came I couldn’t have been more pleased with the personal attention or the results and yep, they were, even with tip, well within my budget. So I’ll be back and keep the drinks to my front porch.

Vacationing here from Seattle and wanted to hit a local barber shop so I checked reviews on Unilocal and this was the place! I was not disappointed. J was my barber and he killed it! Best cut I’ve had in a long time. I would highly recommend Dennis J’s and if you can get J to give you a cut you will be happy. Thanks for being a badass!
