Cottage we stayed in was not bad; $ 75 per night for 2 in a BR. From the looks of other motels in Ft Klamath, it may not be better or worse. Stove/oven and fridge worked ok; dishes and cooking pots can be borrowed. Toilet was clean but tub had a lot to be desired. Took a long time for hot water to flow. Don’t expect motel convenience; make your own bed and clean up after yourself. No air conditioning but we used a small fan provided. No mosquitoes inside but we knew they were all waiting for us if we spend time outside(just as they were in the park). It was the closest to Crater Lake NP. The owners were very nice.

We found this place online and made a reservation by mailing a check in advance. We were here the week after Labor Day, and pretty much had the place to ourselves. If you are looking for a rustic cabin in the woods, NOT a Best Western, this place is perfect. We wanted to get away… no TV, no phone, no wi-fi, and that’s exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was clean, roomy, had fridge/stove/microwave, had a funky oil heater, and was perfectly cozy. There were no mosquitoes, but we brought bug spray just in case. There’s a lovely creek out back and tons of wildlife. The convenience to Crater Lake Park is unmatched for the price. You can borrow games, dishes, etc. from the office. The owners are friendly. It’s a unique experience. The only drawback was that the shower sort of sucks. It took forever for the water to heat up, and the water pressure was lousy. Still totally worth it. We’ll stay here again.

Good and bad in a nutshell… and I will let you decide for yourself. The Bad: Tons of mosquitoes and other six legged creatures outside and quite a few inside. The Good: Will keep your kids entertained in trying to swat the mosquitoes. The Bad: The whole cottage creeks when you walk. Poor foundation. The Good: Easy way to wake everyone early in the morning The Bad: Floors are dirty and muddy The Good: You learn to appreciate the bathroom, the only non muddy surface The Bad: Area not scenic, scary outside. The Good: Well. still trying to think of one! Hope this helps. This was the only cabin available in the area, when the rest were booked. Explains why.

If you’ve read bad reviews of Wilson’s Cottages, then they are simply from folks who somehow expected a hotel experience just outside of a secluded national park. If you are looking for a couple of cozy notches above a camping experience that includes a bed, a kitchen, and a shower, then this is your place. The cottages were hand-built with lumber from the property by the Wilson brothers in 1937. I would call the cabins modest — not rustic. My cabin had a separate bedroom with a double bed, vanity, and closet. Outside the bedroom was a kitchen with a small gas range, microwave, refrigerator, and sink.(Any kitchen equipment you’ll need is provided to you at the front desk). There was a kitchen table and even a couch to enjoy some conversation with your cook. The bathroom has it all — a shower/tub, sink, and toilet(many have reviewed that there is no hot water, however, you just have to let the water run for a bit — remember, this IS a camp). So, you see, you’ve got all your basics. Although there is a weak wifi connection, there is no tv, so get ready for a relaxing evening bike ride by the cow pastures, or snuggle with your book by the oil heater(THAT was my favorite feature). If you know what to expect, you’ll find this place charming, cozy, and a step back to the past. The front office was friendly and helpful and I will most definitely go back when there is too much snow on the ground to camp in the park. **TIP** You have to pay by check, so make sure to bring one!

Cabins are musty and very rustic. Toilet barely works. Old furnace to heat the cabin. Barely any appliances if any. Mosquitoes are worse than I have seen in my life and are everywhere. You will not want to go outside but you won’t really want to be inside either. If you are looking for a cabin with no frills that seems like it has been kept the same for the last 50 years this is the place for you. I do not want to be here now, let alone ever again. There is wifi however. Get me out of here. :(
