This is definitely a Hidden Gem in Fort Collins. I was having a sugar crash and didn’t care where I ate, even at a gas station. Discovered this gas station had a Chinese restaurant in it, I figured it couldn’t be any worse than the ones in Sonoma County Ca so why not? give it a try. I ordered the chicken chow mein, pork fried rice and potstickers. I found the staff helpful, very friendly and possibly the hardest working individuals in the restaurant business. The food is the best Chinese I’ve had in 20 years and a great value. I could only eat half of my large meal and then immediately went to bed had a good night’s sleep after a very long road trip. Feel free to wear your flip flops, cargo shorts and a t-shirt to enjoy a great meal, they do have tables for indoor dining The only drawback that I saw was if you order in it can take a while because they are super busy. Disclosure: this is a late review, hope they haven’t changed a thing.

Pros: +++Just about the only place in Northern Colorado where you can get actual chinese food instead of American Fusion… ironically it’s in a gas station +++Large portions for the price, a very good deal. Cons: None that I can think of. Being inside a gas station it’s not really a restaurant; just order to go. What to order: Singapore Noodles with Curry, Ginger Avocado Fried Rice

Excellent food. Was a little worried about it being located in a gas station. But it surprised me.

I have many fond memories of skipping fifth period with massive quantities of THC in my system to visit Sally’s and indulge in some piping hot crab cheese wontons with my delinquent high school friends. A few years later, Sally’s remains my favorite Chinese place in town. They’ve perfected all the basics and serve them up in generous portions! Try the sesame chicken, or the ginger avocado fried rice if you’re not looking for anything too heavy. Some people seem to be bothered by the fact that it’s located in a gas station, but don’t let that deter you. Great if you live on the south side of town and need something delivered.

Holy wow, this place was amazing!!! I tried it because it is one of the only places that will deliver to my house. They only charged $ 3 for a trip outside of their delivery area. I got the ginger avocado fried rice with pork. It’s was amazingly fresh, light and healthy. The garlic calamari was also great. That calamari tasted fresh. The sauce was very flavorful and the vegetables still had a fresh«snap» to them. Lastly I got the Eggplant with shrimp. Outstanding!!! The shrimp were huge and clean. The Eggplant was sweet and perfectly cooked. This was the first time I’ve tried them, but it certainly won’t be my last!

It’s been a couple of years since my original review, and this is definitely THE Chinese restaurant in town for us. My go-tos are the Drunken Noodles, Ginger Avocado Fried Rice, Chinese Eggplant, Lemon Scallops, Mongolian Beef, and of course the Sesame or General Tso’s Chicken(if one is feeling particularly for«comfort Chinese food»). Love the family that runs the place, always friendly and they work so hard!

Odd location for a restaurant, it’s inside a gas station! We got pad Thai and sesame chicken, which took less than 10 minutes to make. The food was average, but the chicken was better than the pad Thai. It’s pretty affordable and quite speedy, but we felt kinda odd eating inside the gas station. If I was gonna go back, I would order to go.

Thanks to all the other great reviews we stopped in for some carry out. Definitely agree that the food was excellent and prepared quickly. The owners were friendly and very attentive to everyone stopping in. The menu is very extensive and includes a great variety of styles including some that you wont find often. Will be going back for sure as there were many many things on the menu we want to try. Just moved back to Fort Collins an have a feeling this will be our go to carry out spot for Asian food.

Do you like to wait over an hour for marginal take-out Chinese food? Then, Sally’s Kitchen is the place for you! Since we moved to the area, last year, we have been trying to give Sally’s the benefit of the doubt, but NOMORE!!! We don’t care that it is in a gas station; Sally’s Kitchen is the closest restaurant of any type to our house – and we love Asian food – so we have continued to try to give them a chance. Last night, my daughter was in the mood for Chinese food, so we stopped in after a movie. There was no one at the tables and just one other person there, but both of us were told before even trying to order«it is going to be at least 45 minutes.» The visit before that I came in while my family waited in the car. I ordered and waited 45 minutes. Tonight was the last straw. My husband called in an order of Orange Chicken and a Crab Rangoon appetizer at 5:12 p.m. Simple stuff, right? He was told that it would be 15 — 20 minutes. He left our house, arrived and paid for our modest order. At 6:14, he was asked to pay again. He told them he had already paid and included a $ 3 tip up front. Rather than trust the man who had sat right in front of them for 50 minutes, they proceeded to check the register for the receipt, pull the register tape to look for it, and asked him 3 times who he paid. He was embarrassed to have to stand there, in front of other customers, while they openly questioned his integrity. Also, he was irritated at the 1 hour prep time for a single entrée, and the rudeness of the young man helping behind the counter. If people wonder about the food, the crab rangoons were cold. They were probably ready at 5:25 when we were told the order would be ready. We have had some of their noodle dishes. The Pad Thai is incredibly bland and lacking the flavor and extras that are usually part of this dish. The seasonings on their entire menu seem a bit«off». If you are in the area, Canton Palace and Wonderful Dragon are much better choices. The service may even be FRIENDLY – imagine that!

I was disappointed in the food here. It’s highly recommended, but for me it just didn’t pan out. The Avocado Ginger fried rice is terrible. I love ginger, but it’s so overpowering in this dish you can’t taste anything else that makes fried rice delicious. The Rangoons were standard fare and our Orange Chicken was bitter. Fortunately, we didn’t invest in more dishes. Don’t believe the hype associated with this place, you’ll get better food at a better price and faster service at Hunan.

‘Must echo the other glowing reviews for Sally’s. The avocado ginger fried rice is SUBLIME-‘not at ALL greasy, nor textured the way most fried rice dishes are, where«fried» often translates to sloppy mush. This was an entrée that miraculously balanced pieces of healthy, ripe, flavorful avocado-in the midst of whole, perfectly moist rice(‘hate that word(«moist») but it’s the only one that fits here) with a hint of ginger & other vegetables to balance the flavor of the dish. I’m amazed that Fort Collins has not been«put on the map» through this place/menu item alone, honestly. It must be a great, great, great, great grandmother’s recipe, passed down from generation to generation. ‘Also had the mixed vegetables in brown sauce. One tip would be to go light on the brown sauce with this dish, or maybe skip it altogether, as it is a little bland. The garlic sauce or a side of sweet & sour would be a better way to go. I ordered delivery: the service came within the promised hour, everything was hot, ready to eat & truly some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had(*in the nation). To realize that it comes from inside a gas station right down the street is bizarre, but great. Thank God for Unilocal & for those who reviewed this amazing place. Now I know who to call when I need delivery that is guaranteed to be a culinary delight. As a vegetarian, that’s a tall order in Ft. Collins. ***I do have to agree with the reviewer who mentioned the Styrofoam: it makes me SO sad to imagine that I would contribute to a landfill by ordering from Sally’s. I guess that would be the only true drawback at Sally’s. I just can’t imagine take-out containers in the form of Styrofoam in the year 2015⁄16.(??) How can restaurants continue this? I hope Sally’s pays attention to this important response from their patrons. In retrospect, I must take one star off solely for this reason, because it IS a very big deal. ‘Styrofoam just HASTOGO. Also, finding the menu online can be challenging; even through their Facebook page, it’s hard to find the menu tab. But the search is WORTH it…‘So. Sally’s: ‘lose the Styrofoam, consider putting up a website to post your menu for easy access, & your 5 star ratings will likely quadruple. In these times, the Styrofoam issue truly IS that important.(*Please see photos of phenomenal food items…).

Went here because of the reviews and recommendations on Unilocal. Got carryout on a Friday night and there were at least 10 other people there doing the same thing. We ordered the ginger avocado fried rice, sesame chicken, general tso’s chicken and crab wontons(crab rangoon). The chicken dishes were pretty good, although I didn’t expect the sesame chicken to be breaded, fried and with a thick glaze sauce. The crab wontons were good as well. The one thing I didn’t like was the ginger and avocado fried rice. There was too much ginger flavor and that’s it. My boyfriend also ordered plain fried rice and that was very bland.

We recently moved to the area and have been trying various Chinese restaurants. Unfortunately, we did not find one we really liked until we had Sally’s deliver last night. We ordered General’s Chicken, egg rolls, Fried Rice w/Shrimp, Pad Thai and Sweet Sour Chicken. Everything was excellent(except egg rolls — a bit dry). The quality and value are good. The delivery was slow(1.5 hours) but it could be because they are quite busy.

Sunday night Chinese food is a long-standing tradition in my family; tonight was the third or fourth time we’ve ordered from here. We ordered Crab Cheese Wontons, Egg Drop Soup, Sesame Chicken, Chicken Pad Thai(hold the veggies), and white rice. PRO: Food arrived hot, friendly service, Crab Cheese Wontons were crispy and tasty(not at all greasy, like you so often find), Egg Drop soup was hot and good(not great, but not bad), Sesame Chicken was spot-on, white rice was white rice(really hard to mess that up). CON: Food took 1.5 hours to arrive(quoted 60 min), Pad Thai was awkward. I’ve posted pictures. The noodles were thin and almost spaghetti-shaped, the chicken was interestingly cut(moist and not overly-fatty, but odd… It was almost like Spätzle, if that makes any sense), and the sauce was so far off that we question whether or not it was Pad Thai sauce. It was more like a brown sauce, or gravy. Not at all sweet. EGREGIOUSCON: Everything comes in styrofoam. Styrofoam! I really hate to jump up onto my granola-munching, tree-hugging soapbox, but this is 2015, and we live in a relatively environmentally-savvy state. Get with the program, people! PERPLEXING: Our drinks(Diet Coke and Orange Fanta) came with lids that said Panda Express. WTF is that? Did you run out of lids and decide to jack the nearest Panda Express? The cups, themselves, were styrofoam, but the almost-ill-fitting lids were clearly Panda Express– check out the picture. The Skinny: We’ll be back, but will continue to cringe at the use of styrofoam.

Best Asian food in Fort Collins. Love the Ginger Avocado Fried Rice & Double pan fried noodles are like no other! Simply the best. Generous portions and fresh ingredients. The egg drop soup is really great to order when your sick, instead of the old chicken soup. :)

Best Chinese in town! Their online presence is lacking, more if a word if mouth venture at this point, and they hire idiots that don’t know what’s on the menu, but the food is great! They’re smart choosing to occupy a gas station near a major intersection because there’s always foot traffic. The crispy spinach is good, so is the spicy chicken and shrimp. Great for lunch, or dinner!

Like everyone else has said… Yes, it’s in the convenience store of a gas station. Go anyway! I stayed away until the other night and I’ve been missing out on fantastic food. The ginger avocado fried rice was A-MAZ-ING!!! Thank you fellow Unilocalers for talking about that entrée. This dish is the kind of food you eat very slowly in small forkfuls because you don’t want to reach the last bite. Flavorful, unique, absolutely delicious. Hubby commented that the food at Sally’s seems fresher than his usual go to Chinese take out. We shared the above mentioned fried rice and an order of spicy chicken and shrimp. The kiddos ordered set and sour chicken and general tso’s chicken. We were all happy. Pricier meal for my family a five, especially when u add on spring rolls but we all had leftovers to enjoy the next day, so not so bad overall. Bottom line: come, you’ll be glad u did. P. S. My starving teenage son was impatient with the wait for his food. It was longer than at the place he’s used to. However, I think this likely also speaks to the care taken with your order and the quality.

Fantastic Chinese food! Fort Collins doesn’t exactly have the best options as far as Chinese food goes, but this place knocks it out of the park. Don’t be swayed by the fact that it is in a gas station — this place is amazing. We got delivery, and ordered orange chicken, cashew chicken, «something different», and eggplant with chinese delicacies with chicken. We were all very satisfied with our food. We have also tried the hot chicken with crispy spinach and the avocado ginger shrimp fried rice, and both of those are delicious as well. They deliver for free within a 5 mile radius, and add a delivery charge of $ 3 for anything further. It’s difficult to find their menu online, but they are very helpful over the phone. The delivery was super speedy! Definitely give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.
