Crip Erickson – 8z Real Estate

I’ll keep it short and simple. Crip is an outstanding realtor and I’m so lucky we found him.
He really went above and beyond for us. He was very attentive and stuck with us when things got a bit hectic. Most importantly, he was always very honest and genuine; those traits are key when buying a home. I am more than impressed with Crip and would recommend him to everyone.

I am so lucky to have Crip as my friend and real estate agent. I needed a place to live, on urgent notice. I assumed I would have to keep throwing a fortune down the drain to continue renting for a while before a home purchase was a valid option, especially in such a dynamic/​competitive market as Northern Colorado! I figured it would take a year or so to find a decent place that I could afford. However, with Crip’s help, positivity, knowledge of the immediate market, and access to all of the right resources, he showed me that purchasing was a real option… NOW. I took his word for it and we were off. It literally took two days to find the perfect place for me. I was sold. I understand there was a bit of luck and divinity in these circumstances, but Crip understood exactly what I was looking for, knew what I could afford, and made it happen! Boom! I’m in an amazing place that I own, and I love it. No more renting for this chica! I HIGHLY recommend Crip and the entire 8z realty office for anyone needing real estate guidance. Crip is smart, professional, tactful, patient. He knows properties and the market, and he knows the real-​estate business. From observation, he has good rapport with other local agents, mortgage and title people.
I probably wasn’t his easiest client but he didn’t really let on. He is good about staying in touch, and is quick to respond to questions and comments.
We know him as a buyer’s agent. From conversation, he sounds like he would be a smart, common-​sense listing agent as well.
I recommend him to anyone in the Ft Collins-​Greeley area.

Ever ask for a dentist recommendation and have everyone respond, «Oh, my dentist is great!»? But you can never know if they’ve had a bad dentist to compare their ‘great’ dentist to, or if they’re only recommending their dentist because they have a dentist. Without the comparative horror story, they don’t even realize that their ‘great’ dentist is actually a mediocre butcher.
Well, the same holds true for realtor recommendations. And this recommendation for Crip Erickson is NOT that type of recommendation.
Moving to Fort Collins from Southern California, the land of real estate rip-​off artists, we were surprised to find such a robust and competitive market. So we took our realtor selection process seriously. After checking out several recommendations, we went with Crip. And if you’re looking for a top-​shelf real estate professional, you should too.
Crip knows Fort Collins, and the Front Range for that matter, inside and out. Relative newcomers to the area, we needed the keen direction of a true local. And like a Sherpa guiding amateur climbers to the summit of Everest, Crip shepherded us to our ultimate goal — buying a house in a town where it’s nearly impossible to buy a house.
The process took six months. We looked at a near endless number of properties. None worked. We were too particular, or, when we did like something, it sold out from under us in minutes (literally). All through this process, Crip answered every question, every text, every email, every phone call, all totaling into the hundreds.
He was timely, pleasant to work with, hilarious and always greeted us like we were life-​ling friends. Even when we were certain that we had become the crazy makers of a doomed relationship, Crip never gave any indication that we were impossible or even a bother. He put in tireless hours of research, accommodated our whacky schedules to show properties, most often at a moments notice.
All said and done, with the amount of hours Crip put into our deal, we estimate that he likely made less than minimum wage! Yet he still gave us the most appropriate closing gift, so thoughtful that we knew we had made a true friend here in Colorado. In fact, we’re getting ready to meet him for tacos and beer as we speak!

My wife and I moved to Fort Collins from Northern Virginia. We initially sent an inquiry to Crip a few months before moving because we foolishly thought we could shop around remotely. He called me almost immediately and was more than willing to answer any and all of my questions.
After searching over the web for a short period we eventually decided that the best option would be to rent for a year and get a first-​hand feel for the area. Crip followed up near the end of our lease and we decided to move forward with him as our agent after meeting with him in person.
We specifically chose him because he was experienced locally, responsive to emails/​calls, and he was not pushy, but very honest and down to earth. On top of that Crip is just a very relatable guy with a good sense of humor. In the end we wanted an agent who knows his stuff, which Crip certainly does, but who is also someone who we wouldn’t hesitate to grab a beer with.
My wife and I are designers by trade, so generally very picky, but on a modest budget in this case. For the location and price were looking for it was certainly a waiting game but Crip quickly understood what we wanted and would help us jump on listings that fit us while not wasting our time on others. He tactfully steered us throughout our search, while answering approximately one billion of our questions, and was very accessible by email/​phone/​text. He helped us write several competitive offers, and eventually got us into our perfect home.
Unless you’re Bill Gates, buying a home is all about compromise. Crip offered an experienced and level-​headed perspective for us to make smart decisions, whether it be about the location, condition, worth, or potential of the homes we were interested in. He does not rattle easily throughout the buying process and will bend over backwards in your favor. We were comforted in knowing that he was on top of what ever needed to get done and always with our best interests in mind.
