I recently purchased a very large geode and was impressed with the knowledge and expertise of one of the store managers Aaron S. He gave me great insight into the options I had, the origin of the geode, the value and features of it that make it stand out compared to others. In addition he was extremely reliable and professional in delivering the geode to my house in a prompt manner. He was very responsive to my requests and questions. I would recommend this store without hesitation.

Love this store. It’s a museum and store in one. There are lot of fossils, rocks, giant jewels and marble. There’s a section for kids with my favorite animal puppets. Fancy glass thermometers, numerous mortar and pestles, pretty dishware, science games, dinosaur toys, cards, and so many other things I can’t list. I recommend just to stop in and look around, it’s great to wander around.

Friendly workers! They are a great help and fun to talk to. There’s more than just minerals. There’s toys for children, or scientific toys(my favorite). The rocks are vey well priced, though of course some are quite extraordinary and will cost you a pretty penny; but it’s worth it. They have rare lab designed rocks which look amazing, and don’t cost all that much. Some art vendor pieces and small stones that are easy for children to start their own collection! This store is one of the best I’ve seen in my life for rocks and minerals. If you’re in Fort Collins and like this kind of thing, this is definitely a stop for you! You won’t regret it!

I’ve stopped here every time I’m in Fort Collins. It’s really cool. Get past the schlocky touristy stuff and there are some very beautiful pieces. The staff is friendly and genuinely enjoy their jobs and talking to new people.

This place makes me so happy. I’m glad to see a store like this alive and well. They have a –huge– selection of stones/crystals, and really well priced. I wish I lived nearby so I could come back to check out more of the store, it’s a big place. The woman who was helping me was excellent, she helped me find exactly what I was looking for.

This place is great for all ages, candles and really beautiful rocks and books! Poor customers service though.

If you loved the science center and the science center gift shop, as a kid, you’re going to love this place. Part of it is like walking into the geology section of a museum… giant amethysts, polished stones, fossils, wooly mammoth hair! All available for purchase, if you can pay the price. The owner is a former geologist — so the stuff is legit! The other part is full of stoneware kitchen stuff, jewelry showcasing quartz and other sparklies, and kits, games, and miscellany for science-savvy kids. Amidst so much coolness, you’re bound to find something you(or someone you know) can’t live without.

Nature’s Own does have an excellent selection of rocks but lacks decent customer service. Employees do not greet or ask if you need assistance, and when I ask them a question they are apathetic bordering on insolent. I attribute these issues directly to management and their indifference to the employees’ conduct.

I found out that Nature’s Own carries fluorescent rocks, ones that glow under a black light. I think this has eluded me before because the section where they are at does not highly indicate that these rocks have this ability unless you hold the rock very closely to the set of black lights that are nearby and probably I just missed the sign too. Great fluorescent rocks at good prices!

I’m a rock hound. I’d probably also love gems and jewels, but I’m cheap so Rocks it is. I’ve been rock shopping in Estes Park, Boulder, Nederland and Fort Collins. Of all the specialty shops I’ve been to in Colorado, I enjoy Nature’s Own the best. Rock collectors will notice the sparkly rocks and various sized fossils immediately upon entering. From quarter sized hunks of lapis lazuli for the beginner to 3 foot tall slabs of ameythst for the serious collector, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The entire back room is full of a wide variety of onyx, stone and fossil vases, bowls, and coasters. The jewelry counter makes me drool. Pendants in every shape, size, color, and style possible all made from polished stones, rocks and minerals. Whether you want to spend $ 15 or $ 40 you are going to find you next favorite pendant here. I also once bought a fist sized hunk of rose quartz that would easily have cost me 5 times as much on Pearl Street in Boulder. In addition to all these wonders, they have a mountain of stuffed animals, puppets, unconventional action figures and science toys. It’s like the Discovery store, the zoo gift shop and Pandora’s all mixed together.
