Authentic French Bakery

Excelent food and service. Haven’t gotten the bill yet but definately aa great experience

We came in ready to buy a spread for a wedding breakfast. Just as we are picking out the different items a roach crawls on top of the food. Then I saw another dead one in the crack of the display. Are you kidding me??? Disgusting. don’t eat here. Gross.

Wow, this place is pretty horrendous. It creeped me out and sucked my wallet dry, simultaneously. Oh, how I wish I could get my $ 17 back …
I arrived ridiculously early (by accident) for a conference at the convention center next door. Since I needed something to do and couldn’t take my car, I went scavenging for a nearby place to eat. I should have taken it as a sign when the lady hocking menus gave me one, and it was covered in sticky liquid. Um, ew.
I walked in, and the place was dead. There was no theme (certainly didn’t look French, although they play French music) and there was a random coffee bar and deli counter with a sparse assortment of crap on display. I did a DOUBLE TAKE when I looked at the prices. $ 13 for a sandwich? Is this a JOKE?
But, being desperate, I bit. Got a cheese panini and an OJ. I will say, the girl working there was incredibly nice, so that was the one and only upside.
I saw to wait and noticed several tables that looked like they’d been sitting with old food on them for several hours. Ew.
She delivered my sandwich, and there was something about it that was just WRONG. I suspect it was the tomato. It looked ok, but gave the whole thing this icky taste. Just gross. I took like three bites and couldn’t eat any more.
I had time to kill so I saw and waited, since at least the chair was semi-​comfortable. There were a few customers here and there, but generally the place was dead. How someplace like this survives is BEYOND me.
Eventually I paid my ridiculous tab and left, never ever to return. It’s really offensive when a place rips you off based on location and desperation. The even more pathetic/​sad part is that the conference had a delicious brunch and dinner on site, so it was completely unnecessary for me to waste my money here. Boo.

Authentic French Bakery caught my eye driving by at night with their large brightly lit sign. We came back in the daytime when they were open but was hard to find them without the bright sign at night to see. The atmosphere inside is trendy, nice interior. You order and pay at the counter and wait for your order. It’s pricey but the quality is right up there.

Seriously craptastical. I guess it stays in business because it is so near the port everglades. The woman behind the counter smelled like a bum, and when asked for various condiments she kept replying they did not have them «because we are french» um ok whatever. Also was really overpriced…

What a rip off and ruse!!! Just had an omlette breakfast there and my friend had a croissant only with nothing to drink. It cost $ 38! The women charged $ 3.0 extra for butter and jam plus $ 4 for the croissant. It was $ 26.95 for the omlette with juice tea and croissant. When I went to order the manager stopped me when I started to look at the board and said to order omlette continental. My friend said she wanted a croissant. The woman said ok «with butter and jam» and brought it that way. Neither of us even ate the butter and jam. Then when we went to pay (never given a bill) and they told us $ 38 total. We were shocked! We found out that butter and jam were an additional $ 1.50 each. I feel very taken advantage of and exorbitantly overcharged. I live in this area but I think they assume we are tourists and that they can rip them off. Shame on them!

A good spot if you are near Port Everglades or FLL and want some real pastry treats. A bit difficult to find as they are in the back of a hotel garage but worth hunting for, as they produce genuine – flaky, rich croissants. They also have a good lunch selection. Espresso was not that good, unfortunately. One other thing: since they are on Yacht Row it’s pretty expensive. Get your café at Starbucks a few doors over and get your baked goods here.

I was at a conference for a whole week in Ft Lauderdale and this bakery was my savior during my hypoglycemic moments following too much science intake… Anyhow, this place serves very authentic French Delicacies and mostly it serves one of my childhood favorites — Milles Feuilles, which literally translates to a thousand papers… its a very simply dessert —a thousand fillo dough papers, of course, with layers of custard… really good, really really good. Perhaps, I’m biased because I associate it with my childhood, but it sure made me a happy little girl. Oh oh oh they also serve illy coffee…
Aside from sweets, this AUTHENTIC French bakery which is ironically run by Italians serves really good panini served on sweet French baguette… really good and definitely less fatty.
I tried their mushroom and onion quiche but quite frankly it did not hit the spot, sadly.
I will miss you Authentic French Bakery…
Now that I think about it, I wonder why they chose such a name… certainly not creative, but I guess it works in drawing in the convention crowd
