Great park, lots of creative structures that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Plenty for climbing, swinging, and riding :-) We were impressed, the locals are lucky to have this one.

This is a huge park near my parent’s home, so we stopped in while I was in town with my kiddo. There were people flying kites, the dog park was great, and the kid equipment area is really big with lots of space for all ages of kids to enjoy. On our walk nearby on some of the trails we saw multiple deer. It’s just beautiful and outdoorsy and a great Colorado park!

I recently discovered Fossil Creek park and it is one of my new favorite parks in the Northern Colorado area. They have a great dog park, a beautiful lake with geese and other foul, a wonderful playground and an awesome water feature for children. The park is equipped with clean facilities as well. Excellent park for anyone who enjoys being outside and for those with young children.

Fossil Creek is probably my second favorite park that the City Of Fort Collins has. They have a great dog park, intersecting trails that link up to the city’s bike trails, a small lake with geese and other foul, a very cute playground, awesome tennis courts and so on. I love to meander and take the dogs for a walk around the pond. There is a totally awesome water feature where little kids and adult alike can splash around in… when it is turned on that is. A great canopy like structure by the small lake where you can have pic nics and special events. Sounds like a nearly perfect park right? But there is trouble in paradise it seems. One thing that I find very… VERY annoying is that when you walk by the playground there are lots of parents leering at you. Very similar to the movie ‘Little Children’ where you know a group of mothers or fathers are gossiping about you. You can just FEEL it. I guess if I were a woman I might not get that as much but either it is by myself or with my partner. So that means two men walking together. To these overprotective parents to them I suppose it screams ‘sex offender or kidnapper’. Hey, get real. You are so busy watching me or my partner that you are not even paying attention if your child is going to fall off the playground equipment. I don’t encounter this by going to the other parks around town… or else I am just clueless and people are not making themselves so obvious. I know the parents don’t want anything bad to happen to their kids or their neighbors but in the back of their minds you can just tell that they want something to stir the neighborhood up about something. I don’t mean to judge these parents… they PROBABLY are good people… just living in their upper middle class fears. I have a term for people that do this ‘Predator Parents, Predator Mommies or even Predator Daddies’. The reason for this term is that I feel like a bird of prey is waiting to fly in and snatch me up with it’s talons and devour me. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised that people act like this in South Fort Collins. This is where the whole Balloon Boy incident started you know.
