Daoud’s Fine Jewelry

My husband & I purchased wedding bands from Daoud’s a few months back. Needless to say this review is a bit late but between getting married & buying a home it slipped my mind. Until today when I was surprised with my grandmothers engagement ring. Made me remember how great the service was at Daoud’s and I will be visiting this week for an appraisal as well as having it sized for me. Billy was the salesperson who helped me last so I’m hoping he is still there. Billy was not who originally helped us but he coordinated our order once we left. There was some confusion where he thought we were just getting them cleaned not purchasing new bands. When I picked them up they were in a pouch. I called to express my disappointment & he apologized profusely for the miscommunication. I was already on my way to work so I could not come back & get the boxes he was offering. His solution-​they delivered them to me at my job with a fabulous box of chocolate wafer cookies. That is above & beyond customer service to me and they have gained lifelong customers from my husband & I.

over the holidays I had the privilege to stop by Daouds Fine Jewelry I was on low budget it was Xmas time i needed a small But special GIFT for a love one. The staff was courteous and kind. agave them my budget .and they worked with it they also Gave me a discount. I was ecstatic

I was brought to this establishment by a local vehicle dealership for a «buy it price». When I met with Billy, he looked at my tattoos and smirked. I knew, now, this was going to be interesting. As we sat down and I brought forth my ring, a GIA certified H/​I color, VS1 clarity, 1.50 carat engagement style ring. Billy insulted my «Fancy Schmancy «appraisal, almost flinging it at me, said it wasn’t a brilliant cut, said it was K color at best, wasn’t VS1, and probably wasn’t a 1.50 carat weight… to start with, the cut is a brilliant cut, yet European, it’s still 58 facets.
The brilliant cut originated in 1750, the MODERN brilliant cut originated in 1919. When I informed him that he was absolutely wrong about the weight, and he should measure it, he backed off. When I challenged his clarity call, he changed the subject… then subtly agreed. When it came to the color and the cut he kept saying that it was European and Yellow. He even said the appraisal photos show that it was yellow… THEY ARE BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOS! So I asked him, let me get this straight… It’s a European 1.50 carat H color VS1 clarity diamond ring and you think its worth $ 2,800. WHAT A JOKE! This cretin, Billy, took a look at me and the fact that I wasn’t wearing a Rolex watch and I wasn’t wearing an Armani suit, made up his mind that he was going to try to Bullshit me!
I maybe unconventional looking and I may have tattoos all over me but I guarantee you that I’m nobody’s fool. I’ve also seen other reviews of the store and I’m pretty sure of, this person Billy, and he’s done the same thing before! I’m glad that a local business representative was standing with me when he heard the crap coming out of your employees mouth! I’m glad I read some of the negative reviews because it was exactly what happened to me, even to the point of almost throwing my jewelry at me!
Since your store judges books by their covers… let me do the same! Billy looks like a, half slick, Yankee used car salesman with a lazy eye! The amount of scathing, incredulous, unprofessionalism that he exudes is beyond ridiculous in a, supposedly, professional environment such as this establishment.
Update: I had two (2) reputable jewelers, 1 with 40 years in the business, the other has over 25 years experience creating custom jewelry! The both said they would put my ring in their store and have no problem getting $ 12,000.00… This tells you how much of a rip off artist Billy is. As far as the store, I won’t tell anyone to not shop there, just shop around and do your due diligence!
If something has a retail insurance appraisal for $ 21,950.00, it’s true value retail is almost half, $ 12,000.00, wholesale is approximately 25% of this. That brings your buy back price to $ 3,000.00 approximately. So there you have it, the jewelry industry, AS A WHOLE, is worse than drug dealers or organized crime syndicates. So you have been warned!

I recently got divorced and went to Daoud’s to find out how much they would give me to buy back my engagement ring, and they were rude, arrogant and not helpful. They basically acted like my 1.49 carat emerald cut stone was junk, telling me the store I bought it from lied about the color and clarity, said my (ex) husband paid way too much for it, insulted another highly reputable jeweler who had already given me a quote, and never told me how much they would give me for it. They acted like they would be doing me a favor by giving me next to nothing for it. I’m glad I went there though, because now I know that if I ever do need to sell it, I definitely should not take it there.

During our recent move I accidentally broke my wedding ring and could not have been more devastated. I tried taking it to a big box shop but the guy was really trying to up-​sale me and change my whole ring. All I needed was them to solder the top of my ring back onto the band.
After getting very upset over at the big box name store one of my trusty Unilocal friends recommended Daoud’s! I totally forgot about them although this should of been my first choice; while seeing all of their advertisements around town they should be engraved in my head!
They are located in the small strip mall directly across from the Galleria Mall next to BurgerFi. The parking lot is not much but on both occasions coming to their store I was able to get a spot in their lot! If no parking is available you can park on the side street (metered) or be very sneaky in the Publix lot right next door. Upon walking in make sure you are paying attention or you will look like a complete idiot like me :/​After they buzz you in the first door you have to wait for the first door to close completely then the second door will unlock for you! This applies to coming in and leaving. Very tight security makes me feel even more safe coming here and shopping with them!
I wanted to get a quote before leaving my ring to be repaired but the jeweler had already left for the day and they did not want to quote me, only to be completely wrong. Their customer service is what sold me on actually leaving my ring there. The ladies were very nice behind the counter and made me feel comfortable leaving without a quote to get a call the next morning. After filling out the paperwork, she photocopied my ring to have on file as well as asked if I wanted an image printed out. This of course comes along with a receipt for your repair piece.
The next morning I received a call with the promised quote. I felt it was a fair price and was actually cheaper than my previous lost diamond at the «other» store! After my visit the day before the receptionist knew I couldn’t live without my ring for much longer so she guaranteed it would be complete by end of business day, same day! To my surprise it was actually done 2 hours early and she called to inform me it was ready for pick up!
Now that I know how these doors work it was a quick and easy pick up! My ring turned out looking outstanding; Shiny, clean, and most of all fixed! It looked brand new after their work of Soldering, Rhodium Plating, and Cleaning! All the staff here are very polite, friendly, and not pushy at all. Their show room is beautiful and very clean making the place speak for itself. There were several customers in doing various transactions and they all seemed happy and like family inside! This is really quite a surprise when being at a jewelry store making the atmosphere quiet and tranquil. I will definitely be recommending Daoud’s to anyone and everyone for any jewelry needs!

Patrick Daoude is a great jeweler. We have been buying pieces from him for special occasions for years. Over 16 years in fact. He is always helpful and knowledgable of trends and value. This time he hit it out of the park. He helped my husband pick out a spectacular wedding set for my fiftieth birthday and it is literally stunning. Thank you Patrick!

I drove 45 minutes from my home to get to this place because an internet post said they are voted #1 in Broward… But I needed expert repair and removal of a ring I got stuck on my finger. Okay so the showroom was beautiful, the staff members who helped me were so nice. The price of $ 100 to solder the ring back was a bit much for the work but I ordered it anyway since they said it would be excellent and look great upon completion.
They finished the work within a few days — I traveled the long distance yet again for my beautiful and expensive ruby and diamond ring. The secretary plucks my ring out of a box of filled orders — it is in a plastic zip bag — not what I call high speed or classy but okay. We ask her if we can get it in a box — she says «No» — no reason or anything just «No».
Then I pull the ring out of my plastic bag to inspect it — the work was done fairly well — but there was a flaw in the metal I later noticed and I think they sized the ring even smaller — meaning — gold was removed from the ring. The ring exterior had been polished, I looked on the interior and it was DIRTY INSIDE STILL.
So I ask the secretary can you at least clean the ring — she explains that she doesn’t understand how this could have happened as her repair person «ALWAYS» cleans the pieces.
He comes out and exclaims that he did clean it and that I brought it to him filthy and HE REFUSES TO CLEAN THE RING !
Yes — seriously.
So I took my ring and left and didn’t bother speaking to the associate who had helped me originally whom I had wanted to speak to.
To the associate who helped me — you were great, fabulous, endearing even. To the moody older repair man — your work on the ring was exactly what I wanted but to the owner — you really must ensure a complete customer experience from beginning to end on work on presentation even if it is for a repair and not a $ 10,000 sale. I am not mad at the older man but he was very wrong in his completion of the work and handling of customers.
In the beginning I went from feeling like I had traveled far and wide to find the perfect place — in the end I was indignant and rebuked after having my jewelry called filthy and denied a simple box.
I read the other review below — one person paid $ 50 to have 2 pieces of jewelry repaired — so what’s the deal with that? Do you charge customers based on how much money you think they may have for repairs or is there an actual formula? Because I didn’t need gold added to my piece so that is not a factor.
Additionally another woman wrote below that this store did scratch acid testing — that is a terrible and inaccurate way to test gold. Miami Metal Men on Dania beach with a tiny store use a high speed spectrometer to tell you the exact metal content — they won’t damage your gold, platinum or silver and they don’t even charge for the service — and they buy from their customers without insulting them like some of the posts below claim for Daoud’s — why won’t you all spring for state of the art equipment? To use scratch and acid is antiquated and far below the standards of what your store claims to offer your customers.

I am vacation and broke the post on my diamond earring. I was plainly freaking out since i have events over the course of the next few days. I called and they had a jeweler on premis who affordibly took care of the issue and the staff was extremely pleasant. Beautiful showroom:) very happy with the immedoate service!

I purchased my engagement ring for my fiancé and the experience could not have gone better. The service was outstanding and the Ring could not have turned out any nicer! Patrick and his staff were a joy to work with, they answered all my questions and had a lot of patience with me during the process. I never felt like I was trying to be sold anything. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of Jewelry.

I took a watch in for a possible sale and after the clerk ignored the 14k stamp on it, she mangled the hollow rope chain, crushed the fastener and scratched the back and sides. She finally announced that, surprise, surprise, it WAS gold. I complained to the manager and he replied, we can try to fix it. I declined, largely due to his clear lack of confidence. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the reply from Daouds was full of snide innuendos about my motive and lies about the condition of the watch. When presented with an appraisal done 3 months before by mayors jewelers, their comment was that it was an over– appraisal. They take no responsibility for their employees actions that resulted in significant damage to my property. Their offer? To «improve» the appearance. I wouldn’t trust them to clean a timex. I would never let them touch my 14k gold watch-​appraised for for than $ 2k. But if you want to be insulted and patronized, go there. They have it down to a science.

Daoud’s has been around a long time and I have used them in the past as well as many members of my family for jewelry purchases over the past few years. I recently went in to have two pieces of my 5-​year old daughter’s jewelry repaired, a necklace and a bracelet. Very simple breaks that just needed to be put back together. They called me two hours after I dropped the pieces off to say they were ready. When I went to get them a day later I was expecting to pay around $ 20 for the repairs… it was $ 50!!! I was shocked and angry. They explained that they have a minimum for repairs and that their repair person has to make at least $ 20 on each piece, plus they mark it up and take a cut and there was nothing they could do! Their repairs jobs were pretty bad too. My husband was planning on going there to see about getting a new Rolex but after this experience we will definitely go elsewhere!

This review is strictly based on the experience that I had there pricing and potentially selling some items.
First, this is a high end jewelry store offering some gorgeous pieces in a nice atmosphere.
Unfortunately, I had a pretty negative experience there. Upon going in (which takes a good 60 – 90 seconds to get through the double door buzzer system), I approached the counter and told the associate that I wanted to potentially sell some gold and diamonds.
He told me he would get someone to help me with that and went into the back. A minute later he returned, and went to a different area of the store to sit and talk to another employee.
I waited about 10 minutes, then a woman asked me if I had been helped. I told her that I was waiting on a buyer, and she went and got the SAME guy who told me he was going to find someone to help me. Apparently he was the person who was supposed to help me all along, and decided to talk to another employee for a while instead. She said something to the effect that he got caught up in the conversation and forgot.
So I sit down at his desk, where he proceeds to tell me that they won’t pay anything extra for the diamonds in a piece I showed him containing roughly 30 CARATS, explaining that they have «jars of those» (his words) in the back. I also showed him a beautiful custom made 4oz+ 18k gold chain, and he said that would also be purchased as scrap. I have no problem with that policy, but when I said I didn’t want to sell it for just the melt value, he literally just tossed it back across the desk.
The guy was a real prick, and disrespectful. I will not be back under any circumstances, despite loving some of the jewelry for sale in the place.

May have nice stuff but was not impressed with the service. After walking in without being greeted I waited a few minutes before someone asked if I wanted help. Several sales people were in the back of the store and several in the front. I was told some one would be right with me. Then a couple came in after me and were immediately helped by one of the sales people who didn’t even speak to me. I guess they looked like a better sale. I was looking for diamond anniversary band. I hope the couple who came in after me bought a nice watch because the store missed a chance at a nice sale.

Great customer service!!! The jewelry was all fantastic! They totally cleaned up our rolex watches and omg they buffed and polished my Cartier bracelet where god it looks like it has never been worn!!! And in loved that they gave us a lot of options on mens wedding bands so Eric didn’t have to just choose a plain olé band!!! Great place defiantly check it out!!!
