Description

Specialties

FRCBA offers classical ballet training based upon a Russian syllabus taught by an accomplished professional dancer with many years of highly regarded teaching experience. An emphasis is placed on correct body alignment, placement and proper use of turnout in order to prevent injuries and to provide a solid base onto which a dancer can endlessly increase their virtuosity. In a comfortable intimate setting with low student: teacher ratios, classes are offered for ages 7+, at both recreational and pre-professional levels. Many adults of all ages and levels have found a ballet home here. There are performance opportunities for all ages, and classes in ballet technique, pointe, contemporary ballet and modern, as well as conditioning. Social/learning gatherings are held for students to develop a supportive community atmosphere and an enhanced understanding of the art of ballet. FRCBA seeks to provide high-quality ballet training at rates affordable to all, and offers work-study and scholarship opportunities to those in need. Private lessons are also available.

History

Established in 2010.

The business began with a studio in Loveland where it held classes for just over a year, attracting students from Loveland, Greeley, Fort Collins, Berthoud, Evans, and even Wyoming. A change of situation was forced upon the studio in November of 2011, and for several months classes were continued in varied locations across the Front Range to accommodate the wide ranging geography of the students. Since June of 2012, the studio has been once again centralized in one location — central Fort Collins. Located within the owner’s home, the studio offers structured classes of levels from beginning through advanced for ages 7+, progressing according to a syllabus, and providing the training necessary for anyone interested in pursuing ballet as a profession, as well as providing classes for recreational dancers of all ages, featuring a strong adult program. Students younger than age 8 may attend classes at the FRCBA studio through its affiliate Petite Ballerinas, run by Deneice Dyer.
